Bah I dont know what to do with this TRU sale this weekend. I really want Animal Crossing, kind of want Metroid Prime Hunters and can live without Tetris. I do have a 10.00 off any purchase coupon so my total would be 60.00....but after the CC clearence, my wallet is hurting

There's a TRU sale?

Hmm.
Sorry, not mine. The newspaper I write for in Newport, RI.

PS. I'm actually a senior in college. Not that you'd really care, but just letting ya know.
I know, I was just poking fun. it's all I do, which is really pretty lame. Oh well. :/

Is it like a city paper? Like around here, the Rocky Mountain News out of Denver is the big thing.

Yea B2G1 free on select DS games.

I just hate having SO many games that I wont even touch...before CAG I used to play and beat each game before moving onto the next, unless I was really stuck and couldn't get any further.

I know what you mean. That's why I limited my game buying these days.

Haha, I know you're a ballbuster, but I just wanted to make myself clear. Anywho, yeah, it's a city paper, but it's not like the example you gave. It's more of an Arts & Entertainment paper with a specific audience...although people like to write or call in and complain that they're not being covered by the paper when people who read our paper would never read a story about a garden tour, for example.

Also, the thing I was talking about in my earlier post was this assignment I have every week. We have this part of the paper called the Sound Off, which is basically a man-on-the-street thing where I ask random people a random question. This week I'm being a bit lazy and just trying to ask random people through friends, which my editor has said is fine as long as I get it done, but I forgot to ask anyone tonight. It's all good though, because I'm going up to Boston tomorrow and I know some people there who wouldn't mind being in a newspaper.

Okay, enough of my rambling, night CAG.
Apparently my sig is too big. Anybody else get that PM?
It doesn't bother me personally. Ever since Cheapy changed it to where each persons sig shows only once per thread page, it doesn't bother me. What bothers me are forums I've been to where people have sigs that are so damn long you have to hit page down twice to get to the next post. Only to have to do it again if they post later on and such. I've actually seen one forum where they didn't set any size limits on the avatar, so annoying soccer moms have to have avatars that are full on 640x480+++ size pictures. And yes, its those same ones that have large ass sigs, not to mention, they're all sparkly and shit with just their name. *shudder*

Thats one reason why I don't really even bother with paranormal forums. Its idiots that have sigs and avatars like that.

So maybe it would be best to just get Animal Crossing with my 10.00 off coupon...then get Metroid another time when it's cheaper? On my DS I still have to beat Mario 64, Kirby: CC, and Mario Kart. Not to mention I just started Nintendogs and Advance wars. Oh, and I only scraped the surface of Mario & Luigi PiT.

Ah, I see. I'm definitely not dropping 60+ for 3 games when I just got 4 for 38. Hehe

Well I'm all about budgeting. Luckily, the only bills I have to worry about are car Insurance and gas. I only need 200.00 more into my car insurance, so that should be paid off soon, and I'll drop another 120.00 into my gas before I go back to school.

Now, as for spending money, I'll only be working a little bit during the school year, making like an extra 150.00 a month, so I want a good amount to start the year with. Right now I have 816.00 spending money, and that will increase to 986.00 after my next paycheck. I just dont want to go crazy spending money now, and then not be able to spend much at the end of summer.

I've given up on the backlog - it grows, but someday, damn it, I will make it through.

Or might.

All I know is that, with the addition of a Game Boy Player (because lighting sucks in our dorm rooms), my Cube will be perfect for next year at college. Eight GC games, probably ten times that for the various incarnations of the Game Boy (though there'll be much picking and choosing), and my laptop? WAY more than good enough. :D

Lucky. I've got to work during school so I can pay off part of my tuition and reduce my loans by that much more. Going to one of the country's most expensive public schools has its drawbacks.

Here's hoping that thought doesn't give me nightmares tonight. :)

I wish I could find work on campus, but it's not totally important. Would be nice to have extra cash.

meanwhile, my cousin just suggested i work with him as a caddie for a little while. Its a good gig: start off with training, follow someone around, and eventually carry two bags at once for an awesome pay. Even better, i make my own hours, so i'll probably get something else on the side (Target's looking good, especially the idea of an employee discount)

things are looking good this summer for AlbinoNinja

Ah, gotcha. We have a few of those in town. I think one's called The Bullhorn and the other is The Scene. They usually deature local artists and breweries and shitty movie reviews. The Bullhorn's dead, though, I think. It wasn't any good anyway. Damn hippie paper.

