CAGiversary!
This got buried in the sticky/merge so I thought it should be reposted so people can actually find the list. This was originally posted by RavenHawk so he deserves the credit.

Thanks to Drakken for the recent update.

Many thanks to CrashSpyro123 for bringing this to our attention!

Thanks goes out to trustcompany1013 also for mentioning this in his thread...guess the sale started a little earlier than expected!

Speculation is that CC may be getting in more games from their warehouses, so don't give up. I personally know of 2 CC's that have the games pulled until the sale officially starts, so once again...don't give up! And ladies and gentlemen, don't forget to tip your listkeeper! *cough*Ikaruga*cough*

No Onimusha Warlords is the GH title, Onimusha 1.

Whatever happens this Sunday, tomorrow, let's just all be glad that through months of experience of keeping eye out for killer deals and keeping up to date with cag.com, it has given us the edge over other gamers who would only see that ad tomorrow only to find that NBA Inside Drive 2002 and MLB Slugfest left in the $5 bin.

We should be fortunate.

I'm going today. Hopefully since Monday my CC has restocked or at least maybe I'll find a copy of Secret Weapons Over Normandy and/or Pikmin

Gamer 3:16, which Circuit City in Cleveland did you call? Because I may be going to the CC in Randall and if they pulled the games.... its kinda pointless
Wow you guys were right about all that. The infamous man in the St. Louis area came into my store today and bought another 40 GBA games. I rang him up for it and I was talking to him too. He said he hit all the CC's in the STL area (12 stores I believe) and has spent nearly $3000. This man was a Subway manager who said that he was going to wait for like 10-20 years and turn around and sell them all as antiques. I asked if he knew that lots of people hated for buying so many games and he said he was aware of it because 'cheapassgamer.com' is where he finds his game info. Ironic huh? I also found out that only 18 games will ring up per ticket, not the 100 that I thought it was.
If that's the case this guy is a total idiot. The vast majority of these games will be able to easily be found with little to no demand for less than $5 in 10-20 years. Look at Atari VCS or NES-era games now. Only the rare ones or the most popular would command more than $5. If you think Super Duper Sumos sealed is going to sell for more than $5 in 20 years, I feel free to laugh right in your face    I'm sure Disgaea and a couple others might still command $10-20 or something possibly, assuming they haven't be re-released in a collection or something.

Another thing, "investments" like this are incredibly stupid. This guy should have taken the $3,000 and put it in an IRA instead, or at least the stock market. History has shown he would get a far, far better return there. In fact, there's no comparison really. Buying games for an "investment" is incredibly stupid, and so is this person evidently.

I completely agree, elprincipe. There's two types of games that make it an antique in 10-20 years: 1. Very popular games that most people hold dearly and wouldn't let go for a huge amount (ala sealed Chrono Trigger SNES $200-300) or 2. A very, very good game that becomes overlooked and is worth alot in 5+ years (ala Suikoden which is going for no less than $120-150, and that's used! And Suikoden 2 easily going for $80-100).

There is no room for mediocre to average games to make profit off of in a decade or so.

Besides, gaming has become so big here in the US that most games are sold enough that even if it's that damn good, it doesn't attain "rare" status. THe only ones that I think might sell for more than the original MSRP in a few years are Shenmue 2 especially if Shenmue 3 happens to be a big hit (Xbox owners, consider yourselves suckers if you don't have this one), Panzer Orta, REZ (though it's only $30 on gamestop, it's constantly on backorder), and definitely Suikoden 3.

I just called my CC here in KY. I asked them if the games they had left were it and the clerk said "The games in the 4.99 bin were mostly dead titles(his words not mine)and we got a shipment BUT were told to hold them till sunday".
So who knows maybe they will have something, Hope it's not some variation of black friday tommrow-lol.
Good luck everyone.
we got a shipment BUT were told to hold them till sunday".
Maybe CCs are getting shipments we don't even know about. I don't think there will be much there on Sunday but there is still that slim chance that will make me show up.

Great so not only are we going to fight other internet savy folks, but the general public as well?

Wal-mart on a black friday. Should be fun!

