Not worried because of the crowd.. worried about it getting stolen.

I dunno about you guys, and I think Odenat can vouch for me, but at the local mall, the security guard is an old man with a flashlight. Literally. I figured they would have cops working it, but apparently they won't. I really want to get it at midnight, but that thought is preventing me from doing it.. doesn't matter when I get it, if I got it at midnight, i'd just have to turn around and go to bed because I have school all day Tuesday.. anyway. Those getting it at a mall or whatever, are you worried about someone trying to run up, grab it and run off? Or am I just being paranoid?

Ha, I was actually thinking about the situation he talked about when he got the Halo 2 LE when I was thinking about this.
 
Must be a small mall if they only have one security guard. For the Halos 2 release, I was talking to a mall security garud who said all 11 security guards had to be working that night. Anyhow, I 'd say if it bothers you that much just round up some buddies or con them into coming along somehow. Someone is far less likely to try and snatch somehting from 4 or 5 guys than they are 1.
 
I'm more worried about not getting it at all. I have maybe 4 shots at getting one, all of the stores are in small to semi-small towns, yet I still fear that I won't get one. The thought of buying $250 worth of games and accessories, and then not getting a system gives me nightmares. :)
 
actually, im pretty much expecting to hear stories about people getting mugged for these. luckily sacramento is a pretty safe town so im not worried, but im sure others should be, people are crazy. right now its just a matter of if my check gets here monday or not, if it does, i can get one, if not then im shit out of luck
 
Since when is sacramento a safe town? We are being over-run by thugs. Ill still be at my local gamestop at midnight because I want to play all night.

I've thought about getting a few people to go with me, but it's a weeknight - most have to be up at 8 or 9 for school, some have to be up at 5 or 6 for work.. not going to call them and ask them to go with me to launch then just say "alright, thanks, see ya later" and leave them. If I asked them to go, I would make sure that they got to play it.

There's no telling how many 360 mugged/murdered stories we're going to hear.

youre out of your mind, sacramento is very safe, especially compared to other towns in california like oakland, SF, LA, etc I've never not felt safe in Sacramento, even late at night in "bad" areas. Over-run by thugs? nope nope, youre just crazy
 
The thing is, in order for me to fight someone on the way out, I'll have to set my 360 down... and some other jive motherfucker can run by and sweep it up.

Thankfully, I don't have to go to a midnight release. ;)
 
Bah, i'm going to be armed for my midnight launch. Nobody will know, the only one that will find out will be the guy trying to mug me for the XBOX 360 that i just paid $400 bucks for.
 
Just roll with a few friends, I'm waiting outside walmart with a friend and both of our brothers are coming up later in the night. I'd like to see someone try and rob us. Besides, how fast is someone gonna run with a 360? Remember how heavy the Xbox was?!

nah, i'm not scared. everyone's gotta pair of fists. don't be afraid to use em. or you could pull a jackie chan and toss your xbox into the air, kick some ass, catch it when it falls and walk away.
 
Im in Sacramento and im not scared at all, but then again I wouldnt be going to any stores that are in the hood either, walmart is the only midnight place I know of and those arent in places where you would really get jacked.

I definitely wouldn't grab it at midnight from either of the malls we have here in Corpus.

There are NO security guards here. Yep, you read correctly. NO security guards. A short while back, a jeweler was held up with a weapon and the thief was able to get out of the mall with thousands of dollars worth of stuff without a problem. I was upstairs in the mall, and all that was heard downstairs were cries of help. No cops or anything nearby; it was pathetic. But at least the jeweler was able to get his insurance to reimburse him and he was OK.

And that's during the day... I can only imagine midnight/late night at the mall. Especially with the large parking lot... I'd just grab the 360 and I wouldn't stop running until I was locked in the truck.

If you live in the chicago area i'll go with you for protection, i'm all about practicing some of my Brazilian Ju Jitsu and Muay Thai Boxing, i just got my BROWN belt hoorah! lol i'm just excited just got home from my award ceremony!

we have a police sub-station in the same parking lot to our hollywood/gamecrazy. We've already talked with them about having someone there. You'd have to be retarded to try to mug anybody or rob us with that substation always having at least 2-3 cop cars there, right on our side parking lot..

If you guys seriously are worried about being mugged dont carry cash and keep a low profile. Going in a group is also the best idea, try and make plans asap and do that.

Unfortunately I don't have a choice about going at midnight. The store I pre-ordered from isn't doing it. They are opening early though Tuesday and OMG!!!

Im 6'2 225 not worried at all, if someone dares to mug me I'll just knock them out and beat them over the head with the 360 power supply for laughs.
