To those of you using VGA with your 360...

I was wondering, what did you buy so you could use your pc speakers with your 360? Preferably if you have a 5.1 pc set so you have three cables going into your sound card instead of the one green ended cable. Where did you buy these converters, what are they called? Thanks.

I use a 5/8" (I think that's the size, headphone/speaker size) splitter. Speakers in one side, VGA sound cables in the other - plug it into the sound card. Used it before to run mic'd headset and speakers at the same time so I wouldn't have to switch, and it works wonders. Picked it up for $3-4 at Radioshack.

I'm using my computer 5.1 system, so just with the volume control on the speaker - not sure how you'd do it with a regular home theatre 5.1 setup.

is there any way to have my audio cables going into my computer and going out through my sound card which is connected to my 5.1 system so i can control the volume and not have to switch around cables? Is there a way to switch what input my speakers play? (360 or PC)

Right now I'm using my PC monitor for my 360. For sound, I used the little adaptor that comes with the VGA cable and plugged it in to my PC microphone jack. If you're running Windows XP, you can set your volume control settings to playback sound that comes in through the microphone jack. Works well for me, but the problem is that your PC must be on to get sound out of the 360.

For the question you just asked, I dunno. Sorry.

Yea currently I have a 7.1 sound card but I can't hook up my pc speakers (2.1) and my 5.1 setup together, odd. So I have my xbox going to my new Samsung LCD Monitor and the audio hooked up to my 5.1 setup. I'll try this tomorrow!
