TJMAXX: Neo Geo Battle Collesium PS2 $5 & other goodies

CAGiversary!
Hey guys I was @ Gamestop tonight to do some trading & forgot there was a TJ Maxx next door. I knew there was a thread before about them having Batman AA & COD for cheap. At first all I saw for games was one lone copy of Eat Lead The Return of Matt Hazard for $15.

I figured even though it was stickered @ a clearance price, I'd take it up to the register to see how much it scanned @. As I was almost to the register, I noticed a display box w/ video games. Wii, PS2, 360, PS3, DS. The most notable finds were:

PS2 Neo Geo Battle Collesium for $5 (had 2 copies, I bought one)
DS Metal Slug 7 $11 (1 copy)
360 Shadow Run $10 (5 or 6 copies)
360 Battle Fantasia $15 (1 copy)
Wii SNK Collection $10 (1 copy...I might go back & pick it up for that price)

I don't have a PS2 right now, but for that price I couldn't pass up the Neo Geo fighting game. I have many fond memories of SNK/Neo Geo arcade games as a kid. :D
OP, do you live in Virginia by any chance? My local GS has a TJ Maxx as a neighbor too.
No, but close. The Triangle area of NC. I live in Chapel Hill, but this was in Durham (less than half an hour away).

Haha! That's funny you two have a GS and TJ Maxx next to each other. It's the same with me- the only thing between them is a couple other stores in the same shopping center. :p

Yeah, the same here! LMAO!

There's like 2 stores between them & TJ Maxx.
Man i went to tjmax and ended up buying a backpack
I went to Target tonight also, & ended up buying a mixer.

I accidentally dropped the one I already had on the floor earlier. I didn't think it fell that hard & didn't think much more of it. While shopping for some cheap games @ Target tonight my wife texted me to buy a mixer because she was in the middle of making a cake & ours died. She said it started smoking and then it just died!:applause:

I got NeoGeo Battle Coliseum forever ago and it's really fun. It's coming to Live Arcade at some point though but $5 isn't bad to hold you over until it releases(I've yet to see any new information on it).

Hmm...thanks for the heads up. I might exchange it for another game there or get my money back. I'm not sure yet. ;)

If anyone really wants Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, I also suggest trying TRU. Both stores near me are swimming in $5 PS2 games, including NGBC, the Fatal Fury Anthology, Williams Pinball, a couple of Sly Cooper titles, Jak and Daxter Precursor Legacy, and several more. (Also, We Love Katamari for a mere $10!) :bouncy:

This is very YMMV.

I have multiple TJ Maxx stores around me in Boston - I've seen Battle Colisseum both at retail price and on sale (though for $15, not for $5). Hell, the last store I hit had, I KID YOU NOT - BK's Sneak King for $47.99!!! I wish I'd taken a picture w/ my phone...too funny.

LOL...did TJ Maxx dumpster dive Burger King's awhile ago? ;)

No luck at my TJ Maxx but I did hit TRU and they had Battle Col, Art of Fighting anthology, Fatal fury vol 1 and 2, King of fighters, all $5.00 .. they had a ton of each.

For that cheap, I might have to pick up a PS2 to play those.

Thanks for the price of Battle Fantasia, OP. I saw a couple of unmarked copies at a near location and I didn't have the time to price-check.
