Young college students young poeple in their 20's are the morons that ruined this election. If all young people would have voted we would have had our victory!

Oh well...I guess this are gonna stay the way they are!

Blame Rockstar for releasing GTA:SA before the election. What do you think those kids were doing when they should have been voting?

I hate to agree with Nick, but he's right on this point

as i stated in a similar thread...

If you want to "blame" the election results on something, blame it on the Democrat's failure to bring forward a candidate whose campaign could focus on something other than attacking the opponent along with hate & fear tactics. Proof? 40-45% of Kerry voters voted for Kerry. 45-50% of Kerry voters voted against Bush. 75-80% of Bush voters voted for Bush. 10-15% of Bush voters voted against Kerry. Kerry was unable to run a campaign to get people to vote for him, only one to get them to vote against the opposition.

This wasn't just a small loss for the democrats, it shows they are not connecting with the everyday voter. Bush won the majority of the popular vote with 51%, the first time since 1988, with the most votes any president has ever gotten in history exceeding his opponent by nearly 4 million votes. Both the house & senate republican majority was increased by 4 seats each, first time since 1924 that happened with a republican winning the election. The democrat senate minority leader was defeated, again setting a record for the first time a democratic senate leader being defeated in what, 50 years? Clearly the Democrats have failed to connect with the American people, and I think that is a result of aligning with the extreme left such as Ted Kennedy instead of a more moderate stance like JFK - who the average Joe could better identify with.

Too true, and JFK barely won the election, after paying off WV with $5 a vote and getting dead ppl in Illinois to vote 3 times.

There is a core of the country that is conservative Christian. They're not going to vote for a liberal. They're just not gonna do it.

Bush was the one running on hate and fear. Cheney was the one who implied that a vote for Kerry would guarantee a terrorist attck on US soil. The repubs were the ones pushing the gay marriage ban, and doing push polling saying that Kerry was going to legalize gay marriage.

Also, the young DID come out and vote. It was shown that the young came out in record numbers. The above mentioned push-polling also brought out the bigots and small minded people in record numbers, so they cancelled each other out.
The next questions is, which group will come out and vote again next time.

Bush also got the most votes of any president AGAINST him. It was a close election that just shows that the country is still split.

Wake up guys, the country has always been "split". And more often than not, split pretty much evenly. Look at congressional representation, it been practically evenly divided for over 200 years. And popular votes for President have always been fairly close percentage wise.

AND IT'S NOT BUSH'S FAULT, it's just the way it's always been.

The founding fathers also knew that popular politics would almost always devolve into 2 'factions' within a country.

And zarathos:

So when Kerry described the dangers of 'going it alone' as terrorist recruitment fodder it wasn't playing on fear? Repeating patriot act concerns of Bush wanting to take away all our civil rights wasn't playing on fear? Repeating "this president" instead of "the president", or "our president" is a very subtle tactic of displaying distain, but John Kerry did the full monte and actually referred to this administration as "the biggest bunch of crooks I've ever seen." This didnt play on hatred, or even propogate it?

Get over your candidate already, he wasn't the second coming of the Christ. He's a politician who would do anything and anyone to get elected. And he certainly DID use scare tactics, they all do.

It's the closest margin of victory for an incumbent in US history. All of history. Even more amazing when you realize how large the US has become.

There is a real divide in this country. How often do you hear the two candidates, a day after the election, talk about repairing the USA and healing the damage that the election has caused.

I think most of us are over Kerry losing, he's a great candidate but the choice was made fair and square. However don't you ever expect me to get on the bandwagon of a a fanatically religious politician whose main benefactors are corporations and the super rich. Don't you dare.

Kerry never said going it alone was terrorist requitment fodder. The reason why Bush won was he consistantly lied about Kerry's record and what he said during the campaign, and the media did very little to correct it. This adminstration is the biggest bunch of crooks, so now saying the truth is playing the fear card? I think saying that we will be attacked by terrorists if Kerry is elected is far more disgusting than ANYTHING Kerry said.

If fucking old people weren't dumbasses Kerry would have won!

If America wasn't ful of bigots Kerry would have won!

If Ohio didn't have an antigay vote the bigots won't have voted and Kerry wwould have won!

If Bush didn't set up the election so only the old asshole bigots that had 7 hours to wait in line to vote, while the young people have to WORK and go to SCHOOL, kerry would have won.

There are a lot of ifs, all we can do now is get the northen states to join Canada.

comon you guys are takeing this way too seriously. bush, kerry. they are the same person. how about giveing me a canidate that isnt an old, rich, white man

ahh what most people dont see that the democratic group has to cover and keep happy a much larger range of people so it was really hard for kerry to make a strong point in anything without alienating half his supporters.
then when he doesnt make a strong argument he gets te appearance of a flipflopper. it is just with all the minorities and such crammed into one party compared to a closely unified republican party... the dems have no chance.. soon though taking the poles from this site, the mass of people are becoming more liberal and hopefully the parties will change because it is about freaking time

well the rupublican party is usually centered around greed and selfishness...so it encompasses the rich and then it it encompasses the dirt poor because those people who should worry about jobs are worried about gays...It's nice how then can encompass the religous nuts who are usually poor and then the big business people who obviously don't give 2 shits about the bible and just rape the world of it's money
