I found that most illuminating.

Another thing is that most applications still aren't optimized for multicore, and if they are, it's usually for dual core set ups.
I'm not going to be doing any hard core rendering/encoding either.
That could change in the few years that I have my next cpu, so it might be better to get the Q6600...but then again, maybe it would be more worth it to grab the E8500 now since most apps aren't optimized and just wait until they are when I get an 8/16/whatever core in 2-3 years.
The speeds are so similar, that I couldn't give up 2 more cores.

32 core in 2010.

Not trying to sound pessimistic, but 30 mins in prime95 is a very poor way to test stability. It may very well be able to reach that, but I was just looking over at Tom's and people are saying 3.8ghz is a more realistic spot to hit on air.

Did they only spend 30 minutes on it (I assume you're talking about the E8500)? I kinda skimmed the article and I assumed they did a more thorough test.
That puts them at the same place in terms of clock speed, if I OC. It depends on if the extra cores or the 45 nm architecture would make the difference then.

Picking out a processor is tough. =/
Now you're saying you asked to borrow it?
Haha, she put it on me for the picture.

Wish it were a top hat and monocle instead though.

Yeah, that's where the real money is at.

There should be a Top Hat and Monocle smile on here.

How many pictures am I going to have to adblock tonight, ZL?
Well.. the 45nm will take less power... thats always a plus.
True...I updated my thread with the tantalizing addiction to the title of "Dual or Quad Core?" so I'll hopefully get some more input.

I love any genre of pancake.

Now that I cut my hair, I realize how skinny I am. It's alot more noticable.
I need to start working out and/or eating more.
Eating more sounds fine to me.
for the hat people.

like 10 pages full of $5.00 hats, and beanies.
Sweet, I really need a beanie.
It was really cold after school, and my head was freezing. :cold:
What the heck is a GGT?
It's the Gamer version of the OTT, or basically a hideaway for people who don't want to post here.

If CAG was High Scool, the OTT is the hideaway where all the cool kids come to smoke pot, drink beers and chill. The GGT is more like the after school video game club.

Interesting comparison.

But yeah, that entire section is basically an Off-Topic section with a Gaming taste.
Bed.

I have got to do something about my sleep schedule.
Just crash on the weekends.

All the cool kids do it
*anxiously waiting for CoD4*

You said Saturday or so, right Fart?

*hopes he can play it this weekend*
yeah, should be there Saturday or Monday
Did you buy SvR or rent it?
It was a gift.

I tried the demo and enjoyed it, but I hate the fact that even if you choose an established superstar you still have to do that lame skill building and shit. Just give me a decent storyline where I progress through some sort of ladder and win at WM in the end. I hate all the bullshit in between with skill building and various events and shit.

Oh well.

Did you really expect to find a good storyline in a WWE product?
Tried out SvR08.

The story mode is lame.

Meh.
The entire 24/7 mode is garbage. And the CAW. And the half-assed way they tacked on the new fighting styles.

I hate that fucking game.
