I do hate the way the PS3 downloads...its fucking slow, it can't do it on standby mode, and when its finally done, you have to fucking install it :bomb:.
Your connection must suck dead hooker cooch.

On my slow as balls connection, upgrading to 2.4 and 2.4.1 took maybe 10 minutes total.

No...wasn't talking about the firmware update...it usually does take 10min...downloads in general...they take forever, like demos, trailers, full games.

The downloads on the X360 are way faster from what I've seen.

You were asking me about films similar to Vengeance is Mine, Rocko; might wanna check this out.

Branded to Kill

The film's story centers on Hanada, a.k.a. "No. 3 Killer," the third-best hit man in Japanese organized crime. Near the top of his game, his fortunes change when he encounters Misako, a mysterious, death-obsessed woman who brings him a particularly difficult mission. In a famous moment indicative of the film's eccentric sensibility, a butterfly lands on his gun's sight at the exact moment he pulls the trigger, causing him to miss the shot. This failure means that the killer becomes the target, and must run for his life from his former employers, and the mysterious "No. 1 Killer." While the film does contain some spectacular action sequences, the story is played less as a suspense thriller than as a surrealistic, psychosexual nightmare, filled with grotesque imagery and strange touches, from Hanada's fetish for the smell of boiling rice, to Misako's use of a dead bird's corpse as a rear-view mirror decoration.

If only there was a system that could work downloads faster, let you turn off the system and continue the downloads on standby mode, and not make you install whatever you just downloaded...:whistle2:k...that's right...there's the lovely :360: :D
I've been downloading Tekken, which is 591 MB, for the past hour. It's 91% done. On the 360, it would have been done in 5 minutes.
Is 4chan down for everyone else? I've had trouble connecting to it for the past couple of days.
Yeah.

Thanks Brak. I think I threw that on Netflix a while back when you linked me to Criterion's list of film-noirs. I'll double check, though.

What did you think of Vengeance Is Mine?

Still haven't seen it for myself.

I was planning on watching a film tonight, but I was leaning towards watching Brute Force.

Hopefully it doesn't stir up the ghosts of prisoners. :[

That sounds really excellent. I'll have to check it out.

Equal with Live for me most of the time for me.

Well, that was sweet. I had a missed call from GS earlier in the day, so I called 'em back and they said my copy of FFIV was in. Apparently I paid it off a long time ago with some credit I racked up during the flipping times, so thats fine with me.

I had to rush to the GS before they closed though to pick it up. :)
Of course it is.
What? The internet connection quality determines how fast you get stuff off of PSN and the majority of the time they're both equal for me. That and demand, I guess, but that's the same for any download service.
Equal with Live for me most of the time for me.
Here's my situation with downloads:

Large file (like 200MB or more)
XBL and PSN are equal in my case with my internet speed (which is quite fast)

At one point, when Sony did an upgrade around late Summer of last year, PSN was definitely quicker, but there was a problem with downloads getting stuck at times and you had to pause/go to fix it.

Small files (like under 100MB)
PSN is slower.

Patches
PSN is definitely slower.

I know exactly what patches and small files have small downloads. One sacrifice Sony made (since PSN is a free service) was by putting more users on fewer servers when it comes to patches and smaller downloads (especially patches) because they don't receive any type of revenue for their network. MS on the other hand is receiving a lot of money; therefore, they can have several servers for faster downloads (for anything). That's one of the hidden reasons why PSN is free. Personally, I'm ok by it.
Rocko, does picture quality matter with submitted images?

If you can see the shirt image and your face fairly clearly it should be okay.
fuckEN shit bulls!

FiOs isnt available in my area anymore?...fuck da what? when was it available in the first place?
Where'd you get that info?

I wanna get that Carnival of Souls Criterion; I love that damned film.

I have a public domain copy, and I'm not sure if it's the theatrical cut, or the director's cut... either way, it's an amazing film.

After nearly a month, I finally unboxed my trip. Now I'm having tons of fun...doing a system update.

BTW: Does the PS3 wireless suck? I had to keep reconnecting over and over until it finally was able to get out to the intrawebs.
If you can see the shirt image and your face fairly clearly it should be okay.
Cool.
:whistle2:k

I need to check out some of Beat Takeshi's other movies.

I also really want to see the Death Note movie.
Beat Takeshi kicks ass.

I hate looking to purchase Asian films, or at least popular ones, because I feel like all this shit is pirated. I have no idea where to get a legit copy of the Death Note movie or Battle Royale.

PS3 wireless can suck ... i changed mine to wired and it still downs my network everytime it fires up and grabs its IP. I think it boots the wireless card whenever and the card seems to have an EMP effect on my network temporarily. I'll probably check that in a bit, now that my router is running DD-WRT.

Forgive my insolence, but are you using the PS3 wireless adapter?

The wireless NIC in the PS3 is fucking abysmal. I couldn't believe that a 4 year old Linksys Wireless Gaming Adapter got a better throughput than the PS3. Unfuckingbelievable. I hope the few people that actually bought a 20GB PS3 don't feel left out because of the PS3 Wireless.

I just downloaded the Too Human demo and actually liked it more than I thought. I might get the game too. Reminds me lot of PSO and the story was pretty decent in the demo. Found myself playing the demo for a while too.

I re-downloaded ToV from the U.S. store for I dunno what reason. I may eventually play it again.

I actually hate my 20GB and want a PS3 with WiFi (like the 40GB). Just the main reason I want it is because I sometimes want to take my PS3 in the basement and take it online, but I can't. I thought I heard the 40GB used better WiFi (one that had longer range), but I dunno since I never tested a PS3 WiFi before. As soon as I get a better job, I'm likely to just buy a new PS3 with a 320GB HDD (or 500GB if available) so I can have WiFi built in also.

I haven't noticed a real difference since I tethered it... but then again, it's tethered to an AP which is connected to the main router wirelessly.

w00t_culafi's nose is somehow smaller than Jon Arbuckle's nose.

Do your boy Bakestar a favor and email [email protected] and suggest that they add Powwow Highway to the collection.

Do you think they even read those?

But yeah, I did it. Message was a shitty, one sentence deal though.

No.

Shit is hard wired.

I conducted tests on two different 60 GB PS3s a few weeks ago (my idiot Sony friends had their WiFi wide open) and the damned PS3 wouldn't stay connected to the router, even though the router was less than 20 feet away! Keep that in mind if you plan to do some Online gaming.

Yeah, I'm kinda considering cabling it. Signal strength is 100%, but only grabs an IP about half the time.

Of course, I fired up the browser and tested it the same way I did with the Wii: youporn.com.

"What the fuck are you looking at?" I heard Pixie say from behind me.
