Speculation is that CC may be getting in more games from their warehouses, so don't give up. I personally know of 2 CC's that have the games pulled until the sale officially starts, so once again...don't give up! And ladies and gentlemen, don't forget to tip your listkeeper! *cough*Ikaruga*cough*

Nutts, I noticed the same things. I picked up Spy Hunter and Star Wars: Obi-Wan for the Xbox last week at $4.99 each and decided I didn't want them, so they went back. I was a different CC and noticed they were in the bin, but found the same things as you, the UPC's were covered up and the sticker on the front was one of the "Value Game" ones, which means they're automatically $14.99 or $19.99. Both those two games were in that state when I found them elsewhere.

I think that CC is going back and changing the stickers on these games that "used" to be $4.99 for the "Value Game" stickers, so they're $14.99 or $19.99. One of them I had them check the back UPC and it rang up the same way, so I'm sure they're changing it in the computer as well.

Sounds like the sale isn't quite the sale they made it out to be.
 
I ran into this same problem yesterday. I rose a stink about it, and the manager ok'ed it. Just raise some hell, and they should let you have it.

That is assuming there's something to make a stink about. Hasn't been much at all since last week, and mostly a game here, game there, kind of situation.

I've definately seen that it's YMMV when trying to do a price match at BB, at least with with the ones in my area. They redefine anal for price matching, as the one closest to my house won't even call another store (CC, TRU, Target, whatever) that's not the closest physical store to them. Their corporate policy is that they'll match for someone having it in stock within a 25 mile radius of the BB store you're at, though this store will only call the physically closest store to their location, not another location that has the same item in stock for the lower price.

If I came in with a receipt from another CC from a whole different area, I doubt they'd give me the time of day, since they're locked into only bothering to make the call with a ad flyer or something like it, and then they'll only call that one store. If they don't have it, I'm SOL. The one time a Target had the game I was trying to PM was at the other side of town, they actually told me I'd need to drive to the other side of town to deal with the Best Buy over there. Needless to say, I told them where they could stick it and went elsewhere.

I've complained to the corporate BB office about this store, but it doesn't seem to do any good. Which is why I've been going to CC for my last few game purchases, since they matched without even a question.
 
From that ebay auction, you can see the residue left from peeling the price tag from some of the games. However it doesn't see to be all CC games cause he has Siren in there.

There's a similar asshat in the St. Louis area that's done the same thing that the guy you found is doing. Cleaned out a bunch of stores, claiming he's a "collector", when he admitted in-store to other customers that he's a reseller. Why CC didn't kick him out of the store is beyond me.

Before you guys start the witchhunt/lynching/burning, look at the seller's feedback and previous auctions. They've had a lot of other auctions for lots, since May (as far as I could go back) so this is may not be from the CC deal.

Definately something I'll look over in the future, though if they've been doing this before this sale, makes me wonder how they're getting those past lots. The only reason I'm looking at it with a curious look is the titles being on the CC list, as well as some others. If they were all on the list, then I'd be not so surprised. I'm just going to avoid any of the eBay stuff while this whole mess gets sorted out.

I came across a seller on Ebay who I think might be the guy who I saw at CC on Sunday (7/11). . . . username is "burpburp" and he is charging people $6!!!! for shipping. . . . .he may not be the guy, but I can tell based upon his inventory so far that he could've only picked up certain titles at the CC I was at. . . . . .***boycott this seller and spread the word***

I can explain this. When a game goes from regular edition to platinum/greatest hits, it changes package but retains the same barcode for stock purposes. They are meaning to clean out the OLD non- greatest hits games because they are discontinued while retaining the greatest hits games (hence new barcode in system).

I don't think many people will bid on that, the starting bid is too high: I mean, he could probably make 600-700+ if he started the auction at like 25 dollars, because it'd raise up further and further... Starting a bid at nearly 900 dollars for a bunch of games, (most even having doubles), isn't the wisest thing to do, just my opinion.

I took a drive up the PALISADES Mall with my wife and son..

Went to Dave & Busters..EB/Two Arcades etc,etc.

I hit the Circuit City in the mall..
I was surprised...they still had a Cardboard display with $5.00 Games in it...Two of them..
An employee(She) was putting games in the Cardboard display..She had a whole cart full of them.(Sames titles as I got)..
She was taking them out of the security clear plastic cases that are usually on the shelves...(she also had a list.
So what she was doing was taking the games that scan for $5.00 off the shelf and putting them into the TWO Cardboard displays.
I was picking through games that were in the Cardboard display while she was coming over with a few at a time.
They had at least 50 PS titles 20 GBA..20-30 PS2 Games and I'd say 10 Xbox titles.
But I got there while she was putting doing all this and I honestly couldn't wait around...I didn't go to the mall for Circuit City
The games were not yet marked $5.00..so to verify they were $5.00 She had to take whatever I picked up and scan it at the far register..
So I grabbed a few...I'm not greedy....Stuff I will play...I'm really not looking to buy a lot of these....
They had a bunch of games and a ton of 1 cent demos type items....Like the THU in the pick.
I thought about buying them all,but she said some may scan higher then 1 cent..

I was a pain to keep scanning everything...She had to even though she had some kind of a list.

Our bag went off at the door alarm and the employee was shocked that we got all those games for $5.00 each.

So I believe the sale is still going on..She was still putting games out...a lot of them....Getting them off the shelves then coming back to the Cardboard displays..Working REAL SLOW....

If I would of waited around..I probably would of came out of there with a ton of good games....

Ya know here's a funny thing. When I went to my CC in Orlando, FL today I asked an associate to show me what games were 4.99 in the computer. Then I see Mortal Kombat DA for Xbox for 1 cent!! However on the display it said 19.99 after CC put those horrible "value" sticker on it. Yet she told me she couldn't sell it to me b/c it was for a promotion or something like that. I was like ya BS now ppl will really want to buy an Xbox b/c they get MKDA free!! :roll:

I have had some success with price matching, but the store required a receipt. A copy was acceptable together with the ad.

They had Panzer Dragoon Orta and Secret Weapons in Normandy, but alas, no receipts for those games.

So, if anybody would be so kind to post some receipts, especially with these games, I, and others I am sure, would be grateful. It would be far easier than searching through 20 topics for something that may or may not exist.

Just so you know, I am aware of 10 copied receipts so far.

As far as I know it didn't, but playing the thing made your eyes hurt.

Daryll, Your collection is very impressive. I woul especially kill for your AES and arcade cabinets.

Looks like the deal is breaking down. Went to my local CC to see what was left. Had them price check a couple of items on the list, PS2 Virtua Fighter 4 and GC Legends of Wrestling and neither came up with the sale price.

Virtua Fighter 4 had the new CC Value Game sticker on the front and a new UPC sticker over the old one inside the security box, so it scanned at $19.99.

GC Legends of Wrestling was in the bargin bin and I thought what the heck, but it was scanning in at $14.99 - so looks like there was some repricing done by CC.
