UPDATE: 12/5/06

All cd's are now 60% off!

DVD's are now 50% off

Toys are now 50% off, again nothing really worth getting.

Magazines are 90% off........

Porn now 50%

Books 60%
When will the games drop to 70-80%??
i will make a run tomorrow ...everytime I call I always hear the guy say everything updated 5% ...so that means stuff like cds are 65% off?

It appeared as if everything in the Tempe, AZ store is now 70% off. I couldn't find anything that wasn't. I picked up a couple CD's and DVD's for around $5 a piece. They only had one game that I could find, NFL Head Coach for the PS2. I didn't even check the price on it, but it was in a 70% off section. They did have some Microsoft Xbox (Original) Memory cards marked as $19.99, so after 70% they would be $6.

They also had a sign saying they were closing in 4 days, so it looks like Saturday is the last day.

Eh? Bah!

I was at the Laguna Hills Tower yesterday -- I was in the area and hadn't bothered to go the previous week.

CDs were 60%, Magazines 80%, UMDs 90%, all Rap music was $1.50 per CD (but it's all garbage) and everything else 50%. There were no UMDs left -- congratulations to whoever stumbled upon them when they went from 40% to 90% off.

There are about 7 games and 10 HD/Blu-Ray discs left. The games suck, except for Chibi Robo, and the price on that sucks.

If CDs are only going to 65%, I won't bother going. Still lots and lots of CDs.

the fairfax one is still 50% games (but there aren't any more), 60% books, 90% mags, 75% rap and singles, and 60% dvd and everything else. not much is left. there's also a big sign that says 10 days left.

wow someone actually bought the games that were marked 49.99 down to 24.99? I was really hoping to snag Ace Combat Zero, but some pricks bought all the copies at 10% off 39.99...

Did you see any more storage racks (boxed, not the ones they are asking between 25-100 dollars for when they were used for store use)? Bought these two racks from them last week that I used not only to hold nearly 300 of my cd's, but to display my star wars/JLU figures with. Too bad some fuckers bought ALL Loutous of Borg figures, it would have been nice to have one :( I was tempted to buy those TNG figures but then go nuts trying to find a Geordi, Data and Crusher figure to make them complete.

oh yea and the fuckers double charged my credit card for the same amount 3 weeks ago :(

can we get a confirmation of what the current discounts are? I went again last saturday, but DVDs were still just 50% off. I dont want to go back untill stuff is at least 80%.

sorry didn't pay attention to the furniture but i saw some bookselves labeled $35. there are some toys left but nothing really good (or cheap).

How many times did you pass them up? Don't be a hater just because someone was less of a cheap ass than you.

I got a lot of great CDs at 30% - the stuff that I knew wouldn't last. Then I got some pleasant surprises at 50%. This weekend, I hit another location and found even more stuff at even better prices.

It's getting tougher to find gems, but there is still a surprising amount of quality music left for the taking. There were racks of "adventure pick" material for $1. For that price, it's tough to go wrong. I'll be doing the circuit at least one more time before the closing date.

I gotta go back Sat. for a bunch of cds. When are PSP movies going down even more?

wow 9 days left til the close down.

really not much left except junk movies and cds... Picked up Spiderman 1 and 2 pack (widescreen for 10 bucks) and a few cds.

Bought 3 pieces of furniture. 2 for my action figure display :p and one bookshelf that could use some goo gone. Unfortunitly it the bookshelf would NOT fit in my CRV :( so I am picking it up later in my mom's bigger car.

I passed it ONCE when it was like 20% off....then said oh well and tried to pick it up 2 days later and they were gone. Seems EBAY has ton of them right now for sale.....in other words flippers :p

Yea nothing really good.

Anyways..........

I will be really, really surprised if someone buys that couch in the book area at what 75 dollars? If you look at it, looks like some semen stains on it and other stains...WTF?!?!?

Looks like the "Liquidator" is a guy name Don. If you negotiate with him, he might be able to drop the prices of some stuff.

Today, at Tower in Laguna Hills (I went anyway):

CDs 70% off
DVDs 60% off
Magazines 50 cents each
All Rap $1.50
All Latin $2
All Jazz $4

Tons of good CDs left -- I picked up over 30 and put 10 back. Some new ones, and more of some that were sold out/one left.

I wish this store wasn't going under. They were my source for a lot of lesser known bands that Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. didn't stock. Yeah, there's still Amazon, but Tower had a more varied selection and good deals like frequent unlimited $9.99 sales.

RIP Tower.

Tower was one of the few places that hired Goths.............. oh well......maybe its time for them to get real jobs.

Only two HD-DVDs at the West Covina Tower...ATL and Dukes of Hazzard. Both overpriced, as well.

Does anyone know when the Atlanta, GA Tower is scheduled to close? I'll be in the area on the 22nd and was hoping that it'd still be open by then.

It was tempting to go crazy when I finally made it out to a Tower yesterday, but I remembered to keep the usual Half.com/Amazon marketplace deals in mind while I was shopping. Still, I came upon some good finds. An Oingo Boingo double-disc set, a Ladytron CD-DVD combo, and some Morris Day & The Time CDs (oh yeah baby). I also got both FLCL mangas, which appeared to be 80% off, despite the big "70% off" sign right above them. As a nice bonus, I noticed later on that the guy forgot to ring up one of them, so I effectively got the mangas for a buck each. :D

I went to the Tower on broadway in NYC and they didnt really have much left but dvds were 60% off then 10% off of that. I did manage to pick up youre under arrest box set 3 for $24 :)

I went to the Harvard Sq (Mass.) store, two days ago and all rap was 99 cents, 60% of DVDs, and I think 70% of the rest of the CDs.

