CAGiversary!
This got buried in the sticky/merge so I thought it should be reposted so people can actually find the list. This was originally posted by RavenHawk so he deserves the credit.

Thanks to Drakken for the recent update.

Many thanks to CrashSpyro123 for bringing this to our attention!

Thanks goes out to trustcompany1013 also for mentioning this in his thread...guess the sale started a little earlier than expected!

Speculation is that CC may be getting in more games from their warehouses, so don't give up. I personally know of 2 CC's that have the games pulled until the sale officially starts, so once again...don't give up! And ladies and gentlemen, don't forget to tip your listkeeper! *cough*Ikaruga*cough*

I just got back from going to Circuit City and the only games they had left was some games I never heard of and some basketball games. So I thought i was out of luck and started to go home.

Then I decided to head over to Target, but I found out they don't do price matching. So I went to Wal-Mart and I saw they had one of the games I wanted (Mario Kart: Super Circuit), then went to the service counter and told them that Circuit City had a bunch of games for $4.99. So they called Circuit City and they verified that the game was $4.99 - even tho the game was out of stock at CC.

Getting a game with a $29.99 price tag for $4.99 is fun.

Hum I wonder what they will do when the ad comes out and it's stated this is Clearnce Sale...
if that's the case.. I'm heading to Wallyworld and stocking up!

Man, guys the Wichita Falls, Tx CC was literally a gold mine. I picked up some great games through this deal. I ended up going back three times and continued to find better deals each time.

1st trip:
Disgaea (2)
Viewtiful Joe (2)
Chaos Legion
Mario Party 4

2nd trip:
Megaman X7
Super Bust a Move 2

3rd trip:
REZ
Rygar
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO

I've thrown down quite a lot of money but it was well worth it. Especially the copy of REZ I was able to snag! :D

Does anyone know if Beyond Good and Evil for PS2 is $4.99?

Oh by the way Explosion you lucky Son of &*^^&*, man i wish my walmart would do sometihng nice like that for me, that evil megaconglomerate. errrrr!

Damn, I wish my CC's would have had a copy of REz, Disgaea, or Marvel vs. Capcom. I went right as the deal broke on this site to 2 CC's and they didn't have any of those high profile games. Then I went later that night to 2 other ones and more of the same. I did manage to snag Mario Party and a few GBA games I wanted. Anyways congrats on the excellent haul!!

I went to the Arlington, Tx store and like every other store I've been to in this area the 4.99 bin is already out. They were bone dry. Seriously all they had was Tony Hawk 3 (GCN) and 2K sports titles.

On the other hand at another store I got some a few good games including PN03, Harvest Moon (PS2), The Kain Collection for PSone, and most shockingly of all, MGS 2:Substance (PS2).

The funniest thing was that it was marked 39.99 and in the Cube section. The clerk rudely told me that all 4.99 games were in the bin. When she price checked it her face was hilarious. Her look was one of "Oh crap I just got owned".

Overall though the stores are cleaned out. Seriously if stores aren't restocked, or if they aren't holding some stuff for Sunday, they are going to have some pissed off customers on Sunday, especially parents and people who nothing pf this sale.

That makes me think that adding more games is a good possibility. Generally if a game is not on the website it's game for clearance. Enter the Matrix (GCN), Billy Hatcher, and the Hulk are all non clearance, but not on the website.

I tell you one thing I will be checking thier online store Sunday morning for any new games added.

Oh and about the guy that supposedly bough 2700 dollars worth.

I am always respectful at sales, even when others aren't . I've had to stop people from removing games from my handbasket. If you pick up a game first well then if you're going to buy it's yours.

I tell you though, a person can only pyhsically take a couple of shoping carts to the register. If a guy had 7 carts loaded the last four are open season. I'm going through them and taking what I want.

Yes it varies with situation. If someone's at a store laoding up on groceries for a outreach, I'm helping you push. If you've got 5 carts of cheap games to hoard for Ebay, the carts you can't handle are open season.

Some may not agree, but that's my philosophy. Although I believe the 2700 story is just that,a story
The clerk rudely told me that all 4.99 games were in the bin. When she price checked it her face was hilarious. Her look was one of "Oh crap I just got owned".
hahahha

Just got back from ANOTHER CC store which only had like 5 Xbox games left. I picked up NBA Live 2002 just for the fuck of it (I really didn't want to go home empty handed) but they literally had nothing but old sports games left.

