Tony Hawk Shred Bundle (Wii, PS3, 360) $20 at Big Lots
Although then the question gets raised, is $20 still too much for a broken game and peripheral you'll never use for anything else?
Yes

I was grabbing something at Big Lots today, and saw this for $20. Got the 360 version, calibrated easily, and so far the kids are having a lot of fun. I have a 3 and a 6 year old, and they are loving it.

I'm saying worth $20, and the board is small enough that it's easy to store.

but to be fair, you could have gotten your 3 and 6 year old any video game and they would have loved it, lol.

i dunno, i saw these there at my local big lots, a good amount of them too. but it really didn't seem worth it. i mean, there's a reason it's $20 at big lots.

My coworker picked this up for her son a while back. I told her how bad it was, but she decided to keep it. Me on the other hand, will never pick this up or Power Gig Bundle...

Not true, my kids play quite a few games. My 3yr old is hooked on Fancy Pants Adventures.. but they had a blast with this.

Neither of them can stand the Wii, and my son can probably beat you at SSIV and has beat multiple Sonic games.

Have you tried it, or are you just bashing it because you think it's cool to bash? For $20 it ain't bad at all. It got it's crap for being $100 and not worth it.. and it's not worth $100... but for $20? It's a steal.

I bought this recently, I have yet to play it, I'm actually playing Tony Hawk's Proving Ground and Project 8 recently (beat them both 100% and have over 250 hours logged into each game...). As the biggest Tony Hawk fan from part 1 through part 9, I just wish they made a real Tony Hawk 10 and not this silliness. But now my favorite series is dead. fuck *sniff*

haha, nah i don't think it's cool too bash it. i'm glad it worked out in your case and that your kids like the game, but (and i'm not 100% sure about this) i think the majority of the people on this site are teens to young adults and to buy this would really be a waste of their money. where younger kids like yours can look past all the flaws of the peripheral and game itself, those things will just annoy the hell out of anyone older.

I think you'd be surprised. Average age of a "gamer" these days is in the low to mid 30's. I believe Cheapy himself is about the same age as me. I believe we graduated from high-school the same year as well (1991).

I've considered picking this up for my son, it's cheap at sears as well - around $18 on clearance. I just don't want another peripheral laying around.

True dat. I'm 30yrs w/ a kid.

If you're young, unmarried and have no children, some purchase choices made by dads appear stupid.

There's a huge age range here on CAG, and it's often a source of contention. There's busy dads on here, looking to save a few bucks and get stuff for our kids, and then there's kids on here w/ more time than money, and they think everything has to be bashed and flamed.

Just remember that when we were young, our parents bought us "stupid garbage" that we wanted. Sooner or later, you grow up and have buy that same "stupid garbage" for *your* kids while you know full well what it is. :D

Easy fix. Forget new releases, pop this back in and feel the warm wave of goodness. ;)

Anyone still looking for the Tony Hawk bundles, check the toy section at your Big Lots. I found a whole shelf of them still back there (they were never in the videogame or special offer areas at my local Big Lots...I just assumed ours didn't get any in until I thought of checking back there just on the off chance).

I picked up Shred today for the PS3...and to chime in on the conversation, it's worth trying for $20. Not like the old Hawk games...maybe more like a Wii balance board game with a more specialized/responsive controller...but it's actually fun and challenging if you play through the tutorial and take the time to get the hang of it...

I was initially scared off by all of the comments online (probably 90% of them from people who have never even touched the game and are just going on hearsay). In the end, I'm glad I got it. I set it up in a few minutes, it calibrated in one go (despite being in a small room with about half the space they recommend), and I proceeded to play for 3 hours. Not a $100 game by any means, but well worth the $20...
