It takes a real ADULT MAN to appreciate things like girls with penises, it seems.
I think it's a fun game. I like the simple rpg mechanics tied with the timing stuff in the battles.
I don't think it's hilarious, but I think it's preferable to all the other JRPGs that take themselves too seriously with all the boring bullshit about kenji and kanji and kendo and kimono and you don't know who's who because the girls look like guys and the guys look like girls and you don't give a shit what they're talking about anyway. Given the choice, I'd take Mario and Luigi over any other JRPG out there.
Starcraft 2 isn't coming out next year, silly!
I'll ask for it for christmas next year or something.

Apparently it does because one of us had to resort to childish, personal attacks.
Come on. Let's keep the drama out of here. This is the GGT not the OTT.
Drama in the OTT? I'm in there all the time and I don't remember any drama?
.
If there was an attack in there, it was very very very very weak. Not like he said "if you're 10 years old or like sitting on telephone poles with someone smashing your nutbag with a sledgehammer all while making you watch your mother particpate in German scat porn"...

Exactly. Nothing I said was attacking anyone.
It was a big "if" in that post, admittedly.

If Diablo III or Starcraft II doesn't come out in 2010 I will . I've been waiting for both of those games forever. My money is on SC2 though, since I believe Blizzard said somewhere that D3 won't be out in 2010.
I've played a lot of jRPGs but I don't I ever remember one dealing with kenji, kanji, kendo, or kimonos.
I'm not a ing xenophone either.
That being said, GBA Mario and Luigi is great. Love the humor.
Wonder if it gets dumbed down in the DS iterations. Though, I still love corny jokes.
That's something the OTT has in spades, mostly thanks to JolietJake.

I love how SC2 is taking so ing long when they plan on releasing it 33% at a time. :|
I played Lord of the Rings Conquest today. All I have to say is WOW! I'm so entertained by it. Of course, I love the Battlefront games. The character classes are neat because of the diversity. I hate archers and scouts, but enjoy warriors and spellcasters. Wicked neat. Can't wait to play some more.
I have never played any Call of Duty game. I think they need to make a CoD game with elves and big-eyed anime characters. I'd love shooting those with a chain gun.
I'd rent that just for laughs.
Anyone else picking up The Saboteur tomorrow?
The only game I'm picking up tomorrow is my pre-reserved fully paid off Silent Hill : Shattered Memories. GS better have the soundtrack that's supposed to go along with it too. I'll probably get the Saboteur once it comes down to between $20-$40. It looks cool and fun , but reviews have been just ok and no demo to base gameplay on.
I think it's less for the "shock value" and more for the "these are normal guys; not super soldiers like master chief" kinda thing personally. I see what you mean though.
I'd agree with that based off the end of the first game , but you can't tell me that
Jackson and the other Rangers from the first game and Roach/Ghost from the second game deaths don't qualify as shock value.
. That had nothing to do with being a "normal guy" versus being a "super soldier".

The game starts out kinda fun but gets to be a drag near the end. Evil campaign is more fun though , and using the heroes/villians is far more enjoyable. Game is also surprisingly difficult , but mostly due to game design.

I doubt I'm going to touch the story mode. Instant action is perfect. Helms Deep is all I need.
Now see , based off your previous post I didn't realize that you weren't playing the campaign. My mistake.
I tried playing the online but it was a ghost town. Wonder whether the PC online is any better.
What version were you playing StarKnight? I was boosting achievements on the 360 version a couple of months ago and there was always a couple of full games going on. The online wasn't bad actually IMO. I also quite enjoyed playing through the 2 campaigns.
Hell yeah! New PS3 fw this Thursday will allow me to copy locked saves. Slim here I come.
ing jesus ass. another fw update? dallow, i personally charge you with providing the GGT with the d/l link moments after it goes live so we can all painlessly update and be back online... because I'm sure the no talent ass clowns at Sorny haven't upgraded their fw servers to handle the load from all the MW2 kiddies who want to get back to killing.
does this fw add anything besides copy the copy protected saves?

I think I might be one of the few people who isn't too upset that they are only releasing one campaign at a time. Blizzard campaigns have always been really well done, I have faith. As long as there is the 30+ missions they've promised I'll be happy.
It also fixes the controller sync issues that people had after 3.10.
And PSP minis will be playable on PS3.
Aha, so it does NOTHING for me!
--
BlueScrote -- I don't know -- 30+ missions might be alright... depends on mission length and substance... but part of the charm, for me, of StarCraft and Warcraft 3, was having the breath of fresh air that came with changing campaigns. 10 missions was enough, give or take, especially for races which I had no real interest in playing as. I hate playing as Terran in SC and tolerate Zerg.... Protoss is where it's at. And, I'm making an assumption here, but if the first *installment* is, say, Protoss -- everyone online will be playing Protoss, no? Otherwise, if you get all multiplayer from day one, what's the sell for the next 2 volumes... lame.
Blue: Same here. I never had a problem with the idea of 3 games.

I seem to recall Blizzard saying all races would be playable in Multiplayer. As for what would sell the next 2 volumes? Probably some new units for each race(and some other content).

I dunno, seems like a bad business plan to me. I'm not sure how many people would follow my stance on this, but (a) I won't purchase the game in this case until the 1 campaign I care about is available. And (b) I won't pay full price for any additional volume, if I ever bother to buy them at all... With brood wars, and maybe even with frozen throne (is that what the W3 expansion was?), the addition of 2 new units per race and a couple maps wasn't worth the MSRP to me, not even with a "new campaign" to play through.
In this case I have to believe only the fanatics will drop $150 for all 3 campaigns (or whatever the cost is), while the MP people will buy the first released campaign and people who want both will wait and buy the campaign of preference (or wait for the inevitible bundle).
Online achievements suck. Even so, I don't think I'd boost to get them. Something about that just seems wrong to me. :|
You're a more moral man than me Frosty, I'm not ashamed to admit it. To clarify I don't go into Ranked matches in Halo 3 and ask people to stand in a group so I can shoot them with the lazer, that would be annoying and retarded.
I only boost in groups with other like-minded boosters, I don't trash other peoples games. I'm a whore for the points I'm afraid.
Sega continues to not want Yakuza to do well here. Is this some kind of ongoing masochistic joke?
Maybe, but Sega never gives it a fair chance to begin with to make sure that's true or not.

I understand your whoreness. I just can't be bothered to find people to boost with or waste the time to do it.
It doesn't matter when they release it... it will never do well.
Exactly. No matter what they do the game isn't going to ever be a hit. I'm glad it's even coming out here. I'm not going to start bitching about the release date now.
Wasn't Yakuza 3 confirmed for US release months ago?
It was strongly hinted at, but never confirmed.
The prologue for The Saboteur was excellent. I don't think I've ever sympathized with a main character nor hated a villian as much as I do with this game.
Seem like good choices No83, I'm flying back to the UK on Friday night and have GTA Chinatown, Tekken Resurrection, Star Ocean and Xmen Legends 2 packed in with my PSP amongst others.
