So many good games coming out this year... I'll finally have to get one. Hope there is a price drop before then. Mass Effect, Blue Dragon... :drool:

There are a lot of other good games too, but those ones I really want. This year looks like its going to be an exceptional year for the 360...

too bad the PS3 isn't going to have enough this year... (I'm not a PS3 hater) Too little and too late... Its gonna get trounced by a banner year for the 360.
 
Whole reason I choose the 360 over PS3 was because I found out what a friggin' killer lineup it will have in 07. I'm gonna spend a ton of money this year on this little box of awesome.

Is Ikaruga actually confirmed?

Either way, I won't be buying it unless there are a bunch of cool features like high-score boards or recordable vids of superplays. I mean, I have it both on DC and GC already.

i dont agree with this thread or the last issue of EGM. I actually think this year is going to suck only because of a lack of originality.
Last year was truly the best year, my reasons:
1. Okami
2. Gears of War
3. Dead Rising
4. Elebits

All original titles! this year we have to look forward to MGS4, another Smash Brothers, another Halo, and more GTA clones along with more rehash material.
No doubt that there are some original titles coming our way, i've been looking forward to Mass Effect forever, but nothing that compares to 06.

Assasins Creed is still coming to PS3, if they can get it to work as well on it's clunky hardware, and it probably won't launch at the same time.

That's the only reason I kept it off the list I wrote, because the release date is completely unknown, without even an estimate as to when it will be out. I really wish it would be here by the end of the year though.

I'm pretty sure The Darkness is also PS3 as well.

360's 2007 line up is seriously maybe the best ever for a year. There's like a dozen games for it I'm going to buy on day one. I'm going to be spending so much money.
 
Yeah.. so much good stuff to buy, and even more good stuff to still play through.. People really are wasting their money on PS3(and even Wiis), every other platform seems to have such a huge lineup coming.
 
Might I add Metal Gear Solid to the 360 list? :lol::lol::lol:

The way things are going with Konami, it seems that we might get a port in the future for the 360 (probably in 2008 though because of a deal they have with Sony)...

Did anyone mention Forza Motorsport?

We have similar tastes - those 2 titles are the main reason I went out and bought a 360 tonight (though I will be returning it in hopes of getting the rumored black one). The 360 finally hit the point of interest for me just recently - a couple of really good games (Oblivion and Viva Pinata), and a nice selection of lesser cheap/clearance games (Full Auto, Tomb Raider, Kameo, Table Tennis, etc - got 'em all new for about $16 each).

The only games I anticipate buying this year are Mass Effect and Blue Dragon, and maybe the Star Wars game if it gets good reviews. Never played Halo, and never will, and Gears of War interests me not. The lists the other guys are all posting don't sound that great either - but having said that, I am about to jump in and I'm looking forward to it! I'm sure as I start playing some of these games, I'll get interested in ones that don't seem so appealing right now. After all, that's exactly what happened when I added the PS2 to my GC-only console lineup a few years ago ;).

I was all set to get a PS3 too since I had a PS2 and like all the RPG's. That's why I think it is critical for MS to keep titles like Blue Dragon coming. A few like that are enough to sway me (and probably many other PS2/non-Xbox owners) towards the HDTV-friendlier 360 (it has a scaler, whoo-hoo!).

Well, I wouldn't say it's a matter of *refusing* to play it (I was guilty of a bit of hyperbole there, sorry), I've just never had the opportunity (never had an Xbox). And I'm not interested enough in Halo 3 to spend $60 or more on it, that's for sure. And if I get a 360 I have a bunch of other games I'd rather play than Halo (even amongst BC titles - Psychonauts, Fable, etc). That's not to say I won't play it eventually, but it isn't on my list. I'm simply not into 1st or 3rd person shooters, with the sole exception of Star Wars Battlefront. That's actually the only game I've ever played online (on the PS2) and I had fun with it for a while. If they made a 360 version of that I'd definitely get it. I'm also just not into the gory stuff - so I pretty much exclude any M rated games that are centered on gore. It isn't a moral thing or anything - I'm just not interested ;).

If Halo 3 gets top marks across the board I will keep an open mind towards it and pick it up when I cen get it cheap (sub $20). So I'm not ruling it out entirely.
 
With the impending release of Halo 3, I recently picked up the originals because I too never had the chance to play them (the only system I owned last gen was a Dreamcast, sniff sniff). Its honestly hard to find time to play them with the current 360 library, but they are still enjoyable - and I never found myself a fan of FPS. Halo 3 - for the online community alone on Live - is at the top of my list (along with Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Forza 2, PGR4 & Burnout 5...phew).

Honestly, I possess a backlog of current 360 games, how are all of you going to find time to play in '07?
 
No one mentioned Samurai Warriors 2 Empires or Bladestorm! *crickets* Oh well, I'll keep supporting Koei T.T

Good stuff coming up though. Mass Effect alone destroys anything else.
 
The great part of this list (with me being cheap) with this many good new games coming, a few will likely disappoint on the sales charts, and drop quickly. You figure Halo and GT4 won't be that game. But, if a few of these drop to the $30 range, I'll be jumping at tons of them.
 
I agree, I'd definitely say this will be one of the strongest years for games in a long while. There are more games coming out that I want than I have time to play. And not just on the 360, although their lineup is the strongest. (PS3's seems strong, but it is shit already on the 360) I can't remember the last time my want list was this long.

I'll be getting Samuari Warriors 2 Empires at launch or close to it. It's part of my budget for Feb/March. You won't be the only one supporting KOEI.

Bladestorm I'll probably be getting as well.

This list just makes my wallet scream, and I have a Wii and DS to :( I just bought Summon Night 1+2 and FFVI Advance, and those were GBA titles! I don't even have Hotel Dusk or Okami yet! wah!