I asked the guy about a restock and he said no, this is clearance and that's it. I said "well the other CC said they were getting a restock. What's the deal?". He said most CCs pulled their stock and will have some games on Sunday but that particular CC did not, they just said "f-it" and put out all their games last week.

So if anyone goes to the CC in Vegas on Eastern the best deal I saw was SSX Tricky for Gamecube for $5 and Blitz 2003 for Gamecube for $5. There's not much of anything else left.
Hey mmm, what have you gotten so far any way?
Well, here we go :

From the website - NHL Hitz Pro (just came in the mail today)

From 4 total CC stores in Vegas - NBA Live 2k2, Grabbed by the Goulies, Dynasty Warriors 3, Blood Omen 2, Baldurs Gate 1, MLB Slugfest 2004, Star Wars Clone Wars, Dino Crisis 3, NFL Blitz Pro, Metal Gear Solid 2, Wakeboarding Unleashed, Syberia, and Moto GP 2. However, I traded Moto GP 2 to a member of this board for Links 2004.

All for Xbox.

Not too bad, 14 games total. I'll go back Sunday to see if they might put anything else out, and I'll check their website Sunday morning, but I'm happy with what I got.

Hey thanks for replying, i'll post mine after sunday after i make my final trips to CC.
http://www.playmoreconsoles.com/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=2395&st=0

Someone posted these actual lists from CC (8 pages). It was taken directly from CC.

Notice that many games that used to be $4.99 are now no longer, and that they've switched consoles in most cases.

*Im assuming this list is a list of $4.99 games.
Since they have shifted a lot of games from system to system, could that be indicative that they are adding more games to compensate for the sale officially starting on Sunday?
I was just at one of the CC's in Vegas and they had nothing of value. A couple of Lord of the Rings : Fellowship, a couple of Shreks, a few Scooby Doos, and a couple of Mojos.

Nothing exciting at all.
Thats much better than the crap out here in the seattle area..just all old sports titles.

iam suprised any store would still have REZ seeing the game
has been worth good money for so long.
Since they have shifted a lot of games from system to system, could that be indicative that they are adding more games to compensate for the sale officially starting on Sunday?
I sure hope so. That would make sense because they were expecting a much better selection for the officially sale. Now, people who are just now finding out about it will run over there and see old sports games and other horrible titles not even worth 5 bucks.

Does anyone who knows, or maybe a question for CC people actually, these lists that are going around the "official" deals, I realize they are for that particular store location, but does anyone know how acurate the lists are in regards to the date the sale started & the print date?

I'm wondering if they generated a list which did an inventory search for all the $4.99 skus, maybe all games that were there on 7/3 to 7/5 or 6,, would not show up if they had been sold already? :?

Like the 3 copies of REZ or MvsC2, an such, as the deal was hitting the net, people rushed out & bought out some of these stores inventory, would be interesting to see how the lists change, if you could have printed the list on the 3rd & again say Monday the 12th.. :) Some of these lists are probably missing a helluva lot of titles that they probably had the first day or two.

Still very interesting to check out!

Oh another question to all, Is anyone here, NOT going to check out their local CC on Sunday? :?:

Hehe.. I have a feeling pretty much everyone aware of the 4.99 thing is gonna check it out. That little idea in the back of your mind that they just MIGHT have some more games out is too tempting to just ignore.

No doubt. I went twice the first day, and once each day for the next 2 to one particular CC because I couldn't shake that feeling. Each day I managed to get something worthwhile too. I'm hoping for more goodluck on Sun.

At my CC today they told me they had moved all the games that should be on sale to the back to be ready for the sale. Luckily I had gotten there last sunday and got what I wanted mostly but I did get them to go in the back and check out some of the new items on the list and things I may have missed it didn't seem that they had gotten any new stuff in. My friend wants some cheap games though so I may just be going back on sunday.

This just means some CAGers dropped the ball 6 months ago. ;)

you are allowed to buy from CC as a reseller.
i have not seen one store say you can not by 70 games.
all stores i went to just limited 3 per title per sys. and most stores
where more than happy that you where buying the games as they needed more of those secuirty cases.
as for stores i hit if someone was looking for something i had in my cart
i was more than happy to give it to them.
in 9 stores i only found 2 semi rare titles.rest just common games.

