Thundercats Season 1 Vol. 1, 10.98 at Hot Topic

thats the one.

I had picked up one to buy thinking they were still doing the 50% off marked price which would have rocked for 5.00 but since they were 10 i didnt bother.

The link is ONLY for disc 3, if its the same in B&M then its not a deal at all.

My thoughts exactly. Thanks for the effort OP, but I was hoping it'd be the volume one boxset.

Yeah, that's the disc that's on sale at Hot Topic. I stopped by before to pick up the Samurai Champloo dvd and saw this instead but decided not to get it. The slipcover is pretty cool though.

When I was there I didnt see anything about vol 1 disc three. Just saw season 1 volume one. I dont pay much attn to dvd season stuff when they break it down to volumes.

I'm confused. Did you get Season One, Volume One or Season One, Volume One, Disc Three for $10.98?

It's actually not disc 3 but discs 5 and 6 from the big 6 disc Thundercats vol1 seas 1. They broke up the first 6 disc set into 2 disc sets, so discs 1&2 have a 1 on the silver slip cover, discs 3&4 have a 2, and discs 5&6 have a 3.

I only know this cuz I bought discs 1&2 at gamestop in the 3 for 10 bin.

That's got to be the worst DVD distribution/marketing I've EVER heard of. For starters, they didn't even release the 1st season as a whole, and then they broke up the partial season even more?

The only way that's semi-acceptable is to release a "best of" (like He-Man) or themed episodes (like X-Files).

I wouldn't mind having the 5-part "trials" episodes arc on one disc, where each character had to overcome some sort of crazy obstacle. That was the greatest cartoon arc of the 80s. (actually, I think they did release that arc on VHS a long time ago)

Its quite common... they reason they don't release the 1st season as a whole is because it would be around 65 episodes and cost anywhere from 80 - 100 dollars... most fans of these shows DON'T want to pay that sort of money. They split up the seasons into two parts making it more affordable to everyone in the long run - I'd rather pay two installments of 40, rather then one huge lump sum of 80 +.

I'm not sure why they then release seperate "volume" dvd's... Transformers did it, as well.

Meh, With the quality of the Thundercats episodes in this DVDs they could have put all Season 1 in six discs. They did a POOR job on Thundercats DVD, much like the Transformers DVD.. they look and sound like VCD transfers. They could learn a thing or two from whoever did the He-Man DVDs.

BCI Eclipse - I think they did a great job too. And they were quick to send me replacement dvds when my He-Man ones came scratched.

Part 2 of season 1 comes out on Tuesday. I'm excited!
