"The Replacements" - Madden 10 Fantasy League Season 3; Super Bowl

Arg, EA is stupid...So apparently if I invite people they still need the pw; kind of redundant. Anyhow I'm sending everyone the pw on XBL now since CAG only lets me message 5 of you at a time.

cant wait for draft! wooo season 2! kind of stinks that we have the same schedule as last season but oh well.

Boy i'm about to ask a dumb question but here goes. I got the password for the league but what is the league name? The old league look like it is about to rookie draft. Also are there current roster and rating updates?

I was messing with the old league to make sure it would do a rookie draft and not restart itself. Invites have been sent to everyone, this franchise is using roster/ratings as of yesterday (not the update from today). In the online menu in Madden select "Online Franchise" then look at your invites.

Look in your invitations in the My Franchises menu.

And I missed my first round pick. Oh well. Instead of joining the room, I was waiting for it to say "commish has activated the draft" or something along those lines.

I don't think the rosters used are that updated. The good Steve Smith (NYG) was rated a 77 and I believe even prior to yesterday's update he had already been moved higher than that.

I would play my week 1 game right now, but my POS internet connection has been going in and out for the past hour. I'm just REALLY glad it didn't pull this shit in the early rounds of the draft. I made it to about round 39. Once I had all my starters and a few backups, I started losing interest, haha.

It's nice that the CPU felt I needed 8 receivers though. I checked back in round 49 and saw that it still hadn't drafted me a 3rd string QB, so I jumped in and grabbed one myself. Then, two rounds later, it drafted a 4th QB. :wall: Also, I did a quick rundown of the team schedules and I know we're missing a few NFC teams still, so hopefully this balances out. But some teams only play human opponents 3 times, while others have 7 games against human counterparts.

I had to double check a few teams because for some, the game lists the bye week as "CAG1 vs CAG1". Others, it only shows the owner's name once. Not sure why this is, but I've also been wondering why the temperature in Houston's dome has been 368 degrees for my past couple games in the other league. EA just being EA, I guess. Anyway, I'll get my game played tomorrow...assuming my internet gets its head out of its ass. :)

Not a bad game on my end, but I was on the receiving end of a pretty bad screw job. Two red zone interceptions, and a HUGE run that would of left me down around the 6 yard line was called back due to holding.

I do like this team a lot better than last year's though. You can never go wrong with a musical reference at the WR position.

I looove my team.

Though I don't understand the CPU at all for auto drafting. I left in maybe the 10th round or so and filled out the base of a lot of my roster but was still missing a Center and maybe an end. Either way I had at least 3 spots open (not counting kicker/punters) that needed to be filled for starters. What does the CPU do? Drafts a TE that same exact rating of the one I drafted before I left to get my laundry. I'll probably run some double TE sets now but it was a bit unnecessary.

And screw whoever took Abram Elam and Harrison! I was trying to fill my team with some Browns for backups! I got a few though.

I'm just throwing this out there but there was a roster update. I was wondering what it would take to be applied. Now I understand we all would have drafted a little differently had we had the update but take a look at the changes perhaps they actually help you. Also yes they help me especially at RB Ray Rice goes from an 80 to an 86. I can live with the current rosters no big deal but if we all agree then we should give it a go if possible. Now the important part is ALL agree because even if it completely screws just one of us I wouldn't think it would be fair. But if we all could get some needed bumps at positions I say why not.

Well we all drafted looking at the current ratings. I don't think it's really fair just because you knew Rice went up 6 points and I didn't that you'd get him for that value. Not only that (and this is probably more important), there's no way I'm doing another fantasy draft for a while. It took for-ev-er.

If there was a way to just import the ratings then maybe we could have that debate, but there definitely isn't. And like I said, it's really not fair to everyone if it was even possible.

Actually I can roll with the current ratings that's fine. As for me I had no idea Ray Rice increased. But I could see how it looks.

Hah, my bad, didn't mean to make any accusations there. But yeah, it'll be sort of a crapshoot assuming no one knew increases/decreases.

Are we going to allow others to join up to 16 teams going into the season?

One other question I had was are we going to keep this league? as in just go to season 3 so that way we dont have to do another draft and we get to switch up the schedule?

hey can i join in as one of the NFC north teams, and if the draft is done is there anyway i can see which one of those teams rosters would best suit me ?

ooo yea my gamertag is Mr Grand Cru

You can't update the roster after the league is created, so it's kind of fruitless to discuss doing so.

I don't see any reason why we wouldn't want to fill the remaining spots to 16.

Assuming you're allowed to join, you can join the league as whoever, then take a look at the players on each team in the North, leave the league and rejoin as the team you want.

