Third Person Dungeon Crawlers...

Proxymatic

CAG Veteran
I'm looking for third person dungeon crawlers (diablo clones) that are compatible w/ my 360. I remember playing Champions of Norrath for the ps2 and knowing how much I liked that, I have been in search of them ever since (basically for the past week, because by chance I happened upon an old review of CoN)

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Check out Marvel Ultimate Alliance. It doesn't have the whole dungeons & dragons theme, but it is essentially a dungeon crawler (action / rpg).

Dungeons and Dragons for the xbox may work, also look into demon stone.
On a kinda similiar theme you may want to check out the Hunter series, not as much of a dungeon crawl but similiar.

Dark Alliance 1 / 2
D&D: Heroes

I don't think that Demon Stone is what you are looking for (more like LOTR: Two Towers/Return of the King).

Closest things I can think of are what most others mentioned.

Both Baldurs Gates are a must.
Bard's Tale
DND Heroes
Didn't care much for Fallout.

That's about it.

I really like Bard's Tale. That is a good suggestion. The Dark Alliance games are good also. I agree with the above poster about Fallout not being very good compared to the others mentioned.

I haven't played it but there is one called Blackstone Magic and Steel. I think that is a dungeon crawler. Same with one called Metal Dungeon. I haven't played it but I think it is a dungeon crawler.

I owned both of those games one time and got rid of both within weeks. Stay far far far away from those as reviews have suggested.

If you dont mind the gothic raver setting, I highly reccomend the two Hunter the Reckoning games.

I too once owned Blackstone Magic and Steel... I traded it in, and I almost never trade in games, thats how bad it was.

The X-men Legends games are the same style too - I'm pretty sure they use the Snowblind engine which was used to make the Dark Alliance games.

I'd say more "diabloesque" (I hate to use that term, but it's the best I can come up with..) You spend much more time killing and grabbing new items and weapond in D&D Heroes. That's not a bad thing, but some people like to have a bit more meat on the story... I loved D&D Heroes.. I kept meaning to go back and play as a spellcaster.... but other games caught up with me.

That's not to say that Baldur's Gate is superbly deep on the consoles... It's very much got the characteristics of Hack'n'Slash too.. but I'd say the purest hacking goes to D&D Heroes.

HTH..

They're both very fun. Very similar as well. I like the variety in class a little better in D&D. You have a halfling rogue, which is my favorite, but pretty much everything else is standard... you know, human (something, can't really remember), elf spellcaster, dwarf warrior.
