This is the second notice that the factory warranty on your vehicle MAY have...

I get those every other week or so, on my cell phone. No one outside of friends/work have that number. Oh well. It sounds like you may get them more often than I do, I could see that getting annoying.

I work for GM here in Canada, and if the calls are not coming from the dealership or company you bought the vehicle from then the call you are receiving are "fishing scams". The will ask for your information and then ask you to send money to "extend" your warranty. DO NOT SEND money. If you want to have fun with the people on the phone, ask then to tell you which car is running out; tell them you have more than two cars that you recently purchased so they have all the warranty still. Obviously use your imagination and mess with them. Or tell them to take your number off their list, and DON'T SEND MONEY.

Captain OBVIOU5

Tell them thanks to the economy, I lost my job and my car was repossessed so now, due to this call reminding me how shitty my life is, I'm going to go take a shotgun and blow my brains out. Then hang up.
It's a recording. Can't really mess with them...other than hanging up. Ha ha! Take that, stupid automated call machine!
You just have to wait until a live rep picks up, then do as I stated above.

Haha, I know it is bullshit, but thanks for the warning.

We use to get them 3 times a day. Now, once a week. A couple of times, I would hit #1 to talk to an operator, and I tried to ask them the name of their company, as soon as I said that, they hung up in my face.
Question to the people that gets these calls:

Who's your provider? I get these too, using Sprint.
AT&T here.

Most annoying thing I get is... these damn IMs where they say they aren't a spamer and that it will take a week to remove me. Since I'm not using the official IM programs block doesn't seem to do squat.

I am so going to say this.
Get these almost everyday. They used to call only my landline but over the past week they started to call my cell now.
Wow, glad I don't live near you. xD I don't answer the phone anymore unless it's on my cell and I know who it is.

I Get them to

and the funny thing is that i dont have a car my LEGS are my car do that mean my LEGS dont have a warranty

I don't get them anymore cause I called out their bullshit scam. It's funny, they started as soon as I got my new phone and number from AT&T.

I always just try to start a phonesex chat with the people who call. I'm pretty sure that's why they keep calling back. They can't get enough of me.
My roommate gets them and she doesn't have a car
Yeah both of my parents are getting them and the warranties on their cars have long since expired.

I'll get calls from numbers I have no clue about while I'm at work on my Verizon cell phone, so I just plug them into google while it's still ringing and they constantly come up as the auto warranty scam.

I hate these calls. I get them all the time.

1st time: Pressed the auto remove button.
2nd time: Spoke with someone and asked to be removed, he wasnt happy but he said sorry.
3rd time: Told the lady off and not to call again. Deep down inside she wanted to tell me off too but all she could say was sorry sir.
4th time: Hit the wrong button to get the rep. So I called back:

1st call to them: "Can I speak to your supervisor?" "Please hold on sir." *click*
2nd-5th try: same thing each time.

If they call again I think I might use the phone sex suggestion. Or give them fake information. I love how when you talk to them they say "Can I have your first and last name for security reasons?" Yeah, "security reasons" aka we don't actually know your name just your number.

Damn, Volkswagen must have a lot of faith in their cars if my 45-year old Karmann Ghia's warranty is just now going to expire.

But seriously, I haven't gotten one of these calls for a month or two now.
expired.

Am I the only one who constantly gets these calls?
Definitely not. My car's warranty has expired so many times, according to these people. My roommate and I have realized that every time the phone rings its probably Captain Bob from Discover's Witnesses telling me I've won a free near expiration of my car's warranty as long as I come visit some timeshare and sell it for gold to be melted into cash.

Pretty much.

Situations like this make me happy Indiana has a strict do not call list. I do get these things in the mail occasionally though.

we are on a DO NOT CALL list yet we get these twice a week

I get them all the time on my cell phone. If you notice, the phone number is different. Every time you get one of those calls, I recommend you enter the number into Google, you should see the sites for caller complaints appear (where others have filed complaints), and file a complaint yourself. I've done it numerous times.

I recently wrote a blog about the same thing, about how I was getting these calls:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=7368

My car warranty already expired long ago, so I know its a hoax.
Question to the people that gets these calls:
we are on a DO NOT CALL list yet we get these twice a week
Same. My family has been on the list for a while, but we get them a lot (and other hoax calls, like about our interests rates on our CC are going up and we better act now).

I get them, always from different states. I figured it was a huge scam. Sometimes we get these calls at the office and we put the recording on hold and tell someone else its for him.
ive owned a few cars but never had a car under my name so I never get the calls.
I don't have any cars in my name either, but they somehow got my work phone number, so I get them probably 3 times a week.

I got a letter in the mail telling me that the warranty on my 2005 Chevy Colorado had expired.

I don't drive a Colorado. My dad with the same name does - 3000 miles away.

I have gotten a postcard from them, and a couple calls on my cell, but that was last summer.

However, at my lab at work, we have three analog phone lines that we use for testing our remote dial-up lines. They're never used for incoming calls, so it's usually a surprise when they start ringing.

This has been going on for months, so I finally got fed up with it. If you hit option 1, sometimes a salesperson will eventually pick up. (I've had times where no one ever does, and after 5 mins of being on hold, I hang up. I am at work, afterall.)

I try to tie up the salesperson as long as possible. I usually like to do the most stereotypical gay guy impression and see how long it takes before they hang up on me. Another one I like to do is to act very concerned about the warranty and go as far as being excited and thankful that they notified me - and then, after getting them to repeat their speech as many times as possible, I thank them, and tell them I'll stop at my dealership on my way home.

My favorite was actually the shortest one. When the salesguy finally got online, I decided to only speak french to him. At first, he didn't realize it was another language and asked me to speak up. When it hit him that it wasn't english, he just said, "fucking foreigners," and hung up on me.

It seems to me that I read a week or so back that there's some type of legal action taking place against the company, because of the Do Not Call list violations - but since they're spoofing their numbers, people are having trouble getting the company info (since they tend to hang up on you when you press them for info as to who they are).

I'm on T-Mobile, and I get these calls too, I've been getting a series of them every blue moon for the past several years.

I just got a new cell phone back in Feb and I haven't received any calls from them yet. My landline on the other hand gets these calls all the time.
