You know, for the past 6 years, all I have heard is how ignorant, retarded, (insert synonym for stupid here) the president is. Night after night, jon stewart, bill mahr and the like tell joke after joke at how ignorant he is.

Then, when things like the plummeting cost of gasoline, the RECORD high DOW numbers, and the record low unemployment numbers are recoginzed by liberals, conspiracy theories involving the (until this point) ignorant chimp bush abound.

Now, all this double-talk is enough to make a guy confused. On one hand, we have people who are convinced that bush is such a deviously intelligent mastermind, that he convinced the ENTIRE international intelligence community to provide INDEPENDANT documentation supporting his claim that Saddam has WMD's, (these are the same people who attribute the so-called "inside job" referred to by normal people as the 9/11 terrorist attack again to the ignorant chimp), and on the other hand he is nothing more than an ignorant monkey who takes vacations and says stupid things.

So, which is it? Is Bush a nefarious villian who conspires with big oil to (I'm going to have to shower after I type this) rig gas prices so people will vote conservative, or somehow inflate the entire fuckING stock market to record numbers, while somehow also posting record low unemployment and intrest rates? or is he simply some idiot that deserves nothing but your critisism (while you spend hundreds of dollars less at the pump, no less) everywhere you turn?

In short, if you want to insult the man on his mistakes, fine; there are many, and I will probably agree with you.

But to pretend that this man is so inept that even outrageously positive things that happen as a direct result of his policies (i.e. unemployment, economic growth records) is beneath contempt, and is the underlying reason why liberals can't connect with the public at large.

You're failing to realize when people make claims or jokes about Bush and his actions as a person and Bush as a part of an organization/adminstration.

fair enough malker, but I am specifically referring to those who seriously believe they don't look like fools every time they call him ignorant while spewing conspiracy theories that only a genius could complete in the same sentence.

Hey asshat you can be an evil "mastermind" while being a dumbass.

He convinced certain parts of certainagencies because he had power and more or less controlled their purse strings.

It is not exactly rocket science.

I'd also like to point out that when the stock market was in the toilet, the right did nothing but squawk that the President has little/nothing to do with the economy.

The week Bush 43 took office the Dow Jones Industrial was at 11,501. Today it's RECORD fuckING HIGH is 11,866. A whopping 365 points in six and a half years.

In comparison, the third week of January 1992 the DJI was at 3285, by October 1998 it was at 8458. An increase of 5173. And by jan. 2001, well, I already said, it was 11,501, an increase of 8216.

Granted, Clinton had the birth of the internet and over the top economic growth, but by any standards the economy during the Bush administration has been anemic at best. If I had more time I'd look back and find when it was so sluggish (Carter maybe? Back to Yahoo... yep, he went down 50 points).

Unemployment numbers are a bad indicator, they don't count people who've been out of work so long they've fallen off the rolls and no longer collect (a serious problem during 2001-2003) or the underemployed, a group so large we had to invent a word to describe them.

Also look at the real estate market, which is in such a downturn that some experts are saying that with the entire market is overvalued by as much as 40% and many of the mortgages based on 'interest only' or variable interest loans, a crash is likely, one that could result in not just a recession, but an actual depression, as already people are beginning to feel the pinch as rates go up and many who bought in the last few years can't afford to keep up the payments.

Bush's intelligence? Stupid is the easy to reach for word, 'disengaged' would be more accurate, 'intellectually lazy' would work too. I think Bob Woodward's new book goes into detail of the inner-workings of the Bush white house, much is Bush, being the decider, choosing between the conservative option, or the neo-conservative options brought to him. Most which I'm willing to bet is compiled by the Vice President and Bush senior staff.

He almost got killed by a pretzel.

This place never gets old.

(BTW, thanks for the laugh cheese; I knew I could count on you to spin even the most obvious of Bush successes into deceitful bullshit).

now, one of you get me a juice box, juice box!

have fun tonight girls; while you sit in your parents' basements and marinate in your hatred for Bush, I am off to fuck the girl who wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

Honestly, who says that? Who says "I'm going to fuck a girl!"? Thirteen year olds who just stole some of Dad's beer and guys who've never gotten laid in their life. Is that how you think regular people talk? Because, y'know, they don't.

Oh yeah, you got me, you planned it from the beginning, riiiiiighttt.

Bonus round: Where was I deceitful? Where are his obvious successes?

Alright Veritas...What about Bush's initiatives in the following:

1. Sending money into faith-based charities; A direct violation of separation of Church and State.

2. Denying any funding of Stem Cell Research

3. balking at signing the Kyoto agreement

4. FEMA's poor handling of the New Orleans disaster

There is more to stuff to hate Bush besides Iraq and high gas prices. Many people thought Terry Bradshaw was stupid but it didn't stop him from winning the Superbowl.

What, It never gets old being told off? You asked for it, and when you got it, you buried your head in the sand after an ill attempt at a personal insult, do you think we care about your personal affairs in a political discussion? As if that has and bearing on your side of the argument, all political ideas aside, you just sound like a prick to me.
3. balking at signing the Kyoto agreement
I'm willing to bet you know little to nothing about the Kyoto Protocol and/or its history.

While I don't buy the "cheap gas for R votes" conspiracy, I do think George Bush is very lazy intellectually. His severe lack of understanding of the middle east (Iraq in particular), coupled with the same kind of mentality in his administration, led to the debacle we're in.

Is he "stupid" or "retarded." Of course not.

Is he the driving force behind what the executive branch says and plans for? I don't believe that for a moment. I'd say that Cheney drives a great deal of the economic plans, and that Rove is more of a "culturalist," identifying platforms to take on that will keep the public on his side (I don't think Bush thought much of gay marriage on his on, one way or another, in other words). Is Bush incompetent? As much as any CEO is: nobody devises and implements plans in a vacuum. He's beholden to his cabinet; a cabinet which has proven, in my opinion, self-serving economically and shortsighted militarily.

The short version: I don't think Bush is a leader, as he strikes me as the kind of person who requires marching orders before saying/doing anything.
