Tom Clancy 3pack for Xbox part of the 2 for $25 deal at Bestbuy YMMV

Just got back from my local Best Buy (Garner NC off HWY70) and asked 2 guys in the video game department if the Tom Clancy 3pack was part of the 2 for $25 sale. Now, I did a similar move during the last 2 for $30 sale and asked the head of the videogame/dvd department and he said that SSBM was included and had to have him tell the checkout girl. Plus, the huge handwritten sign when you walk in the store today that says "ALL Greatest Hits, Plantimun Hits, and Players Choice games 2 for $25" kinda helped with the checkout girl today. The pack comes with one of those "Try Xbox Live Free" cards, so $12.50 for 2 months of Live and 3 games is a pretty damn good deal IMO. YMMV because I don't know if this is just my local BB (since my brother and myself are in that place almost 2 times or more a week) or if it's everywhere, so good luck if you're going to look for it.

I tried this today and they were quick (waiting in line 10 minutes) to point out that there's a $19.99 game only clause in fine print under the ads. I went to a guy cashier and everything hoping he'd just let it fly but he had to go and be a nosy, argumentative bitch. I just walked out.

CC doesn't have Platinum hits 2 for 30...

And I thought CC wouldn't match special deals like this(buy one get one, etc), only prices?
You would be wrong my friend. I just PM the Sears sale where they had R&C: UYA for 2 for 25 and got two copies of R&C: UYA.
I concur on that one. They might bitch and only do the ones in the ad, like the Sears sale (which was 2 for 30, BTW), though for any PH/GH/GC games, they need to do it on any game.

Plus, since they'd be PMing down to $12.50, it's worth another $0.75 in a PM for 10% additional.
Hmm, my CC has a big sign posted up in the customer service center that says it excludes certain things like this. I guess this still counts, as you say(Thanks fortelling me btw both of you, have been trying to find this out for a few days), maybe they were talking about buy something and get something else free.
If they have a sign up, that's not CC policy, that's the store making a decision at the local level. If it's an advertised price, and BB has the games you want to buy in stock, they have to honor it. I was denied the 10% PM on one pair of R&C:UYA at one CC, where three other CC's did the PM + 10%. I called the CC corp office, filed a complaint, and was told by a corp customer relations rep and the store manager of the store in question that I was 100% correct.
Well, I tried to PM this at my one and only local CC and I was denied:( They said that it doesn't count, I guess because it's covered under the excluded list as a "special". But what is even worse is that they told me they no longer PM non-advertised store prices! :(
I did not know they could make local decisions like putting up that sign with extra rules.

CC just had to go and crap on my parade. :(

Is it covered under TRU's policy to PM a special deal like this?
That's complete crap that CC denied you for it. If it's not on the wall, as their PM policy should be, then they can't pull that crap out on you. That's funny, when they say "it's everything PH/GH/PC" in the ad, I guess there's a new definition of "everything" that I wasn't familiar with. If it's an advertised price and BB says it's everything, then CC needs to match it.

I'd give CC's corp # a call and bitch them out. Here it is: 800 251 2665

I got in on this, though my cashier called the Video Games dept. to make sure it was ok to override it. Apparently, they told her it was. My BB (San Jose, CA) also had the TC-3 pack on the 2 for $25 table so obviously one could argue that and walk out with it for $12.50....

These quotes are getting darn long.

Actually, I wasn't talking about they refused to let me buy the Tom Clancy 3-pack as part of the deal, I meant they wouldn't PM the sale AT ALL, they said they were not able to do the whole buy-2-for-25 deal, and they do have a big red sign on the wall that says it excludes "Specials, example, buy-one-get-one-free"---That's a paraphrase.

So I guess they win, but I can't remember if the store that has the lower prices has to be local or not, in fact, I don't think it says local at all, so would that techically mean they would have to PM that GameCrazy mis-print? i mean, if it doesn't say it has to be local, then it should count?

PS: I don't have a Game crazy even in my state.

Trimmed down a bit for sanity's sake. :D

They can't prevent you from doing the PM. It's not allowed under their rules for PM's.

The rules for their PM are for a local competitor, which is defined as someone within 25 miles of the area that the store is in. If you don't have a Gamecrazy handy in-town, you can't PM them.

From the CC website (http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/lookLearn.do?cat=-13318&edOid=105471&c=1):

Price Guarantee

If you've seen a lower advertised price from another local store with the same item in stock, we want to know about it. Bring it to our attention, and we'll gladly beat their price by 10% of the difference. If you see a lower advertised price (including our own sale prices) within 30 days of your purchase, we'll refund 110% of the difference.

Our policy applies only to advertised prices. It does not apply to special offers or promotions, including rebates, free-with-purchase offers and special financing. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide price matches online, so please visit the closest Circuit City store to take advantage of our Price Guarantee.

My bestbuy doesn't have the 3 pack in the platinum hits section. Though it has a bunch of platinum hits games without the platinum pkg: Ie medal of honor rising sun and red dead revolver.

I got prince of persia in gh pkg though...

So I guess that means there is no way around getting the 2-for-25 deal from CC:(

And since that exclusion of "special" stuff is on there, they would have the right to make it include this right?

yeah, the first time BB did this deal, they had no specific "19.99 and under" thingie in the ad. so, I just said "it says any PC, PH, and GH count" and they adjusted it. now it will definitely depend upon the CSR.

As far as the Top Spin/ NCAA Football disc, there's a guy on Ebay selling them for $16 with free shipping and they're still factory sealed. I bought one a little while back and the shipping is kind of slow, but it's a good deal.
