The Rise and Fall of drfrielgood at Gamerush WARNING: 2000 Words!

I definately agree, taking a job with them definately didn't help at all. I was talking with my former co-workers tonight, and it seems that Blockbuster is now allocating just 20 hours per week for the Gamerush side of the store. I wouldn't be suprised if this number dropped to zero as Blockbuster continues to lose more money. Also, it seems that all the employees (at my old store at least) had to sign about 3 forms, promising only to trade a certain number of games per week and only a limited number of copies of each game. I take responsibility for those forms! I also saw a list of about 40 people in our area that have been banned. 9 people from the same family were banned, and one member of that family visited 48 different Blockbuster stores!

Game Rush is as good as dead. I don't expect it to stay around more then another year. They'll keep the setup, but don't expect employees that actually have knowledge of games/deals.

If they hadn't done the stupidest trade in deals possible they could have been! Trade 2 PS1 games get a new PS2/XBOX/GC game for $5? IDIOTS! If they would just keep their normal trade-in prices which are fair to both parties, and the trade 2 deal preorder a game for $29.99, even the 25% off used games, they could have been very successful. They lost A LOT of money by offering $45 trade in credit for games when they first opened. I traded in True Crime for $45 and got Manhunt for $8 OOP. Greatest day of my life. ;)
