Hi
I have a few tax related questions and I hope we can get some helpful people in here. We usually have some knowledgeable people around here, so I'm not too worried. But I also want this to be where people can come here & ask questions and we can all help each other
I'm just trying to get the most out of my refund (as most people should) so I'm gonna share some of my business.
2007 was a very lousy year for me, financially.
Worked 2 jobs and was on unemployment overall.
Lived with parents until November, as of November 1 I have my own apartment.
That's pretty much it. I don't own my house, nor own a car. Is there anything people whom rent get some kind of tax break? Reductions? I don't know as this is my first time on my own.
What would be the best software to use in my situation? I'd also HAVE to file for state tax too, correct? If so here's a major question. I live in NJ. However, both of my jobs where in PA. I also collected unemployment from PA.. so, would I still file NJ state tax.. or.. PA?
SPEAKING of unemployment, I chose the option to withhold tax from my checks. As a result, I got a 1099G today in the mail. Is this the same a W2?? How would I go about filing with this?
I think that's all. Nothing really deep. Thanks
