A Clockwork Orange
[/QUOTE]

Nice pick on a clockwork orange. I'm suprised by the lack of love for that movie. Its Kubrick's best, imo.

Lots of tough choices, but my top 5 in no particular order are:

Pan's Labyrinth
A Clockwork Orange (Just as good as the book, imo)
Snatch
Memento
The Matrix

Snatch
Inside Man
Wanted
The Departed
Kingdom of Heaven

Really hard for me to do this as someone who personally has over 500 movies in my collection I love films and It would be easier if you said 5 best action or 5 best comedies etc. But these are 5 I love dont know if they are my favorite 5 but they are up there.

Like so many others have said, it's tough to pick 5. Off the top of my head, in no particular order, just 5 of my favorites:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Searching for Bobby Fischer
Midnight Run
Airplane!
Unforgiven

5 greats, no order:

The Matrix
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Terminator 2
City of God
Brazil

Honorable mentions:
Almost Famous
Robocop
Shaun of the Dead
Snatch
Hook
Galaxy Quest
Airplane!
Dark City
Spiderman trilogy (yes, even the third, if not the most for me)
Drag Me to Hell
Batman Returns
(500) Days of Summer
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Ghostbusters
Back to the Future trilogy
For a Few Dollars More (it's a tighter film than TGTBTU and OUATITW, though West has arguably a better ending)
The Punisher (2004)

Animation, for the hell of it:
Princess Mononoke (Spirited Away is good, but the love/hype can kiss my ass)
Ghost in the Shell season 2 (10 hour movie)
Escaflowne sereies (10 hour movie)
Finding Nemo
The Incredibles
Lupin the Third: Castle of Cagliostro

Could go on, but will stop...

Jurassic Park
Happy Gilmore
Saving Private Ryan
Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Star Wars Trilogy (Original) (Cause I can't pick one)

1) A Christmas Story
2) Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original)
3) Finding Nemo
4) The Warriors
5) Evil Dead Trilogy (I count it as one long movie)

The Matrix
City of God
2001 a Space Odyssey
Goodfellas
Lost in Translation

Honorable Mentions:
The Exorcist
Original Star Wars Trilogy

Some of you guys have NO idea what a good movie is. I think you need to start picking movies from the 'big boy' section at your local movie store.

Anyway, mine are (roughly) :

The Shawshank Redemption
Gran Torino
Goodfellas
Cool Hand Luke
Caddyshack
