nice. I think I'll have to go check mine out here in Tempe. I'm sure not much is left but I'll see what I can do. hahaha maybe I'll finally bite on a PS2 with FFXII coming out.

its getting a little more tempting with some of the best hits games costing 14 dollars. With local taxes, it would cost 15.26.

Is that as low as cheap as it gets?

There are no PS2's at the Tempe location. I bought my 360 there almost a month ago and the only systems they had were 360's and PSP's. Let me know though how the selection looks if you visit.

If you want to hold out the prices will definitely go down. The greatest hits are tempting, but still not good enough for me; I'm holding out for $10 or less.

Most of the other games (particularly the Xbox 360 ones) are so overpriced that you're not even getting a deal at this point. That doesn't seem to stop people from buying them though (as evidenced by the Foggy Bottom store only having two 360 games left ).

I had noted some of the games I wanted and their prices on my phone when I was there and just did a price search, walmart seems to have some of the games I'm looking for at 10 dollars. Although I'm morally and ethically opposed to that shop, I'm financially unopposed against them.

ack, a noob beat me to it.

Yep I can confirm this information as well.

Everything else should also mention Toys.

DVD's are now 30% off
Most cd's including Soundtracks are 30% off so basically they are now below standard BB/CC prices or close to it.
Books are 30% off but meh.

There was a sign saying something like "couldn't find the CD/DVD you were looking for? Check back at a later date as additional shipments from the wearhouse arrives!" or something to that matter. Ok, what the hell? if you go to the online store, they are still getting new shit, yet stores aren't getting the new shit. Thats bullshit!!! So don't be surpised if a shipment of a 360/psp comes in during the 50% off mark :whistle2:O

You guys with games and systems still left are REALLY lucky.. the closest Tower to me with any game AREA left (most cleared out the area long ago) only has a bunch of Xbox Live kits, some random Xbox Monster cables, and about 700 of the Sony portable speakers... games are all looooooong gone.

It would suck if they put out new 360s NOW although I find it hard to believe-- they need to make a profit on this stuff to make the liquidation purchase make sense, and 360s at 25% off were already less than they paid for them wholesale.

I cant believe they do another price drop the day after I move back home...

-_- ......

I dont even kno where the closest tower to me is anymore...

probably hollywood tho...
Nope, still at 30%
funny when all this began, anime dvds were the first to jump to 20-30% when when dvds when up(non anime), the percent went down.

I don't think that you know how these liquidation companies work. They simply buy the entire company, and they throw out a number as to how much they believe the saleable assets are worth...then it is up to the liquidation company to recoup as much as possible. So regardless of the profit margins of a 360, it doesn't really matter, per se.

Yeah, that's basically what I said. They wouldn't have been holding back stock of items at lower %'s off in order to put it out NOW. They need to make as much per item as possible, so they're going to put out as much as they can at the lowest % off to maximize profit. They want to move stuff today, not tomorrow, as with a lower % off they start making money back.

I just meant it was very unlikely new Xbox 360s would show up as they would've had them out before to sell at a lower % off. It makes no sense for there to be a warehouse of them that they would've had put out since they were selling so fast at 25%. They wouldn't wait for the 30% off to put more stock out.

Back on topic, though-- is Tower.com going out too? Or are they going to try to remain going online?

Tempe didn't have much for me. I did see FFXI for the 360 at $30 - 30% = $21, which seemed like a decent price. They had some best hits games too. I didn't see any systems but I forgot to ask. It seemed unlikely that they'd have them anyway. I found some ok deals on older music. All and all the sale was pretty meh. Maybe I'll go back when they have another pricedrop.

I had to ask about the systems. They have them locked in a cabinet where you can't see them at all.

Sorry if I seemed as I was jumping down your throat. That wasn't my intent, at all. You were exactly right...as for Tower.com, I would presume that they are under the same holding company, but we have yet to see anything clearance-wise on that end. I don't know if they have warehouses, or if they ship out from stores.....
Nope, still at 30%
If your Tower has a rental section, all rental DVDs are 50% off the retail price. The one I was at a few weeks ago had a fair (though modest) anime section.

yea I encountered some LOCKED draws right under the video game section. They refused to open it and tell me what's inside. my guess is the employees are hording the PSP's/360's and other good shit til the prices go down even more. What the fuck!!!

anyone get this in there email?

10% off??? selling tower.com?????????????

Went to the Tower in Laguna Hills, CA today. I was hoping CDs would be 40% off. They were, sort of.

The discount for CDs was 30%, but the store had a "special" for Tuesday and Wednesday (today) giving an extra 10% off.

I'd been in last week, so I went to the CDs I didn't want to buy at 30% off. There's still a few that are plentiful that I held off on buying today, so I'll go back in a week or two.

PSP movies are now 60% off until this weekend. Video games are at 30%.

that extra 10% off CD's only was meh. Some fuckers in my area horded most of the good cd soundtracks :whistle2:(

There is still a good amount of tv show box sets, so I guess they will start flying at the 40-50% mark.

My guess is next week 40% off will hit. I will shoot myself if they pull a sneaky one of 80% everything for a few hours only on blackfriday (unadvertised). Anyways they started selling the fixtures in my area store. some really good prices on these cd/dvd holders starting at 25 bucks!!! and those things can hold about 400 cds!! strange though...they say you have to buy it now and have to wait til a later date to pick them up ;-( oh no..not falling for that shit.

