theres nothing you can do cause 1000's of people could say the same thing and try to demand a pc for 149... and stop being such a cheap ass... i think dell has a better computer for 299 shipped.. I think best buy did you a favor as well , as those E machines are nothing but pieces of shit and probally would blew up on you within 6 months

maybe noone said anything to you about the voucher cause they were all gone and they thought you had one and wanted to know where in line to stand. Also how did you know the people in front of you didnt get all the vouchers (they usually only have 2-5 of them)

i feel your pain cause i got screw out of a tv 4 years ago (when it was still first come first serve when a 500 pound fat ass hippo pushed me out of the way for the last tv) I did go up and complain but nothing was done about it
Hey now no need to bash emachines I have had one of their laptops for 2 years now problem free.

screw vouchers. theyre called DOORBUSTERS for a reason. its a free-for-all anyways! shit, DO NOT OPEN THE DOORS TIL OR PASS OUT VOUCHERS TIL 5AM. peroid. let em loose in the store. the strong shall survive!

What would be the point of passing out the vouchers at 5 when the line is already a few hundred people deep? They passed them out at 4 am here and considering people had been out since 11:30 that was plenty late enough. So all those people who jumped out of their cars at 5 rushing the door found out pretty fast they were out of luck, priceless look on their faces made my day.

I totally disagree. I would rather have a way of keeping chaos from happening as much as possible, so this voucher system for the most part does work. You might not like it but it does make things far easier than having people shove, push, punch, kick, and what not to each other for a cheap ass laptop.

But I'd rather have those vouchers handed out at the time people show up, but I guess I'm asking for too much.

Well they could also use the voucher system as a way to not have to sell the system for less. My dad went into Best Buy on Friday and they had the $149 computer in stock so he asks for one but they refused to give it to him. They told him that they had given out vouchers earlier that morning and the people who had the voucher had until noon to come back. Well, at noon the sale is over and the price of the computer goes back up. Very convenient if you ask me. Additionally, why would someone wait over 7 hours to pick up the computer if they had gotten the voucher?

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they "accidentally" didn't pass out enough vouchers so they wouldn't have to honor the price on a good number of the cheap computers. Then, later in the day when someone comes in to ask about it they can say, sure we've got them in but they aren't $149 anymore, but we can still cut you a deal. Therefor they can sell it for higher than the $149 price tag, increase their store revenue, (somewhat small in the end but still those managers try to pinch every penny into that revenue) and try to beat the other stores in their numbers for the day.

That was one of the biggest things that pissed me off when I used to work at Best Buy. Sure the managers got bonuses based on good numbers but what did us grunt workers get? Dick squat.

haha they've done the voucher thing for a while now. better than having some old lady get trampled on with the opening of the doors stampede

Hmm, I think it depends. I mean if she's old enough then what's the difference, she's had a good life.

Very ironic choice of word there. :D

Do they limit the number of vouchers a person can claim? Was it 1 per person? If it were me, I'd claim 1 of everything. Not saying I'd buy them all. I'd just bring along my cell phone and take 'requests' from friends and family. Just as long as they met me there when the store opened with the actual $$$ for the purchase. I wonder if people did that? Something to think about for next year.

there were people with 3-4 in thier hands tryin to sell them. prices vary from 20 to 50 bucks -_-

damn no change having.....arggh!
From what I've heard the newer emachines are a lot better than the older one. Those were pure crap. We have one of those and it's still kicking, barely, but it doesn't power down when you tell it to and it can turn it self back on. Either it's an issue with a tempermental power supply or the thing is haunted.

You also might be better off not getting that computer. I remember seeing it the ads that either the cheap computer at CC or BB required you to sign up for a year of AOL to get it one of the rebates. I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole.
i'd claim its haunted sell it on ebay for mucho money.

Hey all, I am sorry about the thread bump and the lack of informing this before.

But, I would like to apologize how I acted in that post, I obliviously was out of line. If you notice by the time of my post it was the day after Black Friday. And, I was having a bad day in terms of "Best Buy" fun.

I think that was the day, when I a lady cursed me out for being an idiot, cause we didn't have a shipment of a particular movie she wanted, and I did not have a clue when the next shipment was scheduled to arrive.

I understand you have all have had bad experiences with Best Buy, and I would like to apologize on behalf of BB. I ussually try to stray my customers away from Best Buy if I know there is another store that has the same product for a lesser value.

Again, I apologise for how I acted. I don't want that to diminish my reputation on the CAG forums.

Recently, I am looking for another job. Because you think you hate going into the store, try working for them. It's pretty ridicoulus. I have had to learn so much on my own, (ie, looking online and researching new DVD's releasing) just because of the lack of care they give their employees and don't give a rats ass if you are trained or not.

Then they have the nerve to come around and TEST you on the spot if you know this or that. Yet, they fail to train you.

They constantly make you go through Computer Training (phone skills, speech skills.) But they fail to train on their products. So, you look like an ass if you don't know what the name of one of the members of the Carpenters album. And having the customer saying in your face, "Wow, I knew Best Buy employee's were idiots, but didn't know they knew nothing." (True story).

But, it doesn't make up for how I acted.

So, I am sorry.

Uh... look, nobody actually remembers whatever it is you did... I for one have no clue what you're apologizing for. But 3 months later, I have to wonder why anybody would care anymore.

Speak for yourself, I'm very happy this issue is finally resolved so I can actually sleep at night. Thanks OP, my mind is at ease now.

It was not Necessarily for all that I offended, but more so for myself. I felt bad for saying what I did, and it just came to my attention on what I posted. So I felt that I wanted to go back and fix what I did wrong for myself.

Let the man get this off his chest. No need to pour salt on the wound. If you're all so curious as to apology, check his prior post a couple of pages back.
