CAGiversary!

I'm just kind of wondering how many games everyone here has. I am not a collector by any means but I find myself with 170 games. 10 of those are either Virtual Console or Live Arcade games. The other 160 are split between PSX, PS2, PSP, XBOX, XBOX 360, GBC, GBA, DS, N64, GC, and Wii. There are some games that I'm keeping like Fighters, Zeldas, and others I would go back and play again...but there are also quite a few I need to finish and sell off. It's scary because I feel as if I really weeded out the junk that CAG's tend to pick up over the years and I'm left with stuff I want to play. Some stuff is packed away like the N64 stuff but it almost makes me feel like the whole virtual console stuff isn't so bad (less clutter). I just wish I could resell virtual games.

I haven't updated my collection list in what seems like forever. If I count just console games and handheld games, I'm at around 600 (625-630 counting duplicate titles). If I count PC and Commodore 64 games as well, I'm probably around 1000 at this point. Until I update my collection list, this is just a rough estimate.

My probably-not-up-to-date IGN collection says I have 95 games, which includes some old ass PC games like Warcraft 1. Used to be 220 or so, yay.

These are very rough estimates.

Atari 2600: 75+ games

NES: 235+ games

SNES: 25+ games

Turbo Grafx 16: 12 games

Playstation: 100+ games

Nintendo 64: 50+ games

Playstation 2: 200+ games

Xbox: 90+ games

Gamecube: 50+ games

Gameboy Advance: 50+ games

Nintendo DS: 65+ games

Nintendo Wii: 8 games

Xbox 360: 10 games

Let's see.. I have 167 XBox games, 42 360 games, about 65 NES games, 18 GBA, 12 GB/GBC, 9 Sega CD, 2 Sega Saturn, 6 Wii, 37 Dreamcast, 7 Game Gear, 7 PS2, 4 PS3, 58 PC games and 39 PS1 games (but mostly rare ones.. 2x FF7 Black Label, Castlevania: SOTN, 3x FFA, 3x FFC, 2x Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Parasite Eve 1 and 2, FF8 and FF9, etc) and 42 SNES (Including Lufia, Lufia 2, Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, FF2, FF3.. most with box/instructions)

So.. way too many. 500+. Shipwreck's collection dwarfs our collections, though

Right now, I have 539 games in my collection. This is counting e-reader card games but not downloaded games on 360/wii. It also includes around 60 atari, intellevision, odyssey 2, and colecovision games that are in boxes in my garage...I don't know if they'll ever get hooked up. I should probably sell those.

I have over 500 games. The majority of my games (collections with 50+) are PS1, PS2, and PSP. I use to have 700 games, but I'm now down to 500. Hope to get down to 450. I hate owning tons of video games, but when you have no girlfriend, it's hard not to buy many games.

I'm down pretty low. Like 50 I think in GB, GBC, GBA, DS, PSP, GC, Wii, Xbox, and 360 games. I have a handful of NES and Genesis games at home, as well as 10 or so games on the VC and 10 or so on the XBLA.

Everyone remember this seeming contradiction:

Small collection > Large collection

I prefer threads about female anatomy. But to each their own.

Back to the topic. I have umm 1 PS2 game (Madden that isnt worth selling). And 1 Xbox 360 game... until I sell that. So I think my game collection wins with a total of 2 titles.

Less than 100.

I have around 40 DS games, less than 15 PS2 games, less than 15 GC games, less than 15 Xbox 360 games, 3 GBA games, and 3 PS1 games. Sold off all of my SNES and N64 stuff since I plan on getting them through the Virtual Console.

I have barely over 400 games when you count all the systems...but I don't see how that's a my dick is bigger than yours thing. If anything I felt slightly embarrassed when I realised how many games I owned, and that's with trading games in for credit.

Still I know some folks with crazy DVD collections that make my game stockpile took tame by comparrison.
If anything I felt slightly embarrassed when I realised how many games I owned, and that's with trading games in for credit.
Why do you feel embarrassed? These are games that you bought to enjoy at some time in your life and most of them you decided to keep instead of sell back. It's your proven gaming resume (that is if you were able to play most of them).

I just counted my 'resume' (;)) and I'm in the 300-400 range. Usually the people with the larger collections are people that collect or have been gaming for a long time. I've been gaming since the 2600 and while I never owned a 2600 I did and still own my 7800 with all the games I had/have for it (2600 carts included).

Agreed. You have to be a total fucking nerd to think that a huge gaming collection somehow adds inches to your e-penis. If anything, it just puts you closer and closer to never needing it again.

GameTZ's statistics say I have 540 games. Probably includes a few duplicates but definitely less than 10.

