This OTT is far more entertaining than the Superbowl
Perhaps the game isn't for you then, Frost, but you should get it a try if you ever get a chance to. I too had reservations about it before I got it, and it turned out to be an awesome experience for me. But I know how you feel. I haven't played Bioshock yet because I get the feeling I won't like it.
Is there a demo on Live? Is it a worthwhile representation?
Fool!

Not space game like starfox (the original games, before they got all idiotic on the Gamecube) or rogue squadron -- more like star wars/star trek/etc. I don't care for the "we're in futuristic clothing with blasters and traveling betwixt planets." type crap.
I thought you liked Ratchet & Clank?
Neither did I.

Aren't you in Arizona?
Yep.

 @ Shaq as a jockey.
I thought you liked Ratchet & Clank?

Yep.
Let me clarify. Space games involving realism. Human(oid) type characters. See star wars/star trek.

I tried the Just Cause demo. I liked it until I had to kill some guy at a helipad and couldn't get up to him in time.

my gf sold the game not me, she had got me ME for Xmas, and got the 2nd copy. So it was sort of up to her, not me, to sell it.

I argued on DVDTalk that ME would be the perfect setup for a Star Trek game.

Mass Effect is realistic now? ;)

I plan on buying the ME book. For some reason, I just love VG books. I own all of the Halo ones, and I like them better than I like the actual games.

Sheppard and company is a lot more realism based than a lombax and a mini-robot. ;)

Which headset is better -- the one I got from the vision cam bundle or the one I bought for $20 bucks at BB? the vision cam bundle headset is definitely different... especially in the connector department. is one better than the other.

I get what you're saying, just poking fun at you.

This summer's going to be full of great movies with Wall-e coming out then, too.

Wait, that Vision set comes with a year of live, arcade games, points, a camera, AND a headset?

fuck, I should've gone to TRU.

1 year of live.
1 vision camera.
1 headset.
1 card for robotron 2084.
1 card for uno.
1 card for 200 MS points.

$39.98

Strell is looking to dump the extra one he picked up.
...Must resist wanting to buy one. I mean, the year of Live stacks, and the rest is just a bonus.
That's what makes it worth it... I mean I already have the two live games, though I may be a lazy fuck and use the uno card to put Uno on the HD instead of having to pop in the arcade disc. But 200 points plus the vision cam plus a year of live was worth $40. The extra headset? I suppose if I ever have someone signed onto live with me here, that could work. Never hurts to have a spare either.

Damn. I'm interested, if Strell sees this.

Frosty: Yeah, she's only playable in NGS.

TFN: Strell left for a friend's place a while ago says the post he made a while ago.

Ugh, Star Trek is displaced storytelling. They're really telling stories about issues here (the original Trek focused a lot on racism and sexism, TNG on forced relocation, gay issues, and the constant struggle within a democracy, and DS9 is pretty much spot on for the US Govt reaction to terrorism, before it happened). Star Trek appeals to most of its fans because it's telling realistic stories in a sci-fi setting.
Rachel was added to NGS, I believe. I played NGB and I don't remember having to do those side missions with her.
What was the difference between NG and NG:B then, exactly?

Wiki says:

Ninja Gaiden Black is Ninja Gaiden integrated with the contents of the two Hurricane Packs, and a Mission Mode. Tomonobu Itagaki has tweaked it to be more difficult than the original release, especially on the higher difficulties. Several bosses including Spirit Doku and the Dark Disciple attack faster and more furiously, plus a variety of dangerous new foes have been added to make life even harder. Furthermore, players who have played Ninja Gaiden will find the Flying Swallow move, which could previously dominate almost any foe thrown against Ryu, has been heavily toned down. On Hard difficulty and above, foes block the Flying Swallow more frequently, forcing players to adapt to a new style of fighting. There are even a couple of new enemies having moves specifically to punish usage of the Flying Swallow against them.

Hurricane Pack 1's design, along with several new in-game cutscenes were effectively integrated into Story Mode, and playable on all difficulty levels, including the new Ninja Dog and Master Ninja difficulty. Encounters were added on higher levels of difficulty to surprise players on their first play, and almost all foes were given grabbing, guard breaking or crushing attacks. This coupled with the increase in the enemies' aggressiveness made the player more wary on their toes, and less likely to 'turtle' in Ninja Gaiden Black.

New elements are continually introduced as the player clears the higher difficulties with the aid of the Lunar and Smoke Bombs (a new projectile which aids in distracting enemies). As the player attempts the higher difficulties, he will encounter foes from the Hurricane Packs, as well as new ones, like explosive bats, flame ninjas (red-clad ninjas whose attacks inflict additional flame damage), and Ryu's evil shadows, the Doppelganger Fiends. New costumes for Ryu were also available for the player to unlock, as well as the Ninja Gaiden arcade game (which took the place of the three bonus unlockable NES games in Ninja Gaiden).

Mission Mode introduced 46 missions concentrating on combat in small arenas. The majority of the missions are new scenarios, while several are modified versions of fights found in Story Mode. The game the finalists played in the World Wide Master Ninja Tournament 2004 finalists was implemented as one of the missions. The longest mission is Eternal Legend, which is Hurricane Pack 2 implemented on Ninja Gaiden Black's engine.

I tried out the Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword demo at Target today using their demo DS since I didn't want to bring mine in. Sadly, their DS's touch screen was all fucked up so I couldn't properly try it.

I can't imagine touch screen controls working good for an action game. I wasn't happy with Zelda, so much so, that I took it off my "buy" list, so as much as I love NG, I'm a bit skeptical about the control scheme.

Zelda was great. I still haven't finished it though.

I've never played a Ninja Gaiden game, but I want that fucking sword stylus.

So much so that I sort of want to preorder another one and return it to Walmart.

I grew up playing the NG games on the NES... always wanted an Xbox to play the new 3d version, but never got one... in comes the PS3... now I'm in love with NGS.
I'm staring at the COD4 screen and can't decide which difficulty to play it on.
anything other than recruit means you should just go with veteran.
