This is a common theme in my dreams, what does it mean?

CAGiversary!
I have a lot of dreams where I'm trying to save or rescue my family/friends from something (i.e. Zombies, Sabretooth (from X-Men), Sinking on a ship, etc.) and I usually can't do it, I either die in the process or I end up being powerless to stop the harm from coming to my loved ones.

The earliest dream I ever remember having with this theme was when I was younger (in my preteen years), I'd have this dream where my family was stuck in traffic and an asian man would pull my youngest sister from the car and start running with her. The sickest part about it was that he'd molest her while he was running. I would jump out of the car and chase him but no matter how fast I ran I could never catch up with him.

My most recent dreams involve being stuck on the Titanic with my family and knowing it's going to sink.

What do you guys think these dreams mean?

Means you'd best start preparing your Zombie Escape Plan. Be sure to leave room for modification if you need it to become a Molester Escape Plan or Ocean Escape Plan.

From what I understand, dreams don't usually have direct meaning, but are generally symbolic. For example, your family and friends are not actual people in the dream, but are symbolic or representative of something entirely different in your subconscious. It could be anything: a deadline for school or work, a pending errand you need to take care of, an incomplete task that's swimming around in your mind, etc.

Regardless, seems like you have pretty vivid dreams, which I rarely have and kind of wish I had more often. My sleep is usually pretty boring, except for when kids are sick and come in and wake me up, and that is not a dream usually... :puke:
You want to fuck your sister.

You are really afraid about losing your family.
This, but I'll add some variety and say you have a martyr complex.
Hard to say, seeing as I know nothing about you.

Any significant past events in your life?
Well, one of my sisters (not the one in the dream I described) died when I was 12. She was in 1st grade at the time and choked on her school lunch and there was no Nurse on duty and none of the lunch aids knew first-aid. She was transported to the hospital but she died that night. It was a real big deal in my town, we were on the news and my family sued the school.

This would seem like a logical explanation for these dreams, but the only problem with that is that the dreams started before this incident. I've had other deaths of friends and family but they all happened after the dreams started.

My wife always jokes that I'm going to snap one day and become a serial killer. Put it like this, in my first wet dream, I was doing it with Lois Lane in the library on top of a cart that was rolling around while we performed the deed, and then Superman walked in on us and we started to fight.

dude sry to hear about that dreams are dreams something your imagination makes up

Dreams don't necessarily mean anything, but since the theme is recurring it must be something that's on your mind a lot. Do you think you're a powerless failure or something?

Maybe it has to do with a helplessness about saving people from themselves. I love my parents but both of them are heavy smokers. I remember when I was little when I learned how bad cigarettes where for you it used to bother me a lot and I would try to get them to stop and would even go as far as steal and throw away their cigarette.
out of curiosity, why an asian man molesting your sister? are you asian or been watching too many japanese porn?
That's basically the plot to Rush Hour that's why :p.

Anyway, if you think you're powerless to save somebody from something then it would make sense if you have a dream where you're powerless to save somebody from something.

If you really believe that you are an idiot.

Me too. The last week, I've been having nightmares of people jacking me. The first one was that I got a call from my cousin to play some videogames.I go and play Rock Band when a truck full thieves goes inside and asks for our stuff and has guns. They take EVERYTHING except the PS3 which I find ridiculous. I called the police but they didn't come. So we go outside and then as my dream progresses, I see them on the corner of the street coming back and the last thing I remember was that I was holding the door with my strength and then I wake up. The second dream, I let my mom borrow my car because her has broken down. She comes back from work and tells me that my car was broken into and they took my amp,sub and they basically stripped down my car. Evertime from waking up from a dream, I wake up sweaty as fuck. I was thinking of the symbolic meaning and was thinking maybe I don't feel secure about myself?