Same here.

i stopped by 2 stores today. one was the one on hall road. they had a $4.99 bin set up, and everything was just tossed in there like it was a garbage can. it's a good analogy, actually, because most of it was indeed garbage. older sprts titles and whatnot. i almost picked up mlb slugfest, but then i remembered i don't like baseball. the best part is that the bin was made of cardboard, and stuff had slipped under the thing, so you literally had to reach down about 4 feet to get to certain games. then, after putting forth all this effort, you realized that you did it just to grab another copy of nba 2k3. they did have a couple copies of syphon filter 2 for the ps1, but i didn't bother. it's ok, though, because this is the store i crushed last sunday when i picked up like 30 games.

i also went to the circuit city at 13 and little mack in roseville again today. they had two bins set up, one for console games and one for gba games. it was very neat, but they also had far less stock. i managed to snag genma onimusha, the thing, and syberia (all for xbox). unfortunately, this was the last of each title. i almost grabbed carve, but decided i didn't care. i spoke quickly with a girl there and she said that she doesn't expect to get any new games for sunday, but she also said that corporate never really tells them anything either, so she's only taking an educated guess. we'll see what happens.

Couple games not on the list that I picked up.

PS2

Mobile Suit Gundam Journey to Jaburo
Silent Hill 2

The list has Silent Hill 2 for Xbox but not for PS2.

Nice. I picked up REZ months ago for $30 at Gamestop. If I saw it at CC I would snag as many copies as I could same goes for Ikaruga and Disgaea.

When I go back Sunday I really hope I can snag Disgaea and/or Ikaruga.

Another thing... I'm not sure this $2700 game buying spree is true. If those were all $4.99 games then thats over 500 games. To take 500 games up to the register, it would take about 7 to 10 baskets. This would also mean the associate would have to individually scan 500 items, which would easily take up to an hour. (If each item takes 2 seconds to appear on the screen after scanning and even assuming the person ringing out had an incredible average of 5 second for picking up the next game, removing the protecter, and bagging the game this would still take 7*500 seconds, or 58.3 minutes) Not only that, but the computer systems only allow for 100 items per receipt so the associate would have to start up 4 new sales (charging the customer the amount after each one) once the first one was full. This alone is highly unlikly to happen, but the purchases would have to take place in many different stores because none of them were stocked that well to begin with. Just to give you something to think about.
Benh2006, I'm in the St. Louis area and heard this story from multiple people about this major asshat. He went into the St. Peters/Mid Rivers Mall store on either Sunday or Monday and cleaned them out of $2700 (heard it was first $2200 on Monday, though $2700 came from one of the CC reps over there who I spoke with yesterday). He also did similar things to the other stores in the area, at least the Chesterfield store. From what this guy did, the stores in the St. Louis area (at least this came from one manager @ Chesterfield) limited it to 1 copy of a title per person. As I was only buying 1 copy for myself, I wasn't worried. Though, when the stuff I really wanted like Secret Weapons, Resident Evil, Ikaruga and Viewtiful, and I couldn't find it at any of the stores, I'm sure this guy had more than a little to do with it. Plus, they freely admitted he was saying he was going to resell them, which means they shouldn't have let him hit the door, as that's being a dealer and most places frown on/disallow it happening.

I certainly don't doubt what you're saying and the numbers don't seem to be way out of line, as I've seen the whole process numerous times this week, though I know I've heard the story of this jackass more than once, in more than one store.

I've made my rounds to all of the stores in the area, dug through the shelves and bins, and had all the very nice people at all the stores scan everything before I went to a register to make sure I was getting the right stuff. I found out about it on Sunday and went to at least one store a day every day since.

The annoying part is that they should have done a 1 copy of a title per person from the start, if they have a ridiculous amount of games to buy.
Wow you guys were right about all that. The infamous man in the St. Louis area came into my store today and bought another 40 GBA games. I rang him up for it and I was talking to him too. He said he hit all the CC's in the STL area (12 stores I believe) and has spent nearly $3000. This man was a Subway manager who said that he was going to wait for like 10-20 years and turn around and sell them all as antiques. I asked if he knew that lots of people hated for buying so many games and he said he was aware of it because 'cheapassgamer.com' is where he finds his game info. Ironic huh? I also found out that only 18 games will ring up per ticket, not the 100 that I thought it was.

