HHH as COO is main events that are 30 minute talk-y segments. That's what kills this.
Interesting observation. Reviews of last night's show praised starting the program with a match, but in hindsight, it's clear why. They didn't kill off the intro talkie-talk segment, they put it into the main event.

Also, I hated that they 'protected' their faces last night during the walkout. The lack of Orton was one thing, but the total absence of Cena and Punk, the two guys that got attacked, was ridiculous.

I admit I wasn't really paying much attention to who was out there, and when I saw the referees in a group I thought "okay, they really have everyone out there." Then realized that Cena wasn't speaking up, so there was no way he was there. It's very cheap, and poor storytelling, to have them not show up for such an historic (according to Michael Cole) moment.

This entire storyline is a nice illustration of what WWE thinks fans care about. Digest that for a minute.

Ratings are in the shitter, smackdown is lucky to draw 2000 paid fans. Time to bring back the McMahons!

HHH has always been a talker, but I do feel like they've suddenly felt like they've got carte blanche to main event Raw with talk segments ever since the first Punk speech created a buzz. They had that, the contract signing, and HHH confronting Punk all taking main event time, which is bizarre. These are firmly 10pm segments, which is especially ironic when they have HHH go on about how they used to settle their differences in the ring.

It's not a good trend, especially after that shitshow last night. The worst part is that it's not going to get better. The higher power reveal... talking... The Rock's return... talking... HHH confronting the higher power.... talking. No, really, tell me that at least 1 out of 3 won't be main event time.

That was 30 minutes of nothing last night. Yet, I guarantee there was a meeting in Stamford about how it was groundbreaking television.
