Went to the Tyson's Corner Tower, didn't have much left but I picked up 2 DVDs at 80% off for $4 a piece, including TNA Genesis 2005.

Store closing might be YMMV, not sure, but mine had a sign saying 3 days left.

You know, I noticed that too at my Tower, but I figured since I've been holed up with the flu for a week and a half maybe I just missed the big rush of sales... but they were SO cleared out...

Of course, there are the people like the lady I saw who looked to be throwing one of everything into her basket, without seeming to even be looking...
 
i bet you some of these cheap bastards are buying this shit as cheap xmas gifts to other people. If they try to flip them at walmart for full retail price, they should burn in hell!

Mine had a bunch of low budget B-horror movies, 30 copies of Brokeback Mountain, a ton of gay porn :lol:
 
man baldwin park was like one of the last towers I went to,

that was like almost 2 months ago...

getting kicked outta your house sucks coz I've been missing tower for quite a while
 
Tower in Laguna Hills CA: 3 days left until store closing

All CDs 2.50 or less. Same with DVDs

A fair number of DVDs, but they're all crap that I've never seen before.

CDs have been pillaged, but there are still some good ones left. Mostly bands/artists I have never heard of, but I walked away with Charlotte Martin, Nellie McKay, Julia Fordham, Boris, and Hem. And I had to leave before I was done looking.

I bought 18 CDs for $29.
 
Anyone gonna camp your local store on friday afternoon to see if they *give away* anything for free since they suppose to close by 5pm?
 
I missed the "final frenzy" at my local Towers. They closed for good on Tuesday evening. I was hoping to see what kind of crazy deals were available!

I did manage to hit both stores on Monday night. There was still a decent selection of worthwhile music remaining, but the movie DVDs were beyond pillaged! There were more than a handful of cool music DVDs left, so that section may be worth investigating.

Damn, did I end up with a lot of stuff from this sale! I wish music was always this cheap. Not necessarily the 80% and up I was getting on Monday, but I'd sure buy a lot more music with a 40% discount.
 
I went by Tower Sunset this morning and it was pretty depressing. About 75% of the store is blocked off. What's left is pretty picked dry. (not a surprise given it's the flagship location) I asked if the blank minidiscs REALLY were only 80% off of $12.99 per disc (keep in mind, they're normally $1-$2 anymore-- $12.99 is a 1995 price. works out to $2.50ish a disc) and the guy looked disgusted before almost spitting "Of course" at me. I was hoping to negotiate with him but it was obvious he didn't want to talk to me. (he didn't look like a normal employee, I figured he was a clearance worker)

:p I actually use minidiscs, I'm wondering what they're going to do with 500 of them that won't sell by tomorrow. :p
 
I'm gonna be in store tomorrow right after work and see if anyone makes an annoucement.....saying everything in the store 1 dollar!!

then watch the people grab all the crap they can lol.

I got a lot of good deals.

Today, CDs 1.49 each, Buy 5 get 1 for 1 cent, Buy 10 get 5 for 1 cent.

I walked out with 21 CDs for $22. Today was my experimental purchase day, buying anything that looked like I might like it (within reason).

Very few recognizeable artists left, although there are some in there. About a third as many CDs left as the previous day. There will probably be very little left for tomorrow, the last day.
 
My local store closed on Tuesday. From what I've heard, they threw away a lot of the remaining stock in the back dumpster upon store closing for anyone to pick over.

One of my friends at Gamecrazy who used to work there said that there was a definite shop until you drop by the fired employees there. Management walked out at the beginning of the closeout & the employees took over from what he said (damn straight I say!)

50 cents CDs!! 10 cents singles. Nothing but like less then 2 dozen junk dvds. Someone bought ALL Ambassdor Worfs and Troi's :whistle2:O

the rest of the toys are 95% but nothing left.

One employee I talked to when i asked what happens at 5pm, the fucker said we all have to get out. He looked ticked off but you would if you got the pink slip and no one was gonna hire you.

Anyways saw a sign saying good bye and thanks for being a loyal customer and it was signed by the freaks who worked there. Also some fool wrote 12/22/06 the day music died. Ah yea......ok..............

I saw a lot of people buying junk cd's..my guess either they are going to flip them or give them as junk gifts.

Good bye Tower...........let that be a lesson to other stores who sell there cd's at 18.99 or higher, drop your prices or go out of business and btw, don't hire goths!
