CAGiversary!
This got buried in the sticky/merge so I thought it should be reposted so people can actually find the list. This was originally posted by RavenHawk so he deserves the credit.

Thanks to Drakken for the recent update.

Many thanks to CrashSpyro123 for bringing this to our attention!

Thanks goes out to trustcompany1013 also for mentioning this in his thread...guess the sale started a little earlier than expected!

Speculation is that CC may be getting in more games from their warehouses, so don't give up. I personally know of 2 CC's that have the games pulled until the sale officially starts, so once again...don't give up! And ladies and gentlemen, don't forget to tip your listkeeper! *cough*Ikaruga*cough*
Just curious......has anyone scanned any accessories to see if any are on clearance?
like eyetoy? wouldn't you like to know?

I went to my "local" (I use that term loosely because the closest CC to me is nearly 2 hours away) CC again today, after hitting it up on Sunday morning to see if any of the games I missed were still there.

Sure enough I found LOTR: TT and Fifa 2004 for Gamecube buried amongst more expensive games, but noticed that all the other sections seemed very picked over (and well organized to boot). So the guy I tipped off to the sale on Sunday that works there came up to see what I was buying this time. He then informed me that they had pulled all games for the sale sunday, and anything I may find that rings up for 4.99 I'd have to buy for full price.

I told him how far away I lived and pointed out that I only wanted these 2 games, so he want back and got premission from his manager to sell them to me. While I was checking out we struck up a conversation. When I came in the first time, his manager had mentioned something about a man coming in on saturday and buying about 50 games. He said since then the man had come once more and purchased an additional 60 or so, all Xbox and PS2 games, and that he had been BLACKLISTED from all CC's.

I asked him exactly why, as I had heard many stories of hoarders and bulk buyers on this site. He said that since they had all his information on file, they looked him up on e-bay and found out that he was reselling the majority of them. They also found out that he was a moderator on VGtalk and our very own CheapAssGamer... when I asked for his username he said he wasn't sure, but that he was a member of the site himself and was wondering the same thing.

ADDITIONALY... this guy apparently had a friend who works in the corperate division of Circuit City, and tipped him off to the price mess up, and he was promptly terminated for leaking info. A pretty crazy story but one that has enough details to make it plausible.

So to all of you buying massive amounts of games and publicly flaunting your deeds... it seems some more proactive CC's are cracking down.

Additionally he said the PS2 and XBox bins wouldn't be too great.. but they had a huge crate of GBA games and a good selection of GC, and there would be no restocking "Just be here on Sunday morning when we open, it'll be worth it". So I guess I'll be making the drive one last time this Sunday.

I guess CheapyD than is going to need to make some changes.

So the plot thickens..........

That sounds pretty nutty.

I think this sale is starting to make us go a lttle nutty as jkam posted. I mean we are starting to get paranoid or into that stage, it could be you or you or you or whoever. It'll be a witch hunt.

Conspiracy theories abound.

It's good that they are black listing the fat wallet ass holes who come in and buy up half or all the games in stock and turn around and sell them on ebay.

I will be making a final trip to CC Sunday as well and I doubt I will return to the store until they have something else on sale. Sales are the only reason I ever go to CC.

While checking out the lame selection at my CC in Northeast Philly, I noticed some signs hanging near the games.

"Due to a computer error having certain games ringing up at $4.99 we can not offer these games at that price. Prices are as marked on games."

Not exactly word for word, but you get the message.
I wonder if the signs will still be up on Sunday?

My CC today had a bin of $4.99 games, I guess they dont care that its an error and the sale starts 7/11. I knda wish they had taken the games up so I could get some on Sunday.

There's a store in SoCal that already started the sale, they marked off a section for all the $4.99 games. Once the guy put up the $4.99 sale sign, hordes of people started pulling games off the shelf. I manage to get two games, but most of the games were gone.

The manager told me that they should recieve a new shipment for the sale on Sunday, unfortunately the crowd heard as well. Looks like I'll be having some competition on Sunday.

Is there any chance that you could post a picture of the receipt with Lord of the Rings : Two Towers. This was one of the games that I wanted but missed out on and my Best Buy has a ton. Thanks!

Went to three CC in San Diego, all of them cleaned out. All the game that were left were the really crappy sports / 'sports' titles.

Somehow I doubt that they're gonna get anymore in saturday.... stores don't tend to restock a clearance sale, unless they have a stockpile left in a warehouse somewhere, which is pretty unlikely... but I hope for your sake, that he's telling the truth.

I don't have a scanner at the moment, but I might be able to snap a pic of it with my digital camera and up it later this week.

add Omega Boost (PS1) to that list

Earlier this week there were 5 or so copies, i went back today and they were all gone, same with AitD: TNN.