Albino, has anyone ever told you that you look british? Cause I think you do. When giving the people their clubs you could be like, "FRESHEN YOUR DRINK GOVENAHHHH!!"

No this one is funny.

Does anyone really say 'fuck me.' as an expletive, or is that just Gabe's touch?

... "Your mom says 'fuck me', Tiph. Ahahaha." I know someone will say say it.

Yay for finally finding a place with Phoenix Wright! Now I just have to wait for it to ship.

And I need to find some way to get the July issue of GameInformer. I just got my Edge card like 3 weeks ago, and it takes 4-8 weeks for the magazine to start coming. And the July issue has a B2G1F coupon, which I could use this weekend to further my 360 collection.
What are you going to study at college?
The current plan is aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan. The major's still up in the air, but I'm destined to be an engineer regardless. :)

Cafeteria jobs that pay (an almost tax free) $8.65 an hour for minimal effort kick much ass. ;)

Couldn't you just get the issue from a GameStop or EB? They'd still have it in the stores, right?

Aerospace? Seems to me that Chem E. or Mech. E. would be far, far more useful, unless you're planning to move out of state to find a job, Walrus.

They have it, but they'd prolly make me pay for it cause most of the people who work at my EB are asses. Unless the short girl is there, since she's not so much. Eh. Paying 7 bucks to save myself 50 once I use the coupon isn't too bad though.

The catch is, even though the feds won't tax it, the state sometimes wants a cut. That's the way it worked in NY at least -- cause you'd have to report the income on your taxes and the state was all gimme gimme gimme. I know some people who got screwed cause they didn't realize they were probably going to owe the state money at the end of the year.

have you actually seen my picture when it was Strell'd, or are you just guessing that to make a joke?
(although people have insisted i look british, so you would be part right)

I'm proud of myself. I haven't bought a game all week. I haven't even gone inside an EB just to browse around. At this rate I can finally get that impulse game buying monkey off my back for good.

My name is now a verb.

People, there are few barriers one can break on here outside of post count and/or getting banned.

This is one of them.

How delicious.

We should write a list of achievements for the board, not limited to:
Starting a thread which gets over 50 pages of response
Being quoted in someone's sig
Told that you are loved by someone on the board

Etc, etc.

I'm safe - I filed a return this year and I actually got a small rebate. :D

I'm fine with that. I've been here for my entire life and, to be honest, I'm worried about the state's future. It's looking like our economy is going to continue on the nosedive it's been in for some time to come, unless the auto companies get lucky or find some genius strategy to turn things around.

That said, the overlap between aero and mechanical engineering at UofM is so much that it'd be easy to get a dual degree. I'm not sure if I'm going to shoot for that yet, but it's definitely an option.

Ah, garage sales kick ass. The random finds are always fun; today, it was a cel of Shredder from the original TMNT cartoon that, according to the sticker on its border, was actually used in creating an episode. That was worth a quarter, just for sentimental value. :D

And, of course, there are the games. Kid Chameleon, which I'd never actually bothered to pick up, was $3, and I spent $26 at another sale for Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2, and Batman: Vengeance. Nothing amazing, but I've had the Cube for less than a month so I didn't have any of them and I'm going to enjoy them. Especially Animal Crossing. It didn't come with the memory card, but I'll survive.

Garage sales suck. I bought a tv for $5 and it didn't work. In any case, I'll trade you a tv for that TMNT cel
Kid Chameleon
One of the finest games.

Has a good time last night at the LAN Party. I did well in the Naruto 4 tourney, with 3 wins and 2 losses. I'm kind of glad I didn't win, because the prize, a wall scoll, was one I already had so I didn't need another one. The only sour note was this one guy that complained about my controllers being crappy, whereas nobody else had any problems at all, so I'm guessing he couldn't handle losing and had to put the blame on somebody else. I went up to the room where the Guilty Gear X2 tourney was and the stink was pretty bad. I've never really smelt that strong of a geek stink before, so I didn't stay long and got home at about 4 AM.

Welcome to the club.
If I rember correctly, there are about about 5-6 other people who can make similar claims.

I must defer to those who came before me...MightySlacker still is the first person to get such treatment.

Awe, shit.

Didn't realize that Tales of Phantasia was on the 8.96 CC list.

Can't complain though, since apparantly FFIV was a goof and games are now being pulled.

I had to co-host a realty / finance radio show this morning.

I've never said the following so many times in one hour:

"Oh, yeah."

"Oh, yeah?"

"Really?"

"Haha."

"Haha. Really?"

"Haha. Oh, yeah."

"Haha. Oh, yeah?"

In fact, that's all I said.