That isn't bullshit, that's the truth! You basically put the rack on layaway; by paying for it, they hold it for you. Unfortunately for you, you cannot walk out of the store with it yet because they probably still need it for the CDs that it is currently displaying. Or perhaps they need to inventory the racks at store closing to get them accounted for, and then they hand it over. Either way, it's not an uncommon practice and I saw it happen at the Wherehouse B&Ms I visited in their final days.

As for the sales in my area, CDs are still mostly 30% off with hip-hop going for 40%. No games or accessories carried at my location.

the deals sucked last weekend for the West Covina location but I can say that they have loads of stuff in stock in terms of dvds and cds but sheet music, collectibles, and anime have all been cleaned out, they werent even going for good prices but people are usually dumb and buy them if a big percentage is slapped on.

They have lots of movies so wait till it reaches 50% to start looking for specific titles and then after that I'll be planning to just look around and see if there are any good boxsets worth picking up

Thursday Update (11/9):
In the Foggy Bottom (Washington, DC) location the discounts are the same as last week except that music DVDs have jumped up to 40% off. So, the list is as follows:

Magazines: 60% off
CD Singles: 50% off
Rap and Latin CDs: 40% off
Latin DVDs: 40% off
Music DVDs: 40% off
Everything else (including video games and accessories): 30% off

Pretty disappointing. Is this true at the other locations too?

I am wondering what thanksgiving/bf % will be? save an extra 5% for 4 hrs only!?!? LOL
I stashed a few PS2 RPG's, MS Saga, Metal Saga, Grandia III, & Devil Kings, awaiting a lower drop for them.
dude wtf, I hope someone finds them and buys them so when you come back they are gone. You shouldn't hoard or stash the shit. 30-40% is going to be the best you can squeeze out of it before someone takes it.

I doubt they'll stay "stashed" very long if his store is anything like mine. With all of the warehouse shipments coming in and fixtures being sold, the merchandise is being moved around so much it would be impossible to keep something hidden.

Not hoarding, I didn't have the funds to get them at that time. And I doubt anyone will find them anytime soon. I've yet to have anyone find any of my stashes anywhere I go. I have good spots! I have had a Sega Master system stashed at a goodwill for like 6 months now and it's still where I put it.;)

Oh, and if I was hoarding I'd have stashed every copy of those games they had. I did leave the rest out in the open in the game rack for anyone else to find. Also they still had a lot of stock, so I don't think they'll be getting rid of any fixtures anytime soon.

dot dot dot

...come on, man, it's not like he was at your store... most of us would have done the same thing.

You SUCK and you should be banned from CAG, we don't hoard!!!!!!!!!!
do thay have 360 stuff
for the last time NO!!!!!!!!!!!

like someone said, some people think 10-25% off something from a place that marks up shit atleast 30-40% more then other places is a good deal. a good deal of game system accessories were gone at the 10-25% mark including the system. The only thing left is PSP junk accessories.

dude you are trying to keep the stuff for yourself BEFORE you buy it. It's not yours til you pay for it so therefor its up for grabs for anyone who pays first.

There is plenty of stuff I want (mostly tv show dvds) but going to wait til it reaches 40% off, there by making it roughly 15-25 bucks cheaper then best buy (at that rate). If i don't get it, oh well, but its not like I am going to stash a copy of Beavis and Butthead Vol 2 so no one can get it til it reaches a later date. Trust me someone is going to find it and put it back on the shelf and yes they are watching you on camera. As soon as they start moving shelves to put them on sale, your spot will be discovered. Man if I saw you do this at my store, I would wait and see where you stashed your shit, and once you move away from the area, I would pick it up, see if its worth it..if it is, I would buy it right infront of you and brag how "seems someone tried to hide this back there". If it is nothing but garbage, I would "redistrubute" your items all over the store making you go crazy looking for it or for some other guy to pick it up lol :)

bottom line is, if you haven't bought it yet, its fair game to everyone so don't cry if someone finds it and buys it before you because you tried to hide it, you have no rights to it PERIOD.

Stil not worth it Those magazines are old not new ones from last month so theyre not ne
as for the cds most of the good stuff was bought out but you might be lucky
got a few dvd's for 40% off today at the tower in tustin...
ahh sorry i meant music dvd's

i was just thinking......maybe at 50% mark, it might be time to stock pile on BR/HD movies even though I am a year or 2 from getting a BR/HD system..but then again we might see a second release of these discs with even MORE features. :whistle2:(

Holding out for at least 50% off on cds. Several I saw in Philly were still priced $4-$8 higher than everywhere else. Tower's retail prices suck.
do thay have 360 stuff
My store has 360 games and some accessories, but not a lot of them. The games are mostly overpriced junk too. There is plenty of PSP, PS2, and Xbox stuff though... and a bit of Gamecube.

Many prices are simply awful gouging. I certainly wouldn't buy anything that's popular right now, as they all seem to be 18.99 or 19.99.

That said, many of the more obscure or less recognizeable CDs are not priced so high, and are a pretty good deal at 40% or even 30% off.

What a weird business model -- charge extra for the CDs most people want, and charge less (but still high) for everything else. No wonder they went belly up.

So true! I was able to clean house on some quality "back cat" that never goes on sale.

The newer releases were quite well-stocked, so I'm confident some of it will still be available as the discounts improve in the coming weeks.
