A PS3 fan website has a great article titled the 'ugly truth about hackers'. And while at first glance hackers are greeted with thoughts of piracy, this editorial sets the record straight. The ugly truth is that hackers have advanced the games industry. And how you may ask? Well, things like save states were a common feature on emulators before they came officially to the PSP. But there are plenty more too!

A must read, check it out

Not a very convincing article.

Right out the gate:
But what about those other game systems they've hacked? What did Xbox 360, PSP, Wii, or the DS ever do to them? Remove any features? No. Nothing. Yet they are among the most heavily pirated systems right now.

DS removed the gba slot, and PSP removed everything and went download only. Sounds like a removal of key features to me.

Save states are a standard in PC games(though primarily shooters), which also includes emulation on PCs. They dont get credit for it. The innovations of Live are likewise just PC game features, just consolidated and standardized

Fashion Model Hacker kids defeating the FBI by jet set griding Grand Central Station on Rollerblades to defeat a Jewish Indian and Penn Gillette's recycled Superman III plot is totally plausible.
