Wow, awesome. GoW has always been a poor man's DMC, now I guess it'll also be a very poor man's Bayonetta.

Say what you will about the depth of GoW's combat, but I've always enjoyed the GoW series more than DMC and NG.

Update data download procedure



  1. Create a folder on the storage media in which to save the update data.
    Using a PC, create a folder named “PS3” on the storage media or USB device. Within the PS3 folder, create a folder named “UPDATE”.

Nah, download worked fine... put it in E:\PS3\UPDATE\ and the PS3 refused to see it as part of "storage media". Might be the formatting on that drive though -- couldn't find my usb key. :|

I think I tried to use that drive a long time ago and that's when I realized it was NTFS and not FAT 32.

Halfway same. GoW and NG are tied at the top, DMC is well down from them. Batman AA put a further beating on DMC.

I liked the Bayonetta demo but I can't see it staying at full price for long. Plus the potential for a "Bayonetta - Special Edition" seems high. I'll play it cool.

I've played that game twice. Both times I've walked away amazed at how terrible the sprites looke vs the display and backgrounds.

Well, as crazy as it sounds for Tekken 6 I just got 1000/1000 now, on top of my Platinum on PSN, and already getting Tekken God/All Endings on PSP version...

I'm still not bored with it.
 
I'm on Act 4 of my Extreme MGS4 run. fuck me, I had no idea you couldn't buy non-lethal ammo on Extreme. I only have like, 15 tranq bullets left.
 
I should crack open my Tekken 6 bundle already. :p

Edit: weird that my 60GB is taking longer than my slim to download this new firmware. Oh wells.

It's alright, there isn't much gameplay left after act 3.

Still have to do the 3 secret levels, the Tower w/o Nancy, beat Nancy, and a few others. Nightmare Train, ugh. I expect i'll be getting the trophy for all the Gallery endings just by failing Nightmare Train enough.
 
I think I'm bored of Brutal Legend, but that's probably because i've been farming for collectibles. I'll be trading in Tekken 6 and Brutal Legend for 40 a piece later this month, and I might throw in Uncharted 2 so I can get DJ Hero.

However, I'm tempted to just trade in a whole ton of crap to get DJ, RB2 and Beatles Rockband...
The temptation of music games are finally getting to me!

Was home sick the last 4 days and I beat Heavenly Sword. Really enjoyed it outside a few annoying things.

Last boss was really easy too after I developed my own strategy instead of all the ones I read online for it. Only got hit twice throughout.

I think the villain is one of my favorite villains of all time because of the great personality and superb voice acting from Andy Serkis. I really enjoyed his cutscenes. All the voice acting was well done.

I'll be looking forward to their next game and hope they continue using that kind of tech.

Also had to take my Onkyo receiver to the shop. Had a week left in the 2 year warranty so I got lucky, but they told me 4-6 weeks to repair.
WTF?

Went back to using my old shitty receiver but it makes my beautiful speakers sound terrible, gave up and am using the TV speakers.
 
Dallowmang, maybe you know already, but ninja theory's next game is enslaved for 360 and Andy sirkis is doing the lead character!
 
Finally got around to playing the God of War III demo and it was about 42 times better than the Bayonetta and DMC4 demos combined. I'll have to get the collection when I get a chance before Xmas.

I also got The Saboteur from GameStop for about $23 out of pocket thanks to some credit and the launch price drop, though I could've had it for less than that if they still took the crappy GH3 guitar for trade-ins.

True -- my biggest knock on it is that the neck tends to lose contact and drops some of the fret buttons. :(
 
Hmmm...I could trade in Tekken 6, NHL 10, Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend for a total of $160! ($40 each).
That would make more than enough for DJ HERO.
HOWEVER, these trade in deals are good until December 23rd. Boxing Day (canada's Black Friday) is on the 26th, but the flyers will be leaked by then, so I'll know if it will be on sale anywhere....
AHH all this stuff is so confusing! Thankfully, that will give me enough time to complete Brutal Legend...

Do I want DJ Hero or Rock Band 2+Beatles? I'm thinking I'd go crazy on DLC for RB and spend a gazillion dollars on songs I eventually wouldn't have enough time to go through...

Oh really? I didn't know that the receiver had such an affect on your speakers. I should upgrade my Yamaha. And I was asking for these for Xmas:
