Lets make a list. Top 10 games exclusive to the PS2. But since it is my list, I'm making some rules. Well one really, no RPGs.

No RPGs? Bah, that eliminates the best games on the system, but I'll adapt:

In no particular order:

Honorable Mention: Tekken 5

I tried to not mention anything that was ported to the PC, so that eliminated some Capcom games I would have otherwise listed (mainly Chaos Legion).

I can't really think of any others that are extremely great and exclusive to PS2... your rules are too restricting.
 
Kind of ridiculous to exclude RPGs since it was a genre that Sony really had a lock on. The Xbox and GC were pretty lacking when it came to those.

Why without RPGs (unless you're looking for what to pick up with the PS2 and you hate RPGs)? Some of the best PS2 games were role playing games. In no particular order...

1. Katamari Damacy
2. Shadow of the Collussus
3. Guitar Hero
4. Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution
5. Gran Turismo 4 (not really my type of game but utterly infallible if you're a gearhead who doesn't mind the lack of touch and go online play).
6. Dance Dance Revolution Max 2/Extreme 2
7. Gitaroo Man
8. Smackdown vs Raw 2006
9. Gungrave (I enjoyed it much more then DMC)
10. Ico
 
Two reasons why I left them out.

1) There are so many RPGs available for the PS2 that they clog every top ten list. I wanted to see what else the PS2 has to offer

2) I don't have that much time to spend on one game. I chose DQ8 and Star Ocean as the two exceptions, I'll make time for those.

Wow! I just realized what a great system the PS2 is. For a long time I considered it to be only a slight fraction better than the Cube, but now I see the way. And I didn't even mention God of War or the Metal Gear games because I think they're pretty overrated, but a lot of other people like them, so that's something to take into consideration. I hope the PS3 isn't as good. I don't want to be out 600 bones (or more likely spending a year agonizing on whether or not I should take that kind of plunge).

What are you talking about? Rygar's a great game. It's an actually good 3D Castlevania-style game.

Shut up! Rygar is the prototype build for Ninja Gaiden on the XBox! ;-)

4.Culdcept(Can I count this? It's a board game with RPG elements in it.).
5.VF4 Evolution

Jeez as for the other five I hate you. All RPG's but good stuff like "Me and Satan King" which is awesome if you play through it long enough and the SMT's. Oh and the Suikoden's. It's really hard for me to find anything other RPG's that stick out on the PS2 for exclusives. If you were talking about the DC then I'd EASILY be able to do it.
I mean, like on the DC front for originally exclusive FPS like games what else has been as good as Maken X besides Breakdown, Metroid Prime and MAYBE HL and HL2. I've played neither of the latter two so I can't judge.

Uh...no it's not. Onimusha 2 is PS2 exclusive. The first Onimusha was on Xbox, but not Onimusha 2.

You're kidding, right? The DC has almost nothing exclusive anymore, and what's still exclusive is mostly garbage save for a few titles.

I woulden't say Sony had a complete lock down on RPGs, especially since the greatest RPGs of this gen were on Xbox and GC. More does not mean better...

I was going to say that very thing, but it really gets 50% credit as an exclusive since the DC Rez only saw release in Japan and Europe.

single game do it for GTA.)

No RPG?

The system is worthless then.

Jak and Daxter suck, as well as Sly and Ratchet and Clank (just my opinion).
Metal Gear Solid 2 was a disgrace and is no longer system exclusive if you count Substance.
Castlevania sucked, there is no arguing that, if you listed it you only listed it because of the name.

I guess I'll give a vote for the Gran Turismo, Katamari games, perhaps Metal Gear Solid 3, and Mark of Kri.

^ Resident Evil 4 was on Gamecube, yes?
 
I don't understand how you could dislike the Ratchet series, unless you hate games.

With more spaces i would have put the res evil games (outbreak 1 and 2) the Fatal Frame games, the Silent Hill games and Siren)

I saw someone ripping on Rygar earlier on. That is a seriously good and fun game. It runs circles around most of the stuff released now.
