The Series You Love, and The Games You Hate...

The only saving graces were the hidden character, and the eleventh hour secret if you talk to the right people before the final battle. Also, Rhapsodia/Suikoden Tactics helped make S4 better after the fact, but that's another story. Overall, a painfully poor entry in the series. Very disappointing.
Care to elaborate on the secret and what the other games added?

I just remembered I have to finish 5...
I really don't understand the Mario 2 haters. Hate it all you want, but even you have to admit that it's 100x better than lost levels. Ugh...RLY...I think people only like that game because it looks like Mario 1. As a gamer, I'm so thankful Nintendo decided not to release it to us the first time around, because at least then we didn't feel ripped off playing it in All Stars.
Doki Doki Panic is garbage. I don't care about the lost levels (Mario 2), but that fucking pallet swap abomination was a travesty. The only good thing to come out of it was the Shy Guys.
Devil May Cry 2, anyone?
That game made me sad.

Still, even though it was trash compared to other DMC games, it was still better than most action games out at the time, which is very, very sad.

It includes Yoshi Story, but not Mario is Missing, Mario RPG or the Paper Marios. I think Mario RPG has got to be one of the best games ever.

WTF was up with Mario is Missing? I never finished it. I actually don't think I ever really started. You start as Luigi and run around a city. That's all I could figure out.
Along with the arguments about the mario series, IGN has an article about "is there a bad mario game"

http://retro.ign.com/articles/954/954165p1.html

I haven't finished reading the article yet, but its interesting at the very least.
The Zelda series. Mostly all of those games were excellent except:
Zelda II - what the fuck were they thinking with this thing?! It feels less like Zelda and more like MegaMan with a tiny dagger and retardedly strong enemies.

Also, the Spyro series. I hope I wasn't the only one who absolutely loved this series as a child, and still do today; but Enter the Dragonfly and A Hero's Tail were pieces of crap.

If we can talk about an entire series we don't like, than that'd be the Megaman series. Really, I just don't understand how people can have fun playing these generic side-scrolling shooters that are too hard for their own good.

EDIT: I guess I may be in the minority, but I actually kinda liked Super Mario Bros. 2. Can't stand lost levels though

I really love the Pokemon RPG games, but I feel that Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald were by far the worst in the line of RPGs. Absolute abomination, and I'd rather not have that generation exist.

Yeah, this thread isn't really for games you don't like.... But I must agree, Megaman sucks, it's just one of those games people play to prove how skilled they are at memorizing flawed trial and error gameplay. And high-5 to you for liking Super Mario Bros. 2!
