My family had a birthday dinner for my uncle. There were only 7 people here and we bought 4 dozen of the biggest and most amazing shrimp from a local place, a bunch of toast, baked potatoes and salad, then a dozen hot dogs. I know, hot dogs and shrimp sounds like a budge combo, but the shit was awesome. Then I passed the f out for 2 hours.
I really liked it. Has a Dead Space meets The Descent sorta vibe to it. I thought it had an interesting ending too.
Cool. I'll check it out then. Thanks mang.
Anyone see Pandorum? Was it any good?
It was pretty cool. It's very dark (as in low lighting) for a good portion of the movie, but the end is very good. Worth watching.

Edit: Dead Space meets The Descent is a great way to describe it.

An LA casting call for Call of Duty-related “voice over/motion capture” for an Activision “video game” has described character Frank Barnes as being part of an elite Vietnam unit, the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group.

SOG was responsible for covert operations in Vietnam, and was active from 1964-1972.

The news appears to confirm the game for a Vietnam setting. This follows heavy tips that Treyarch’s next Call of Duty game, slated to release towards the end of this year, would take place during the Vietnam War.

The call is for motion capture and VO work for what looks like four major characters from the game, namely Barnes, “a fiercely patriotic veteran of WW2… A solid leader, possessed with an excellent ability to assess and respond to any situation quickly and decisively”; Joseph Lewis, a “very physically fit” black man in his 20s; Jason Hudson, a white man in his 30s with “over 15 years of military experience, making him an excellent tactician and mission co-coordinator”; and Kristina Ivanova. a Russian-born martial arts expert and CIA operative who’s “calm to the point of being cold and detached”.

The details come from a US casting site. Hit the image below for everything on the listed characters.

Activision has yet to say anything about the Treyarch title other than it’s coming this year and it’s not expected to be bigger than Modern Warfare 2.

The game’s setting, plot and characters have yet to be confirmed. We’ve asked Activision for comment.
I really, really, really hope that the rumors are true and they are making Call of Duty: Vietnam.
I really, really, really hope that you're happy when it ends up being a Treyarch game.

It's going to be Call of Duty Vietnam with the COD4 engine and made by Treyarch.

I can't see how anyone would be happy about that. Nazi zombies was fun though.

Would that mean we would be playing as the Vietnamese online? That'd be interesting

Well I would love for IW to make it, but are too busy sucking their own dicks over how awesome they think the expanded MW storyline is, even though it took a total nose dive in MW2 and should just be ended already.

Also, I personally enjoyed World at War. So I imagine that their next game will just be more of the same.
Would that mean we would be playing as the Vietnamese online? That'd be interesting
It's not a big deal, we've been playing as Nazis and terrorists for years without anyone giving a shit.

Oh, I know. The Vietcong just seem crazy to me, as that was one of the interesting wars or "wars" to some people. I think they could make it a solid game. If only Infinity Ward attempted it....

Well that was a load of shit at this short track speed skating semi right now.

The American got grabbed around the waist and yet was not advanced, but the guy who grabbed him was.

It looks like I'm currently sitting at 2 A's (7 credits) and 2 B's (8 credits) so far this semester. I'm happy with that, but I'd like to get straight A's, dawg.

1000 on Dante's Inferno. Cool. Spamming the cross and an occasional martyrdom made the Gates of Hell easy. Took like 26 minutes though.

Speaking of gaming, I need to decide what to do as far as a television for college. Those damn rooms are so small. :

I don't mean actual television programming. Just a TV to play games and watch movies/DVDs on. Mine is 37" which is going to be too large. What would I do if I got a computer monitor with HDMI to use for both my computer and my gaming/movies? Constantly use headphones?

What's wrong with headphones? You can use external computer speakers if you'd like. I bought a cheap, small 2.1 Logitech set off Amazon for $20 for Christmas and they sound surprisingly good. I'm sure any non-audiophile would be more than satisfied with them.

I am really liking that 24.6 inch Samsung we got for our bedroom @ Costco. If you wall mount it you have to get 90/270 HDMI adapters though, since the HDMI jack is right under the VESA mount plate. Some people say it is so-so as a comp monitor though. To me if looked great when I attached a laptop via HDMI to it (maybe it's a DVI/VGA issue)

It's 1080p which is overkill for a TV this size; However, if you are sitting close enough to use it as a monitor then that resolution is ideal.

Man, I just don't know. On one hand I think it'd be complicated to use one monitor/TV for both since I'd end up being really, really close for games/movies, but on the other hand having two screens seems like a little overkill.

It'd end up being really large for computer use, though. I mean, my 21" now seems big still.

Edit: Do TVs come with VGA? Because I mean it'd be more convenient to buy a small TV than to buy a larger "monitor", I'd imagine.

Sell your monitor, get a 22" 1080P TV that has VGA and hook your computer/xbox into it. You'll get used to the size. I have a 24" and I wish it were bigger.
So I'd use VGA from computer to TV (which is solely video)? That sounds like it'd be a good idea.

Edit: FWIW, this is more than likely what the layout will be like.

http://www.housing.ufl.edu/facilities/tours/jennings.php
Yeah, pretty standard. What I did was I kept my bed like it is in that photo, and I pushed my desk up against it and put my TV/monitor on a fucking lazy susan. That way, I could use it at my desk but if I wanted to use it while laying in bed, I just had to turn that shit around!

That's a fantastic idea, actually. I guess that's what I'll do. I'll just have to make sure the TV has VGA, HDMI, and a headphone jack (strangely, my TV doesn't even have a headphone jack). I guess I could get headphones through the red/white audio and an adapter, but I'd rather not.

Edit: Hm. Most TVs at that size at Amazon seem to be 720p.

I think my tv has a headphone jack, but I can't remember. You might have to get that adapter.

Do you really need a headphone jack though? Screw your room mate!

Well the speakers are probably shit anyway (my TV's speakers are) so it'd probably be best for both of us if I just used headphones. Although I'll still take my computer speakers with me, and I have some Altec Lansing computer speakers I can use, too.

Also, I guess I don't really need the VGA port, since my new video card has HDMI out.

So probably something along these lines:
