okay so i never thought id own a portable video game system ever again, but now that i tour regularly i picked up a refurb online. I have a few questions, and it'd be great if you CAGS can help...

1) If it has the most recent firmware (haven't checked it yet i am at work) do i have to downgrade to be able to get NES emulators, etc?

2) If/Once I do downgrade to get emulators etc. can i still play new games and the downloads from PSstore?

3) Can I do the psx rips on a mac or do i have to have a pc/windows?

4) What are the best sites to get downloads, emus, content, etc?

I know I could spend all day reading this board to get this info but this will be quicker. sorry if these ?s have been asked 1000 times already.

You're now able to downgrade from 3.03, using a unpatched version of Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories. However 3.10 firmware was just released yesterday and that can't be downgraded yet. So it depends on how recently you updated the firmware.

Yes. As long as you are running custom firmware.

Not sure.

okay so heres my status.

my firmware is 2.82 I would have upgraded to 3.03 but my memory stick isn't hear yet (ordered online) and now if i upgrade its gonna go to 3.10 which is already decrypted but not yet downgradable. I bought GTA VCS hoping since its pretty new it would have 3.03 on it but it has 2.81

I can't download the 3.03 update online from qj cuz i have a mac and it says it cant read the source file. so...

does anyone know of a site that has a version of 3.03 i can download that will work with my mac? or

what games that came out recently have 3.03 on disc?

thanks for the input so far. please keep it up. i am trying to get this whole deal set up before i leave for tour in two weeks.
 
The only system reading the update should be your PSP, so your OS shouldn't have any effect.

What do you mean by can't read the source file?
 
nevermind that sorry. its downloading now without the error message. it did say to try again later. i think it may have had something to do with my connection at work. thanks anyway though. once my mem stick gets here ill post if i need more help...
