Top 5 actors of all time

William Holden (Stalag17, Wild Bunch), without him there would be no Bruce Willis
Orson Welles, (the man conviced people that aliens were invading, and that he 45 when he was 26)
Nicholson
Jimmy Stewart
Eastwood, (really isnt a great "actor" I sure love his movies)

Jonny Depp - can do anything.
Harrison Ford - I can't believe I'm the first to mention him.
Nicolas Cage - Excentric, but exceptional.
Tom Hanks - Cast Away and Terminal are two of the best movies I've ever seen.
Antonio Banderas - He's fuqqin hawt! He always kicks ass with style from Zoro to 13th Warrior back to Desperado.

Actresses

Julia Roberts - I've had a crush on her since Pretty Woman.
Ashley Judd- She's in a lot of B suspense movies, but she's still good at what she does.
Kate Beckinsale - Quite possibly one of the hottest women ever. I'll be honest, she could have starred in House of the Dead and I would have watched it TWICE.
I really cant think of any great female actors... None that stand out atleast. Cry/scream/look sexy is something most of them can all do well.

Honorable mentions

Patric Stuart
Bruce Willis
Mike Myers
Michael Keaton - Hes an awesome bad guy, a role he should really play more.
DeNiro & Paccino are great, BUT the RANDOM YELLing and ODD emPHASIS is weirD at TIMES!
Mel Gibson
Dwane Johnson
Sylvester Stalone
Arnold Schwhatistscoffer - Sure, they're action starts, but the defined a genre and really deserve tons of credit. They're also amazingly intelligent people.

my thoughts exactly fucking vin diesil and robin williams got mentions before him.

I'm surprised Macy hasn't come in here touting... himself.

+1 for Johnny Depp. Anyone who can pull off both Donnie Brasco and Pirates deserves praise.

Who else... Jack Lemmon, Daniel Day Lewis, Kevin Spacey, and Mike Myers. I can't say these guys are top five all time, but I do think they're great actors.

I guess that post was so shameful that everyone decided to try and bury it with their own. ;)
Bruce Willis

Surely you jest. How could anything by Vin Diesel beat The Rock's performance in The Scorpion King? Not even The Pacifier comes close.

Where's the love for Jeff Bridges? Am I the only one who thought his performance as The Dude deserved an Oscar?!?!

Thats like just your opinion, man.

Hey, careful, man, there's a beverage here!
does any performance have ANYTHING on Brando in Street Car Named Desire?

no, didn't think so.
Perhaps, but I can't get the image of a bloated Brando in The Island of Dr. Morneau out of my mind.

I had Brando.

I could of been a contenda.
1. Russel Crowe (god among Men)
2. Anythony Hopkins (Hannibal Lecter anyone)

Bill Murray
Peter Sellers
Johnny Depp
Jack Nicholson

Dont know for the fifth, maybe Tom Hanks.
(I love Jeff Bridges in Lebowski, but thats about all I love him in)

EDIT ** I am really the only guy who likes Jack?

In no particular order:

- Al Pacino
- Kevin Spacey
- Johny Depp
- Denzel Washington
- Tom Hanks

Honorable Mentions:
- Jim Carrey
- Samuel L. Jackson
- Nicholas Cage
- Christopher Walken

Arnold Schwartzanager
Samuel Jackson
Denzel Washington
Christopher Walken
Tom Hanks

Other great actors
Morgan Freeman
Sean Bean

My favorites:
Jeff Bridges (for the reasons the OP described. He made Lebowski a classic)
Ian McKellen
Walken
Ken Watanabe

I don't know about the other one.

My top 5 still stands (Eastwood, Bridges, Harris, Costner, and Gibson), but I must say that Depp is creeping up there. While Pirates is about to drop, I also like him in more obscure films, such as the Secret Window. It is kind of cool the way he picks lower-budget and odd films to do along with the "blockbusters."

I must say I am surprised that more votes haven't been cast for Eastwood, the ultimate alpha male. Where's the love?

My top 5 favorite are:
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Nicholas Cage
Al Pacino
Chevy Chase
Harrison Ford

no mentions of Chevy Chase besides me? what a shame...(Xmas, Vegas, and Euro Vacations, CaddyShack, SNL, and Fletch, c'mon guys)
