If not:

While most of the guys on here are recommending having Sony fix it, personally I wouldn't go that route unless it was the 60GB with full BC. (and even then I would probably sell off the refurbed 60 GB when you get it back)

To have Sony fix it you need to box it and ship it to Sony and then pay them $150. In return, they'll send you a replacement refurb of the same model. Since the slim is now only $299, I'd pick one up new and then make up some of the $150 difference (assuming you unnecessarily paid full retail) by selling the broken unit. There are guys around that buy broken ones for $60-$80 to repair and resell.

It will cost you a bit more in the long run, but you end up with a bigger hard drive, the slim design, and a brand new unit instead of a refurb.
