Top 25 in web traffic video game websites

I guess b/c CAG's main site has a PR of 5 and Alexa of 22,338. Those other sites are way better rank-wise.

Am I really supposed to believe that Kotaku gets more traffic then 1up? Also, are we supposed to believe that CheatCC and UGO are top ten websites? Hits, pure and simple, is the only effective way to measure traffic.

Kotaku is on there because it's part of the lifehacker/consumerist network. They get some nice linklove from a very powerful site in the eyes of google. If you look at the top blog list you can see that between gizmodo and lifehacker, that boosts inbound for kotaku.

I didn't even know UGO still existed, or cheatcc for that matter. Then there are a few I've never heard of. Yahoo is there for one reason, they are the top result on google for "Video Games." I've never really considered them a source for game information.

That's what I'm thinking. CheatCC? That site never seemed to really step into the future. I remember using that for like N64 codes.

My son is 10 years old and he and all of this poke-buddies know about Cheatcc. That the first place the brats go when they are stuck. I can't tell you how many times my son will play his DS/GBA games while sitting at the computer chair.

So, I can believe the site still gets a ton of hits.

Numbers 5-13 all seem a bit strange... I've never heard of CheatCC or Gamezone, Filefront and Yahoo seem like they shouldn't even be that high. I'm surprised Gametrailers, Joystiq, and Destructiod are so low.

I've never heard of Cheat-CC, but I can believe it's up there near the top.

I know back when I first got into gaming "Cheat Planet" was the first videogame website I regularly visited. I think it's been bought by GamesRadar now, but I've since moved onto more serious blogs and news sites.

And also it seems games these days don't have cheat codes anymore.

The only reason IGN is at the top is that IGN has so many Gameplay video and features pics of unreleased titles.

Gamespot is second the fact that Gamefaqs is pretty much Gamespot now.

You also have to consider worldwide results and not just the west.

I wonder what the top sites are in South America, Russia, and Asia???