Almost positive they got pulled

Damn, all this talk about not trusting red shirts is making me nervous. I went back to CC (Willowbrook, Houston TX) last night, and after doing hefty browsing (and finding NOTHING) a red shirt asked me was I looking for 4.99 games. I said yes, and he said that they've been pulled and that all CC stores are getting new games for Sunday. I believe him, if only because I couldn't find anything, and when I went on Monday, there was a sign that said "4.99 Games-Limit 1 Per Title Per Customer" (but there wasn't a bin, it was just over the general shelves), and it was gone last night. That CC is only 15 minutes away from me, and there are others, they're just further away. I might give them a call to make sure, however.

I went to 2 cc, and both had a decent amount of games left in the bins. One store had a 5 game limit on the games, and another store let me get as many as i wanted. They said there not sure if there going to get more games on sunday. If they don't, oh well i already gottan like 50 games from them, hehe.

hey alone, were you the one who picked up disgaea and rez from the cc on i-10? I heard someone was bragging about them. And that sucks that they are limiting people. It's good on one end so that the resellers who buy only to resell and don't play crap only get 1, but it sucks for the people like us who actually have games they really really want on the list...like the Capcom games and GG and GGX...*hint hint*...haha

I must've forgot to post this on Monday: Mega Man Legends 2 (PS1) rang up $5 for me. I didn't see it on the list, but it was sitting in the clearance bin at the store.

If you do get it up thanks a lot! Really greatly appreciated. Good luck on the finding games!

I drove an hour today to my nearest CC at State College, PA because I called them last night and they told me they had 4 bins of $4.99 games and they are selling them this week. I called the one in Altoona, PA and they told me they have a bin also but not much titles left. The guy said somebody cleaned them out but they are starting the sale this week and the next 3 weeks.
I picked up 51 games in all(ps2, ps1, xbox, gc, and gba) and only 1 double(MGS2:Substance XBox). I also got 23 games a few days ago when I was in Long Island, NY. In PA, I was told that there is a limit of 1 title and in NY the guy said that there might be a limit and he would check but he never came back.

I'd like to add "Wolfenstein" PS2 to the list. They had a few in the bins and tons on the shelf.

No. I've only been to the Willowbrook one. I've been looking for Capcom fighters too, but no luck. Here's to Sunday. :p

The $4.99 bin at the Wilkes-Barre, PA CC was all but wiped out when they set it up for the grand opening. I hit it mid-day today and all I found of interest was Genma Onimusha, which I missed in my previous visits to the store. Unsure if they'll be doing anything this weekend, but I sure hope so. I'll probably be checking the Dickson City CC again tomorrow, but it was pretty picked over when I visited in the beginning of the week.

I called about a copy of Disgaea there last weekend, and I went to pick it up that night, but I didn't really know the list of games that well at that point and missed a chance to get a ton of other good stuff for cheap. :( Still, getting Disgaea for $5 was fantastic and I'm glad other people had the chance to get the good stuff I missed, heh heh.

I have an extra copy of Capcom v. SNK pro for PS1 that I picked up if anyone is interested. Got that today along with Fear Effect 2. Some of the PS1 games on the list I didn't even bother with though. I don't think paying $5 for a game about slots is worth it...

PM me if you're interested

found out that the santa monica store i thnk there 2 westwood and one more is suppose to restock i dunno which one is, but they wont say heard it from another guy in CC so im hitting both

I went to my local CC in SoCal, and the guy said try Friday, they should be getting more games in. Right now they just have a small bin of marked $4.99 game with old sports titles, and PS1 games.

I was able to score a few games earlier in the week, and I noticed there were plenty of $4.99 games. But after going back the next day, there was nothing at all.

Yah, i went today (got paid) and saw that all the games they were willing to admit they had were in these 4.99 sale bins. It sucked, all they had were old sports games :whistle2:(. Any hope for the sale on sunday?

Richter,

I went by CC last night and the same girl that rang you up Sunday that was very nice about ringing you up and then wanting to dig through the games herself was working and saw me and wanted to know if I was looking for the $4.99 games and said that they had pulled all they could find until Sunday.

I hope there is not a huge crowd or a limit on the number we can get.

.. were you the dude that was behind me in line? (there was also some other guy there, long hair) hand a handful of games, written list, no basket? later went back into the rack and was looking for MM X7 o_O

Went to Cobb Pkwy (Cumberland Mall area) CC in Atlanta and didn't see much. I only looked at Xbox games, though. There were a few Morrowind copies (marked at $14.99 - I didn't ask to scan), NHL Hitz, and a Legends of Wrestling II. While I didn't go down the entire list, it looked like everything else was pretty new.
---List changes---

Remove from list- Commando(s) 2 for the PS2 is -NOT- $4.99. It rang up at $19.99.

Add Timesplitters 1 to the PS2 list (Timesplitters 2 is listed, but not 1). Rang up at $4.99
I just picked up Commandos 2: Men of Courage for the PS2 today for $4.99. It was the only 1 in the bin so I grabbed it faster than a crack-whore on a 20.

Springfield, IL was loaded, especially on PS2 games. The GC, Xbox, and GBA games were in the cardboard bins marked 4.99, there were only one of some like RLH for Xbox.