The idiot would be much better off just trying to turn the games around now on eBay for a couple dollars profit each. I could see people buying the $5 games for $7-$10. Hell, I might be willing to grab a couple for that price. I'd hate to see the financial statements for his Subway store - lots of red ink, I would expect.

Regardless, CC is opening 11am on Sundays, I believe. I know most will go check...I don't want to, but I must. This thread will be dead from 9am-12pm and once people start getting back from CC around noon, this thread's gonna open up like a f'in pinyata. It'll be interesting to see what people get, if any.

I hope I don't have to knock out any city folks,

Suikoden 1 going for no less than $120-150 is a joke, that can't be right, it's about $25-50 tops. I've bought & sold for under $35 and see it alot around that price still.

Now Suiky II is a bit higher priced, if you look you can find it for a reasonable price I've bought it a couple times now for under $50 complete, I've ebayed it for around $100 ;)

Most higher priced Atari games were the ones passed over in the clearance bins for $5 Take a look at my www, and see if you could aquire those for less than $2k MIB today ;)

In fact the Quadrun in the center there, it's got original shrinkwrap still on it, only cut at the top to open & play game, the price tag is still on it, at $5.99, then was scratched out & $4.99 is handwriten on it. I'm not gonna go into how much I paid, but I'd bet you could buy a couple hundred clearance titles for the price of one Quadrun now, and if in 20 years you found that one diamond in the rough, it would have been worth it. :p

Seriously though I doubt anything in todays market will ever be in the same league as Atari. It was new ground, and these truly are classics in every way, and what got people into gaming, and what helped to make it what it is today. Games from back then were not as widely distrubuted or produced, so there are many games that truly are Rare. No Pac-Man isn't one of them. But most PS1/2, X-box, even the recalled title here or there, there's still no comparison to a rare game from 20 years ago, by some dude in his Garage selling games mailorder.

This rumor of some dude buying $2700 in games is BS. I think Cheapy made it up! ;)

I can see many people lined up in front of the store before it opens, lists in hand, and when they all rush in for the bins they start pushing the people in front of them down and running them over. As they get to the bins they see that the damn employees took all of the good games and all that are left are sport games. Needless to say, I am going to be there when the doors open.

The only game left that I want is Panzer Dragoon Orta and I would ALMOST rather pay $20 for it than fight the crowds in the morning.

bb said they would need an ad or copy of receipt. i was thinking maybe i would get the most accurate internet list and copy it. then id bring it to best buy show them to give them an idea whats on the list. if they dont believe me they can always call. i dont know if it will work, but since hardly any1 is posting their receipts i have to try.

Do you think there will be big crowds? Last Sunday a lot of people already knew about it and there were only 3 people waiting outside my CC. Maybe there will be but I will be there anyways.

Just a heads up, despite what the website said about CC opening up at 11am on sunday, mine opened up at 10am which sort of screwed me because 2 guys had about 30 games when I went at 11am. I ended up getting VJ, DOA:XBV, and MvsC2, but I was satisfied with those three games

Ugh, I have to work tomorrow and there's a CC right near my job. :(

Actually, does anyone know if the CCs in NYC have anything stored in the back? Everyone I talked to barely even knew they worked at a CC at all.

Of the three CCs I hit throughout the week, it sounds like what they had is all they are going to have. Union Square looked like they had some new stuff on Wednesday, but nothing great - just a lot of GBA games.

All the stores were hit pretty hard last Sunday, so I would consider them done.

Suikoden 3 shouldnt be *that* hard to find, it's gotten a release with a $30 MSRP

NYC CC status: Cleared
Been to 4 CCs. 3 had bins with like 3-5 games in it and the other one didnt even have a bin.
Anyway nearly all of the games have been cleared in the NYC area.

I was able to get to CC yesterday and picked up Dino Crisis 3 (which was hidden behind some Manhunt copies on the main shelves), Robotech: the Macross Saga (GBA, it was in the bin), and Stuntman (also GBA). The only one I've played so far is the Robotech game. I like it, plus it came with this little Robotech toy. ^_^

All rang up $4.99.
Redident Evil (the remake) rang up $5 at the CC I went to, just in case you want to add that.
Why couldn't they just add Resident Evil 0 to that list and just clear all the Resident Evils out? That's pretty much the only GC game that my Circuit City has now. Maybe come Sunday...