Question for CC employees, do you guys generally restock on Saturday night to prepare for Sunday morning? Will the games be stocked and ready when CC opens on Sunday morning? It will help us CAGs to find out when the games will be ready. I live 30-45 minutes away from the nearest CC, and I hope I don't get there Sunday monring to find out the games weren't even stocked yet.
W0rd, im going with a list on sunday as soon as they open praying that I will get the games I want, im even bringing two friends to help me gather up everything.
To answer your question, no we usually don't restock on Saturdays, unless something new is being released on Sunday (which rarely happens). The trucks that restock us come in on Wednesdays and Sundays, so later on into the day we might get more, but I doubt it. This big sale is a 'clearance sale' meaning we are trying to get rid of these extra games to make room for big new releases coming up. Unless the main supply warehouse has more copies that they want to get rid of too, I don't think these games will be restocked. If the CC that you're at was holding out until Sunday to sell the games then you may be in luck, but if you store has been selling them since they got the list in like mine, then you might end up being disappointed.

Rabidmuskrat: could you possibly make a .txt file or something that shows the history of the list when you update it and upload it?

for example:

7/9/04
Added
some game
this game

Removed
that game
other game

Thanks benh2006. Maybe I'll call them first before I make the trip on Sundy. Maybe it's not necessary to be there Sunday morning because the games might not be stocked anyways.

Hello benh2006 this is W. Alan McCollough, President, CEO, and Chairman of Circuit City Stores, Inc. The information you have just given is strictly confidential and you are here by relieved of your duties as a Circuit City employee. Trial pending.

Good Day

I work hard and I go on my computer after doing so to get my game on for cheap.

I'm really only looking at this thread so I could find employees to fire.

...

I don't know who your trying to fool and why.

I predicted someone would point that I posted on this thread.

Many people know that my online alias is "Explosion", so I posted that message so certain Circuit City employees (like benh2006) wouldn't become suspicious.
Does anyone know if Beyond Good and Evil for PS2 is $4.99?
Yes. Got the last one at the Durham, NC store on Thursday. Was marked $19.99 not in the bin but rang up $4.99. The funny thing is the night before I was there and an employee told me it was a great game no one bought, but I told him I didn't want to spend $20. Apparently he was unaware it was $5. Got home and noticed the reviews and it was on the list. Went back the next day and got it.

My stash (didn't get too many):
Durham NC store (pretty picked over, but there was some on shelves):
Tony Hawk 3 (GC)
Beyond Good & Evil (PS2)

Cary NC store (this one had the most on Wed):
Lufia (GBA)
Lunar Legend (GBA)
Threads of Fate (PS1)
Maximo (PS2)

Raleigh NC store:
Tony Hawk 3 (this one is a gift)
Legaia 2 (PS2)
Castlevania Lament of Innocence (okay not $5 but was a decent deal at $15)

I got the biggest letdown the other day...I was going through the GBA looking for 4.99 games and I found a copy of Grandia 1 for psone, but that bad boy rang up at 31.99!! Dang...

I called my circuit city here in Cleveland, and they said that they had to pull everything until Sunday now. I'm going to try and get there first thing, but I don't go to circuit city often, so I have a question. Do mst of the stores have all or most of the titles on the 4.99 list, or do they only have various titles per store...? :)

I find that hard to believe, you might want to check again, they might have the wrong price tag on iit. I've seen that with the newer tags that they "repriced" the title might of been for some other game got stuck on it, or possibly it just scanned wrong, or the computer thought it was a something else completely. I believe I priced that one about 6 months ago, & it was $15 then. But that is definitely old enough that it should be on sale. Pretty much all the old games I have tried came up on sale, I bought Breath of Fire IV $5 Last sale they did I bought both Breath of Fire III & IV & also the Lunar SSSC in the big cardboard box, they were all cheaper that that. So it must of been an error somewhere.

C'mon, does anyone really think CC would say, "hey, we just sold a buttload of $4.99 games early, so to compensate and make the gamers happy we'll put a bunch more games on the list that weren't supposed to be sold at $4.99 anyway!"

Hell no!

People will see the ad and migrate into stores this Sunday, and maybe find a title or two, maybe not. But CC is a business, people! They aren't going to take a wash on this!

Jeremy

I'm really sick of seeing this exact question or a variation of this question.

It's getting annoying at this point.

The CEO of CC is an asshat. And anyone trying to impersonate him is an even bigger asshat pretending to be an asshat. :)