They actually had like 8 more outside of the bin that didn't fit, I'm wondering if they just put them out, nobody had bought, or if they keep refilling.

No Viewtiful Joe.

The CC I went to today had Buffy: Chaos Bleeds, Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer, Wakeboarding Unleashed, Fatal Frame, and F1 2002 (all PS2 versions) for a five spot as well. None of these are on the main list on page 1, so I might have gotten extremely lucky. They had Silent Hill 3 with a $4.99 sticker on it, but it still rang up at full price.

Well hell, I wish I'd thought about the Houston locations having Disgaea, I would've driven down there (I'm in College Station). I'm going back by my CC Sunday as soon as they open and if nothing turns out I think I'm going to call every one the Store Locator says is within 90 miles :)

San Diego CAGs -Sweetwater Rd Circuit City has begun to put their games into the cardboard bins. While I was there, they were searching the shelves and putting what they found in the bins. The selection that was left is pretty weak, but I did get Morrowind GOTY edition. They had one copy left, plus Cel Damage, Dark Cloud 1, and a bunch of other crap... I did see familiar titles on the shelves still so not all the titles are in the bin yet. They had plenty of Omega Boost PS1 copies though! I also asked if they planned on restocking any titles. They said no, and if they did, it wouldn't be for Sunday and they didn't know how long the pricing would last. Is it permanent? If so... man... I'll be heading there everyday hoping for restocks on certain games :)

You should've gotten that changed. I work at CC, and legally, if something has the wrong price on the actual product or on the shelf that it is on, someone at customer service has to give it to you at the price shown. Also, someone asked earlier if the CC system will ever say that there are no copies left even if there are a few hidden in the back some where. If there are any copies left anywhere in CC that can still be sold, they will show up in the computer systems, so none can really be 'hidden'.

Yeah, I thought about that, but the thing was, and since you work at CC you know about this, there was no CC barcode on it (the one that leaves the sticky stuff and the security tape when you try to peel it off). It just had a small CC price tag on it. The clerk had to scan the UPC on the back of the game to get the price. It makes even less sense since the game was in a security case (the ones you pop off at the register to get the game out of). I didn't sweat it since I got a nice stash out of there, and I already have the game.

I'm going to the Boise,Idaho CC tomorrow. This is my first trip there and I hope it isn't too picked over. I called tonight and they said they still had quite a bit left.

I'm rather excited by all this. heh

This week is going so slow. I can't wait for Sunday.

One question: Why is Morrowind GOTY YMMV? I have tried it multiple times at my CC and it hasnt worked but other CC have got it to work. Is that just a computer glitch? And don't worry, I tried PH and non-PH.

If anything, you would think the PH version would be $5 as it doesn't contain the expansion material. The GOTY version is definitely a more attractive bundle. As to why it's YMMV... dunno. My brother tried getting Commandos 2 which is listed here, but for him, it rang up $19.99 - another YMMV. I wonder if perhaps the pricing is based on sales in any sort of way? If location X sells a lot of M:GOTYs, then perhaps it isn't marked down? A stretch, but I see no logic to why it differs depending on location.

I went to my CC in Burlington, MA today. They basicly got cleaned out on Sunday and whatever was left was in the bin or on the shelves. I did score Devil May Cry and State of Emergency Xbox, and my brother got Super Trucks Racing. Syberia, Monster Rancher 3, and Virtua Fighter 4 were not $4.99. Most of whats left is about 15 copies of Oni, and games that people thought were $4.99 but aren't.

The weird part was that a very well dressed asian man was meticulously checking each and every game on the shelves for something good that may have been hidden. I don't think he found much either though.

So in the b&m and circuitcity.com, I scored:

Crimson Sea
Secret Weapons Over Normandy
Alien vs Predator Extinction
Shining Soul
State of Emergency
Devil May Cry
Super Trucks Racing

Oh, and I scored Metal Arms for $5 off bestbuy.com.

I think I did ok, didn't quite make out like a bandit like some of you, but I'll check back there Sunday... Oh, do they pricematch Target? They had tons of copies of La Pucelle Tactics, and my Target was cleaned out recently.

Has anyone tried Resident Evil 0? Hard to understand why they wouldn't add this one to the list since Resident Evils 2, 3, and Code Veronica X all retail for about $20 more. Thanks !
They had Silent Hill 3 with a $4.99 sticker on it, but it still rang up at full price.
That happened to me today with Crash Nitro Kart and WWF Raw 2. They told me someone apparently got overzealous with the price gun, but they did a price adjustment and gave them to me for the $4.99 price. I really didn't even have to ask, they just did it. Of course they instantly started pulling all the games from the bins again to re-check the prices.

On the flip side, I tried to get three other games that weren't marked as $4.99 but they were definitely on the list, and they all rang up $19.99. That makes me think perhaps CC did screw something up and this little conspiracy theory thing might not be so crazy after all. I can't imagine why it would have taken them five days to react though if it was all a mistake. More likely it was just all botched by CC corporate, and they simply can't get their $hit together.