*540 total games. The following statistics progressively break down my collection:

*323 of 540 in my collection.
*About 120 of 323 are games I've completed and keep out of sentimental value.
*About 203 of 323 in my collection are games I think I'll get around to this lifetime.
*170 of 203 are collection games I'll probably trade/sell at some point in years ahead when their sum worth equals close to a new non-Kia car.

...and like a happy tumor, my collection keeps growing, too. So more will be added in years to come.

My e-penis is HUMONGROID. At least that's what she said. . . or he said.

I never have gotten around to counting but rough estimates

Consoles

Intellivision - 30
NES - 230
SNES - 200
N64 - 130
GC - 125
Wii - 15
SMS - 30
Gen - 100
Sega CD - 50
Saturn - 40
Dreamcast - 100
PS1 - 350
PS2 - 250
Xbox - 100

Portables
GB-GBC-GBA 300
Game Gear - 100
Gamecom - 2
Neogeo PC - 8
DS - 60

So I guess slightly over 2000 games

I was just wondering what other people had mainly because I have 170 (10 Virtual) games which I think is too much not because I or anyone else (which I can tell from this thread) want to show off.

Well I guess you proved that whole potato chip theory wrong!

Sounds like somebody is jealous! :booty:

What the hell else am I going to use my e-penis for?
My e-penis is HUMONGROID. At least that's what she said. . . or he said.
You don't know who I am but I'm with Dateline NBC. Don't bother running, we'll catch you.

I haven't even hit 100 games.

I have 40ish PS2 games which is the most I have for any console I own. I feel bad about it and have begun to sell ones I haven't played in a long while.

Not updated IGN list says 1218. But probably misleading because there are compilations which include bunches of games together and there is other stuff I haven't included yet. Managed to keep the numbers of games reasonably even for each console so it's not over bloated like some who may favor certain console(s) over others.

My guess is that I'm somewhere around 200 games. I have no desire to count them out and a good chunk of them are in my parent's house (and will probably stay there until they move or clean out my room). Of the games that i still have with me, I think I have about 12 that I haven't played.

I only keep games I've at least played once (I think even Shipwreck has that policy, even though he has a staggering amount of games).

It's only a temporary embarrassment, when realizing all the money I've spent on the hobby. But my wife collects model horses, and has over 2,000 of them, and they cost about the same. I end up looking sane and responsible by comparrison :)

Hmm... according to my count, I barely have over 400 games. Then mrs. ship has 400 games. My oldest cat has 400 games. My middle cat has 400 games. My youngest cat only has a few pawfuls of games though. Strangely enough, she's the least social out of all of us.

Yes, Mrs. Shipwreck instituted the only having games we might someday play at least once policy a while back. But, to Ship's credit, I also have a very girly collection of old Nancy Drew-type books that I willl shell out cash for, so it's all good. At least, it will be once we're out of our two bedroom apartment. The second bedroom has nothing but tubs of games in it. :D

Why doesn't the Mrs. Shipwreck avatar not have a mustache?

Actually, I dunno... my immediate guess is under 50, but when I include NES, SNES, SEGA stuff, GBA etc etc etc, I just might even go over the 50 mark, which now that I realize gives cause for me to worry about myself.

I think I'm going to sell off most of the collection I can get any money for, and start from the beginning buying just the classics everyone ought to have.

my collection is small, but compared to some of my friends, they tell me it's huge.

psp - 8
ds - 14
ps1 - 9
n64 - 21
xbox - 24
ps2 - 32
gamecube - 21
gba - 14
gameboy - 21
gbc - 10

Although I rarely have people by my apartment, one friend (along with his friend) stopped by my apartment to pick something up (Well, to most people, I'd be called a nerd, and they would be called normal people). While inside, they saw my massive collection (I had around 300 games in my apartment) and couldn't believe they were seeing that many games at one place. They told me that most people they know, just own a couple of video games (like 6-10), while I had two huge towers of games.

Now if you're talking about the PC Adventure games then that's a whole 'nother story. ;)

wait a second, that didn't come out like I wanted.

Somewhere around 500 games. If they had any value, I'd sell a lot of them but I'd rather hold on to them than get around $1 a game (I couldn't even be happy getting $10 for a game I paid $50+ for years ago even though the value has dropped so I'd rather keep it)

The majority of my games wouldn't fetch too much trying to sell them either. It'd be more hassle than what it's worth.

I'm close to 1300 games and 1400 dvds. I gave up cataloging them through ign and guzzlefish and moved to Delicious Library, which I highly recommend for anyone on a mac with a webcam. Nothing is as simple as scanning barcodes!

http://www.delicious-monster.com/

It also supports anything with an ISBN # or a barcode, so strategy guides and resident evil controllers work too!
