where you can by the blu ray dvd and digital copies in one pack..

be sort of neat if you could pick up a vita game or a ps3 game or a psp game ( i know the psp is dead but )

Ragnarok tactics for the psp for 29.99
or
Ragnarok Odyssey for the psp with vita download for 44.99

something like there where you can get a real hard copy of something and then a download on another system

Sony already started doing this with a few games. Purchase Sly Cooper or Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale on the PS3 and get a digital copy of the Vita version for free. There may be a few other games supported soon but those are the only ones I can think of at the moment.

Interesting and very good idea but I feel like the gaming industry is pretty greedy in general and this would be too consumer focused than they are ready to be. Already they complain non-stop about the used game market for consoles while selling their games 35% higher new than the PC market. Good idea though.

At least you would be able to do what you'd intend to do with it.

Now that I have a few Blu-rays with digital copies, they're a great idea ruined by restrictive DRM that prevents me from moving them to my Nexus 7 or streaming it to my consoles. I can basically just play it on my PC, which isn't why I'd want a digital copy. It doesn't help that there isn't much standardization of this stuff, so one company offers different options than others. Ultraviolet seems to be a huge waste when it lets me tie the game to Vudu, which has apps on Xbox 360 and PS3 where those don't show up.

When I originally read the title I thought you meant the common sense things companies should do to really mainstream video games, mass produce them in movie numbers, advertise the shit out of them and then charge $40 standard for new releases.
If not the price that I mention they could at least do it for those who preorder and set $50 as the standard price.

Your idea itself though, I agree. I'm one who has the idea if I buy a game I've purchased the license to it and fuck you as a company to tell me I don't have the right to jukebox it later through an emulation device.
I feel the same way with music and movies. I'm a legitimate consumer so don't try impeding me with this riddled DRM crap throughout movies, games, etc.
