Tony Hawk Ride - Peripheral-Based Tony Hawk - Debut Trailer in OP

This was a game where I wouldn't mind keeping around another space-wasting plastic accessory provided the game itself played well. It doesn't sound like it does. I think I learned something though: cold releases aren't just reserved for bad movies.

The series ended for me with THUG. I hope Skate doesn't suffer the same fate, I'm a bit concerned at what little S3 seems to offer.

Is this the equivalent of movies that are released without press previews? :whistle2:k

I'm still interested in the game, but the reviews that weren't from that three hour session and the price tag are enough to keep me away, and long for the days of old-school Tony Hawk. If Activision just got back to the arcade gameplay that they had in the numbered games (and gave us a game without a "plot" that involves the cast of Jackass), I'd be happy.

That said, even a XBLA or PSN port of the original would be an improvement at this point, which is a damn shame.

No, they still got to see it, but on Activision's terms if they wanted day one reviews. If they didn't have the event at all, it would be the same.

Skate will be fine. All it needs to do is keep the gameplay the same and just change up the location and I'd be perfectly fine with it. As it stands though, they are actually adding a TON of group/multiplayer stuff with the skate teams and whatnot.

You mean going plastic? Uh, considering the awful reviews and grim retail outlook that Ride has, I don't think that EA could be stupid enough to do that. If anything, I'd bet they see this as their chance to really put the wayward Tony Hawk out of it's misery, with another solid Skate game, right in the face of this disaster.

I was thinking more along the lines of EA churning out skate games on a yearly basis. The online improvements for S3 seem well and good but there doesn't seem to be a whole lot new here aside from that. I'm still getting tons of mileage out of S2, a sequel seems too soon. But I digress, this isn't about Skate, it's about crappy Tony Hawk Ride. I have a feeling this probably isn't selling too well, and if that's true I think this might be the nail in the coffin. I am still compelled to at least try it though, but that'll have to wait until it's clearenced for $10 at sears.
