Tetris DS is a little on the disappointing side. GameSpot's review, to me, is accurate.
Hell, if DC is right and Target is giving out a $20 gift card with it, doesn't that essentially bring it down to $10? Has anyone confirmed this is the case? I'd be tempted to pick up DS games prior to my owning a DS if that deal is correct...

I just wish I bought it at Target.

I don't regret buying it, at all, though... It's not as good as I was hoping for.
You had to buy the system and the game to get the GC.
If that's the case then forget about it. I didn't see anything about having to buy the system as well but I could have just as easily missed it. Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up.
In that case, do you have any way of finding out what she usually goes for? Seems like the simplest solution.
I was going to try that but most everyone is scattered about for Spring Break. Also I wanted try and do it as an out of the blue suprise kind of a deal. I am going to try and do a little field work and see what I can do.

Oh and by the way my intentions are mainly friendly with the hope of a nice future thought. She is a good friend to me and I don't want to try to mess anything up by trying to get her some wine, get her drunk, and then make an internet video.

I didnt really want it to begin with....$20 was a good incentive, but if i want to play tetris I'll go here: http://www.addictinggames.com/tetris.html

(somehow, I can live without mario in it)
You could have another friend call and pretend to be conducting a poll of wine drinkers. Chances are she'll forget all about it.

its better than having the cables and losing the console which is my little bro's situation. I've been wanting to play rogue sguadren since the summer

How do you lose an entire console? I can understand losing an SP or DS, but a console?
How do you lose an entire console? I can understand losing an SP or DS, but a console?
Here's what I think happened.

We got two houses (don't let it fool you, im still broke as fuck) so after he got an xbox he put his gc away probably under his bed. Then when my mom was cleaning she took it to the front house (we live in the back house while we are fixing up the front one) and now its lost in one of the rooms thats full of our junk. I tried looking for it but my skimming through the top method isn't really effective.

Have I recently mentioned I've been laid off again? :bomb:

They said that they really had to watch the bottom line and they were going to be removing positions. But I was laid off due to financial reasons... not fired because I was a dead ass.

Okay.

Went to Target to get a calculator.

Came home with Guitar Hero.

=\

So, as I gaze at the box in its unopened glory...

Do I need any knowledge or experience with guitar playing?

Please, someone answer this for me... as it looks amazingly fun, but I don't want to have thrown 70 dollars away since I can't play guitar.

Thank you for any help!

IIRC, there are 4 buttons on the handle (can't remember the correct terminology) and that's about it.

Phew. I'm glad he didn't get the calculator. That thing has way more buttons.

As long as you're white, you should be fine. It's an awesome game, no experience with a real guitar is necessary.

Think of it kind of like... parappa the rappa but with a special guitar shaped controller... it's a rhythm game, press the right button on the "neck" of the guitar (which is supposed to be akin to fingering chords on the fretboard) at the right time... no experience necessary, you should have a blast.

Rock on!

5. There's red, blue, green, yellow, and orange. I was surprised that you can navigate menus with the controller outside of the game, as I was able to navigate the browser fairly easily with the guitar.

Ah, good to hear. thanks guys!

I've never seen it until now, and I snapped it up as soon as I saw it for 70 at Target (it said on sale, but I thought that was the MSRP. So... maybe I even got a deal?).

It didn't look hard, but when I see the stuff on the back of the box describing:

"Slam on the fret buttons!"
"Shred on the sturm bar!"
"Go Wild on the whammy!"

I got intimidated by the guitar lingo and thought that real guitar playing knowledge was needed.

But, if this isn't the case, I can't wait to play. :D

Edit: On another note, they had a big notice on Metroid and Tetris: FREE $20 GIFT CARD!

Of course, in small print it tells me "With the purchase of this game and a Nintendo DS Console".

Damn it. So I didn't buy either.

Single greatest thing I ever found online (not really, but I love this speech):

"But on this most auspicious of nights, permit me then, in lieu of the more commonplace supricate to suggest the character of this dramatis persona. Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."

Pop poll- How many of you actually scrolled up to look at the aformentioned penis?

So last night, i'm watching American Idol. Commercial comes so I flip through the movie channels, I find American History X, being made in 97, and being young at the time that movie had come out i've never heard of it. I watch the part where they raid the SuperMarket, that is some of the most intense stuff i've ever seen in a movie.

Seeing lots of movies I thought I could handle watching it, but after that, I switched back to Idol, trying to regain what purity I had left. Didn't hurt that the person singing was Kelly Pickler.

I didn't know there were still people who hadn't seen AHX. But I guess I didn't see it until '00-'01 myself.
Pop poll- How many of you actually scrolled up to look at the aformentioned penis?

I've owned American History X for 3 or 4 years and have yet to actually see it. No reason why; just haven't gotten to it, yet.