If you like rap they had quite a bit, and some decent DVDs too

ok i finally picked up my bookshelf, but the damn thing was apparently made with peg holes that weren't drilled to strieght to match across :( damn it

Anyways..........ok I am finish with Tower. I say I got 20-25 cd's from them, a few dvds a bit cheaper then bb. Some nice packaged shelves for my action figure display and cds :) Not too bad of a haul these past few weeks. I wish I could have gotten the B5 Season 2 and 3 dvds, but I only had enough money for S1. Got some descenlt action figures hehe.
does anyone know if the stores are still open? The website says that the stores are closed.
When I was there on Wednesday (12/13), they had signs up saying "Only 10 Days Left." That was in Long Island New York.

Anyone know if the New Orleans store is still open, I plan on going to the Big Easy for the first time since Katrina on Saturday and would like to check it out

Got myself a dozen cds for $5 each, but it seems it was only at this store in east l.a. and they even had some games left. I was able to get GRAW for $11:D . But when I went to another store they only had cds for 70%off and dvds were still 50% off. But they had nothing good. Sign said they will close in 6 days.

I just went to the newport location yeasterday, and they are still open. They closed at 10 tho, I thought they normally close at 12
Are nyc stores still open? I'm lookin for 360 acessories, including the hdd.. so does anyone recall seeing antyhing left?
I wouldn't expect to find the HD...maybe the memory card if you are really lucky.
I wouldn't expect to find the HD...maybe the memory card if you are really lucky.
Did not see any (but the memory card) last week, and some PSP movies...

West Covina is almost cleared out, all the good CD's are gone, still some DVD's left, no games, no anime, I think porno is gone too maybe a few crappy titles left

Stopped by the Tower in D.C. by GWU on Friday, 12.15. The sign said 5 days left. Pop/Rock CD's were 70% off, but the cashier marked them all down to $1 a piece. (The pickings were thin and the store was busy.)

The one in San Francisco's Stonestown Mall is only open for the next 5 days.

Aside from that, they had almost nothing left, since everything in the store was 60-70% off.

I managed to get some good cds I've been thinking about picking up, so I'm happy.

Other than that, all they had left was a lot of the local rap/hip hop artists, Spanish Language DVDs, Latin, Classical, Indie, World and Compilation CDs. (Yes, in other words, all they had left was CRAP)

What was discount at?

I picked up a lot of good stuff at Tower the two times I went. Altogether 17 cds, 3 posters, a book, and Shadow Hearts New World. I went yesterday and a lot the stuff was gone. PSP movies were halfway gone, most of the games picked through(when I had went there a week ago there was like 6 copies of Shadow Hearts and a bunch of PSP games).

I might go back during the week, not much left though.

If you're out in Huntington Station on Long Island don't expect much other than absolutely garbage CDs, a few random magazines, and a few odd accessories. There are some decent movies left for reasonable prices but you have to slog through a lot to find them. But as far as games and game accessories are concerned you'll have an easier time finding those in Weight Watchers than you are in what's left of Tower Records. ;)
What was discount at?
The discount for DVD's was at 60% with no boxsets left but some more recent releases so that may interest you.

They close in about one more week I believe

yep this is the last week. I will swing by on Wednesday or Tuesday just for the hell of it, take a quick picture and say goodbye... There is really nothing left and even if they mark down all cd's to 1 dollar , there is still going to be plenty of crap left.

My Tower Records in VA doesn't have any gaming stuff left. But magazines were 95% off and I picked up some $8 Soccer Magazines for the UK for 40 cents each. Surprising, Tower did still have tons of stuff in the... ahem adult section.

There isn't much I wouldn't buy for a buck! K-Fed, William Hung... that's about it!
There isn't much I wouldn't buy for a buck! K-Fed, William Hung... that's about it!
Unfortunately, K-Fed's album came out after Tower started their closing sale, so they never carried it. And I didn't see Hung's album at my local stores, strangely. I did find some weird Pryde of the X-Men album that's apparently a pseudo-soundtrack to an X-Men cartoon that never made it past a pilot. Why it's on CD, I have no idea...

I was going to pick up William Shatner's album after it dropped to 60% off but the day that happened all 5 copies at my local stores disappeared!!!

It was 80% off most everything at Tower Sherman Oaks (CA). It was pretty picked over (it is truly amazing how many copies they have of CDs by groups you've never ever heard of) although I found a few interesting things. Magazines were 95% off. They're closing Friday. RIP, Tower.

Swung by, didn't find much, two CDs, both jazz. Oh and a $1 copy of Matisyahu.

Is there a list anywhere on the Web of what stores are still open/closed? When I checked out tonight the guy thought a large number of stores closed last Friday. Does anyone know if Tower Sunset is still open?

They must have had some 1 day only sale over the weekend cause 98% of there dvd's are GONE :O

Nothing , and I mean nothing is really left at the fairfax tower store. DVD's are 70% off but nothing worth getting, not even the beavis and butthead dvd's are left :)

AHHH! I need more time to get around to all the Towers in my area!!!
I should have some time on Thursday IF they don't all close tomorrow.
Anyone know for sure the final day or is it YMMV?
Thx.
