I've been thinking of buying an Xbox 360 but until they lower the price in Canada I simply can't justify the purchase. So I ask, now that the Canadian dollar has crossed the $0.94 on its way to par, is it time for video games to be repriced in Canada? We Canadians are now paying substantially more for games then are American friends.
Take the xbox 360, probably the worse offender as the PS3 was priced to a 85 cent dollar compared to the 360 which used a 70 cent dollar, which retails for $499.99 CDN or ~$470 US a full $70 more then they pay south of the boarder. This trend continues with the elite though not as badly, we only pay $40 US more. We also overpay for games, though not as drastic an increase, take Forza 2 which list for $69.99 CDN or ~$66 US, compared to a US list price of $59.99 which is ~$64 CDN.
Has the surging Canadian dollar made you reconsidered any video game purchases? I have thought that the 360 is overpriced in Canada for some time do you agree with me?