I just went to our CC in Springfield, MO. They told me Sunday they pulled games for this Sunday, but I went today and found a 4.99 bin with nothing but crappy sports games...I hope they have stuff held back...it won't hurt to check at least.

I went to two of the Circuit City stores here in San Anonio TX, and at both, the store workers told me that the sale is already going on and that all games were in the special $4.99 bins. Not a lot was left (did see PS1 Blaster Master, which I passed on). I plan on going tomorrow anyway to see if anything new is put out, even though workers stated everything already was out.

Also, asked worker to scan a copy of GC Beyond Good and Evil, and it rins up as $19.99. Maybe things will be different tomorrow. We'll see.

I hope this doesn't give anyone false hope, but my Best Buy just got in 10 copies of NBA Live 2003 for GCN. Yes you read that right 2003.

The point is that even if a game is discontinued, if the DC has stock it must be cleared. Therefore it is not out of the question that a game like say Viewtiful Joe could be shipped to stores in order to clear any wharehouse stock.

Again don't get your hopes up, but the possibility of more games being recieved is not out of the question, but if it happens it will be on a very limited basis.

Status of CC in Orange, CT is Picked Clean. Today picked up Tribes, MDK 2 Armaggedon, and Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance (for 1 Freaking Cent)....But that's it theres is nothing left and doubt they will be restocking at all...

Which two? When I went last Sunday the CC on 410 near Bandera not only had $5 games on the shelves, they had full price games in the bin. I'm hoping that the CC next to North Star Mall has some Sunday, as I showed up there rather early Sunday morning and entire rows of games were pulled from shelves nowhere to be seen. Then again, that store is right next to like 3 different game stores, all dastardly enough to buy their entire stock.

Hit up my CC today. Picked up:

Mega Man Zero (GBA)

Guy said he had no clue if they'd get any new stock for the sale tomorrow. The shelves were very empty, and most of the $4.99 games in the three bins they had out were crappy. I literally got the last game that was really worth buying. There were tons of $5 games, they just all sucked. I'm not holding my breath for a restock at this point. The tally:

1 CC worker said they would NOT restock.
1 CC worker said he doubted that they would restock.
1 CC worker said he had no idea.

Yippee, CC is such a great place to gather information. :p

If you are refering to Orange, CA then ya I called there too and no more restocking fellas. What you see is what you get. It is a full clearance!

I hope I don't have to knock out any city folks,
city folks? where are you from if you're from the twin cities? >_>

my speculation is that the higher-ups told them a "need-to-know" basis and only certain people know that they're really getting stocked, so it could be that they are playing dumb so that there won't be asshats that camp outside overnight and buy every single good game once it's 10:01am.

I mean, it's a perfect plan, don't you think? I just went today and saw CC employees doing some promotion on selling something once you walk-in. What better chance to grab all the people you can with a bigger $5 video game sale?

It's all in speculation really. I can't be there when it happens, I'll be at work, heh.

Not sure if this has been answered but....

I saw alot of those games on the shelf at my CC, but only NHL games in the bin. Would those games on the shelf ring up as 4.99?

You gotta good point there. It could very well be a "need-to-know" basis.

ill post my final discoveries tomorrow.

gonna hit CC maybe one or 2 more times.

everyone i talked to said they weren't restocking
No Onimusha Warlords is the GH title, Onimusha 1.

Whatever happens this Sunday, tomorrow, let's just all be glad that through months of experience of keeping eye out for killer deals and keeping up to date with cag.com, it has given us the edge over other gamers who would only see that ad tomorrow only to find that NBA Inside Drive 2002 and MLB Slugfest left in the $5 bin.

We should be fortunate.
i agree. cag is my favorite website b/c of the camaraderie and the best deals online.

i would trade all the craptacular $5 games i got for those 3 :p

So for a fact, even if they are not in the bin, they will ring up as 5 bucks?
Oh and I got State of Emergency

Of the 10 I've bought, 8 were not in the bin (I bought most of them on days before they even had the bins in the store). All $4.99.
