This seller is a liar and a cheat. Don't trade with him unless you want to be SCAMMED

I'm still taking it real easy and giving SmurfALMIGHTY the full benefit of the doubt on this one. Even though it's been over three weeks since I sent him $210, well, all I got left is hope, heh. I have faith that if he can't deliver the codes any longer he'll at least refund our payments. Again, I'm running on faith here.
 
Good grief, another possible scammer. Sorry to hear about everyone's losses, hope he returns the cash or sends the codes. Good luck folks and if he doesn't end up sending the codes, call his local police.
 
He did hook me up with a good 12mo code in place of one of the 4000pt codes so he still owes me one code/$30. I don't know what's up but I just don't get the impression he's straight out trying to scam anyone... I could be wrong.
 
This is why I make it a point to avoid people who strictly want money orders, too easy to pull this crap. Paypal for all its faults at least tells me they got the money and have scammed me within days instead of the weeks some of you have been waiting. Hopes this gets resolved for the better

I can trade Red Faction Guerrilla and 10$ CC for a 4000 and 1600 card. Actually nevermind, didn't read the opinions of other people about yourself.
 
For whatever it's worth, I bought two 4000 point cards a month or two ago from him (sending cash via USPS Priority Mail), and everything worked out fine. He actually sent me the codes first, after which I mailed off payment.
 
Well, it sucks to see these recent developments. I did buy one of the 4k cards from him a while back and had no problems. Why suckaz gots to turn to the dark side?
 
Maybe he is still good for it but has had some sort of crisis or osmething and cant do trade right now? Give him the a little slack if many people had good transactions before..

Just to let you guys know, I just received a code from Smurf for the first time in a while. I can't verify it yet (have to go home to do so) but it IS potentially a good sign. Maybe we just have to give him the benefit of the doubt. I realize he posts his PM's by phone (iPhone specifically) but a little explanation would be good.

I will let you know if the code is a valid one :)
 
yes, goomba please keep us updated. was it a points or subscription code? feeling a little better i guess. i have an iphone myself, and it is a hassle, as cag loads slow on our phones, but still business is business. we should at least be informed of his status.

maybe im being naive, but i think he'll sort it out. He would benefit a lot from being more communicative and organized.
 
Well it seems like everyone's getting all optimistic now... so I guess I'll hold out a little bit of hope. I sent him $60 for two 4000 point codes a few days before the trading ban appeared (with delivery confirmation and a note with instructions as to what I wanted and my CAG name so as to be able to receive the points) and I haven't heard or received anything from him.
 
I've been fairly optimistic the whole time. Like Smurf said in that chat log, I have ordered a lot of codes from him (not quite 30-40 lol, but more like 20 or so). I'm glad he's good at keeping records too :) I know from running my GFC business that it gets really insane when you have a lot of people ordering from you and sending random cash without notes. Definitely a tough thing. Glad he's working it out though. Hang in there Smurf, I can't wait for you to get your trading ban lifted. Thanks for the posts megaera!
 
smurf seriously needs to communicate more/better. The chat log above was from 8/6. In that conversation he told me he should have codes in a week, and i asked him to contact me if it would be longer, which he agreed to. As of 8/16, no contact, no response to instant messages over this weekend.

I'd like to compile a full list of those having difficulties to send to him for response, and also to make available to postal inspectors and forum mods in the event he does not follow through. willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt as he doesnt seem to be a very organized seller, but if he continues to fail to do such simple things as reply with status, I dont think we have much option but to assume that he has defrauded us.
 
it's been almost a month since i have last talked to him via pm. my payment was sent out about or over a month ago before investigation started. if he doesn't respond, i'm filing a report within the next few days.

All this input from someone with no trader transactions on Cag. I'd recommend people take your advice and not trade with you as well for being a person "who talks like a moron/thug." Good luck everyone. I did a trade early on and he had to ship first so it went well.
 
It really doesn't matter how someone talks like. They can use internet shorthands for all I care but as long as you're as straight as an arrow with your business I have no problem.

Since I'm unlikely to see anything after filing for mail fraud and an IC3.gov complaint, I laid down some negative feedback. Not that it matters much to a person who has pretty much turned tail and ran. From what I've been hearing, SmurfAlmighty here appears to be annoyed that you'd even contact him to find out what's going on with your money or your product.

They worked good for me. I just need to find someone to buy 4000 points from. And I'm not paying any more than $35 after only paying $30 to Smurf.

I bought the codes a little over a month ago. Many worked. I didn't cash them all out, but they have all been cleared. I verified with my MS history, now to find if I can research who actually used the codes.
 
To continue the update--- the seller has signed on regularly to Xbox Live and is actively ignorning questions.

Is anyone else contacting local law enforcement?

Hey is there anyway you will take Fable II off my hands , for my Microsoft Points . :applause: . It has the game manual , case , and obviously the disc . It very little noticeable scratches . I could send it to you , if you wanna see the quality . I would rate at 4/5 Stars.
