Shit, I'm looking at release dates now. I am REALLY starting to hate March. I hope some of these games get pushed back. As it stands, here's the list of March games I want:

I'm not buying a single game till March. Period.

Man, I just wish January's releases were spread out a little more, I'm have no school that month but I'm still pretty sure I won't be able to find the time to play everything I'm wanting.

The only games before that I'm picking up are Tatsunoko vs. Capcom & Dead Rising 2 (which I'm still debating between the PC version or 360 version).
 
Damn, forgot about Pokemon and Mega Man. And White Knight Chronicles in Febuary. Shit.

One thing I do see about the upcoming games is that there's not as many big-name 360 exclusives as there seems to be for the PS3. I do not count games like Mass Effect 2 as exclusive, because everyone knows the better version will be on PC. But seriously, are there any 360-exclusives coming in the next couple months that won't also be put on PC? I ask because I'm either gonna get a 360 or a new kick-ass PC come tax-return time, and right now, the new PC is kinda winning.
 
Sorry offtopic/random, but I need some Cheapass advice (especially those with GF's):
So this Christmas we both don't have much money and we need to get presents for both of our families. So she bought presents for her family and I bought presents for mine. To save money we want to go in on gifts and split for each family. So I don't have to be individual gifts for each member of hers and she doesn't have to buy individual gifts for my family. BUT, she wants to put my name on all the gifts she is giving her family and put her name on all the gifts I'm getting my family. But, I got more for my family then she did for her and I don't want to put her name on everything.
She doesn't want to put her name just on individual gifts though... what do I do? Should I just let her put her name on all the gifts I got my family? Hope that made sense... thanks

I actually just had a problem like this this past weekend.
I let my gal put her name on them all, I didn't really care much about it though, and you do, so it's pretty much up to you, man.

Add God of War 3 to that along with Dante's Inferno and you have everything that intrigues me. Though I'm pretty sure DR2 isn't going to be in that timeframe.

Honestly if I were in that situation I likely wouldn't think twice about putting her name on everything. I may not be understanding you, though; are these gifts super-personal or something?

Sorry, I don't really see the dbag part about that MW2 forum stuff. It just sounds like Bowling and IW have a hard on for twitter, and given it's overall popularity on these here Internetz, I don't necessarily disagree with that. It's easy, fast, and they don't have to adminster shit. Yeah it's lazy, but dbag...if works for them?...I dunno. It does sound like the mod team might've been mislead over what they can and can't do and I must admit, if IW isn't paying 'em, then I think they should probably take a step back and re-evaluate whether it's worth the grief they're taking over there.

He buys the big salad, but goes crazy that his GF hands it to Elaine and gets thanked even though she didn't pay for it.
Seems like a non-situation that George and you blow up in your head. :)

Yea, but he demods the moderator for speaking out and it is really rude to degrade those that are helping you for free on a public forum. I've always felt like he was an arrogant douche, this just reconfirms it.

I didn't see it as him degrading anyone per se--at least not in any of the posts that were quoted as his. If anything he's just spitting the corporate line. As for the demodding, it's really within his or anyone at IW's right to do so, if they want. IMO, the guy that got demodded is probably better off for not having to deal with that shit anymore anyways. Is that Bowling guy a dbag? Maybe, but I didn't see any specific reason based on just that IW forum mess. Ultimately, it'll be IW's loss if people just get fed up and abandon the forum altogether, which I'm guessing at this point they simply don't care since they are so infatuated with twitter.

I've been playing MW2 multi in my spare time, and I think I can understand why it brings out the worst in people. It might just be one of the most frustrating games I've played lately

I'd argue that FFVI falls under the fantasy/future mix too. so that makes 2 games with actual fantasy settings that we got here in the U.S. and the rereleases showed us that we shouldn't care about japanese FF2, 3, or 5...


I doubt they'll go back. Pretentious stylish future-fantasy setting where all the peasants have immaculate clothing and $200 haircuts is here to stay.

While Midgar was magic/technology based, I'm not sure where 7 falls.
Ninja Dog is right, now that I think about it... 6 is more modern... the only reason it becomes "fantasy" based is because Kefka rips the world apart.
8 is very magic/technology.
9 was old school fantasy.

So, of the newer games, only 4 and 9... and nothing in the PS2+ era.
Probably gone for good, dallowmang.
 
6 and 7 both have a weird mix of fantasy/modern...I guess all the FF games do. 6 seems almost steampunk, while 7 is clearly about nuclear power. but the majority of the world surrounding those technologies is stuck in the 1800s.

The tech in 6 is never really explained though. It just wants you to accept that the castle can go underground, travel underground, and then resurface elsewhere. Otherwise, I think it's similar to 7, in that they just use "magitek" power to make machines and lasers and shit.

XII is weird. It's almost pure fantasy, but I don't think they even address the energy source in that game...at least that I know of because I didn't really pay attention to the story in it.

Same here, man. In my downtime from studying and school I've been playing it, but I've been getting my ass handed to me the last day or so. I just can't stop playing it, though.

I just want a world where a phone doesn't exist. I like a world with isolated towns and cities.

FFXIII will be the shit. Can't wait. Only FF I haven't finished is 2, and that's because it is shitty.

Tales of Vesperia is pretty sweet. Now that I cracked it open, Namco can bring the PS3 version here. :bomb:
 
can't say I'm not a little worried about the quality of it, but hopefully it will be chock full of fun gameplay. Its been in development for a million years, yet they pretty much never talk about the gameplay...it's always about the story.

but it's a mainline final fantasy, so day 1.
 
I want nothing to do with that FFXIII live stream. Damn game is still months away from release, and I don't want it spoiled that fast, since that is one I've been waiting a while for. :p

I played all of Ass's Creed this way. Well, you couldn't skip them, but I did things like play other games and take shits during them, or just make fun of them.

I did the same with RE5's cutscenes. Other than Shinobi, Ninja Gaiden, Inuyasha, or Ninja Blade I don't think I've made fun of a game's cutscenes so much.

XII is basically IV's setting with more sand and alot more airships. At least it seems that way

My grandmother's in the hospital with failing organs....they think she's got anywhere from hours to days...

Damn, sorry to hear that JSP. I went to visit my grandparents earlier today. I don't want to get old.

Thinking about being like 80 years old and playing video games just boggles my mind. I mean, I know there's old people out there that are playing games (like that old granny hardcore) but still. I don't know anyone past their 40s who plays video games more than casually.
