That's a nice tv.. What's recertified? And is there a better tv for under $400? Maybe something alittle bigger.. But I might get this..

i have that tv, pretty good, some overscanning issues, and the component plugs died, luckily i had the extended warranty so no worries.

Recertified means basically the same as refurbished, it was a broken model that has been fixed (and probably has a warranty). Ive had the 32w6 for around 5 months. There are random issues, such as the audio out jacks being extremely low volume & backlight bleeding, but for that price, its definately worth it. I've got my 360 through the VGA, PS3 through HDMI, Wii through component, all three systems look great. PS2 & XBX through component are somewhat jaggy, but if you're using your 360/PS3 to play the older games, you shouldnt have to worry about that.

I get HD cable through Fios and the picture is incredible for the HD channels. SD channels vary in quality depending on the channels, but most SD looks kinda crappy on this set (im guessing it doesnt have as good of an internal upscaler as most bigger brands do).

I paid $600 for mine, for $400 i'd buy another if i needed one. It'll hold you off until 1080p sets start coming down more and more. Ecost also has a recertified Westinghouse 37" 1080p set for $659. I personally hate buying tv's because like most other pieces of technology, as soon as you buy one, it drops in price and something better comes out. With my luck, as soon as i buy a 1080p TV, a 1440p set will be announced.

I bought a brand new Envision 32" lcd for $475 after tax at Staples. I'd go that route over buying a refurbished Westy...I'm confident that my Envision has just as good of picture as Westinghouse :)

I had to use a 12% off coupon to get the TV for $440 + tax though, it was in the CAG forum so if you search for "Envision 32 staples" you'll find the topic I'm referring to.

I have the 42" its a nice TV for the money (i paid 1000 in december) like one of the other posters said, some back light bleeding and the audio out is low. Games and sporting events look great in HD
How is ghosting on this TV?
I don't have a problem with ghosting with the 42"

ahh, I see it now.. very nice

I got a Westy 32" last Black Friday at Best Buy for $480. Looks great in 720p/1080i, looks like crap in 480i/480p. I use it mostly for watcing HD TV or playing my 360, so it's good for me.

BB is your best bet for W TV's. They usually have an open box at a cheaper price and its the same warranty as brand new. The price off is usllay the same cost as the extended warranty, so you'd be getting a free 4 (technically 5) year warranty.

I've had the TV for almost 2 years, payed $899 in Novemver 2005 which was a good deal, and I love it. I think it looks great and for the price you have to really like it. The only thing I don't love is it only has two component inputs.