The site is down now, but I'll try to take a look if you don't hear from seen later this afternoon. I would guess he'll pop in here, but PMing him wouldn't hurt.
Oh I cant wait to get home and play my first game.
Seriously. I drafted a bit of a smash mouth, heavy D, heavy run team so I'm looking forwarded to seeing how it plays out. I usually pass a ton. Not that Matt Ryan and Braylon Edwards can't pass and catch though. :D

I held the Redskins to 28 yards of offense in my first game. I'd say I'm satisfied with my defense. :)

man wtf I hate the picks the CPU picked for me after I left the draft.

TRADE BLOCK:

HB Pierre Thomas OVR 80
WR Randy Moss OVR 96
LOLB David Thornton OVR 81

WANT:

Speed WR (Desean Jackson, Crabtree, Maclin, etc.)
TE OVR 85+ (good catching)
DT OVR 75+
QB OVR 80+
CB 85+

Would also like to trade SS Simpson OVR 71 and FS Byrd OVR 72 for a higher OVR SS
Flexible with trades. Willing to trade down in a position to go up in another

Season Opens with MegaTrade©

So I got the #1 overall pick last night, unfortunately I was like 30 seconds too late to take who I wanted and got autodrafted. Thankfully JStryke was willing to make a deal and we were able to orchestrate this blockbuster:

Giants get:
CB Nnamdi Asomugha
QB Donovan McNabb

Dolphins get:
CB Rashean Mathis
QB Peyton Manning

Top 3 CBs for you.

Bears:
Townsend 78
Cason 77
Wesley 65

Packers:
Clements 84
Lito Sheppard 77
Strickland 63

Vikings:
A. Henry 78
T. Porter 78
R. Hood 73

Giving BigAt Nnamdi is like giving the Terminator a rail gun!!! He is merciless with his corners!!! Trust me I know I lost to him 3 times last year!!!! LOL...

FYI- not trade crapping at all the trade was on the complete up and up. Good trade for both

Lol, I was thinking the same thing.

Well good info to know anyways for strategy lol, But I cant wait to play you zero. I want my revenge for the playoffs last year. :)

Funny thing is, I missed my first round pick as well, and having a top tier defensive player does nothing for my play style. ;)

And let's just say, after owning Flacco last year, I'll take any upgrade at QB I can get.

Azu, I'll trade you my LG Daryn College OVR 75 for your DT Peko Domato

OR I would like to work out a deal to get Maclin...

let me know if you're interested

No thanks.
It's not a bad deal per se, but I have somebody playing LG, but I need a techincal LG to play my game.
And Maclin is too vital to my game plan.
If somebody has an awesome (85+) LG, then I might be interested in an upgrade.

Seen, if you could drop one of the Falcons LGs, I'd be eternally grateful (well, not eternally but you get the idea).

Well, looks like I won't be able to play my game till Monday (barring divine intervention). Explanation below (in spoiler tags because it really turned into one hell of a rant, lol).

My internet connection is just as fucked up today, and after spending an hour on the phone with "tech support" (general company support...since Charter is too good to even list the number for the local office in the phone book. They give you an 800 number so someone 2,000 miles away can try to diagnose your problem), all the guy could do was blame it on my router and offer to rent a router to me for "only" an additional $10 a month, on top of the $60 a month I'm already paying.

I told him my router is only 4 months old, and although his promise of having a "specialized technician" come out to set it up with encrypted, password protected security, I told him there's nothing wrong with my router and I set all that up myself. It really pisses me off that companies are at the point that "customer service" means blaming you for the problem and then trying to get you to buy something else.

I already pay $5 a month to rent their cable modem because the installer couldn't figure out how to get the one I already had working with their system. I also pay an extra $10 to have the boosted "plus" speed. Now they want me to pay $10 more to rent a router? I have to ask...what the fuck does that initial $45 get me??? These companies have such a fucking monopoly it's disgusting. It's like I pay $45 a month to get service that can do nothing, and then extra if I actually want it to work right.

What's funny though is that I seem to have unintentionally discovered some of their bullshit policies though when I ran a speed test and found out that my download speed is still fine (around 10mbps). But my upload speed was like 0.24mbps and the ping was horrible. When I told the guy this he informed me that the only thing Charter guarantees is the download speed, so I am in fact getting what I pay for. I can say with certainty something went haywire with the ping in the last 24 hours though because it's dropping like 20% of packets all of a sudden.

More than likely the modem is just fucked, but of course he wouldn't admit to that. It makes more sense to blame a 4 month old router that they're not responsible for than a 2 year old modem that they are responsible for. Needless to say, I'll be handling this shit in person on Monday. Just hope I don't have to choke a bitch, lol.

EDIT - Well how about that. After posting that rant, my connection just randomly became more reliable. Not sure if this is anything permanent, but either way, it's a problem on their end. It just would have been nice if "tech support" could tell me that they were experiencing problems. Anyway, got my game played. So, I'm good. :)
