Toys R Us - Buy 2 get 1 free deal??

For the past few years TRU has had this deal in October. Since October is now less than a month away I was wondering if this deal would be coming back. Has anyone heard anything? There are a bunch of games I've been holding off on buying because I've been waiting for this deal.

last year i got SSBM and viewtiful joe for $25. plus, i only paid eb like 5 dollars because i traded in a bunch of crappy games from the TRU 90% sale.
 
Things wont start to surface until october. I remember the last two years in a row the deal has been within the last week of october. I hope to pick up Lunar, Trauma and Castlevania all for DS for 60 bucks :p
 
i thought i heard the end of september, but i'm not sure. hopefully tubtub will jump in this thread and let us know.
 
I think it's been towards the end of October every year. Last year it was Oct 20 or something like that. I hope I'll be able to get it on it this year, I don't seem to have as much money to blow anymore. :whistle2:(
 
my buddy still works at tru and we were tlaking about this sale yesterday and he said as far as he knows its towards the end of october or the first week of november

What would I buy hmm...well if its mid october and all these games are out then I would get Zatch Bell, DDR Extreme 2, Indigo Prophecy, Psychonauts, Soul Caliber 3, Gundam Seed Never Ending Tomorrow and WWE Day Of Reckoning 2. Ill probably buy one of those games too keep me busy until the sale so I guess those would be my purchases.

used prices are ALWAYS better then new prices.. and the selection is a lot more random.. and more fun to shop for in my opinion...

but this year i'll take the first day off and go to the nearest TRU (about an hour away) and see what i can get away with. (and yes the buy 2 GH/PH for 25 is great.)

I doubt it, usually the 90% stuff is clearance and you couldnt combine two deals but you never know.

Yeah it's true, somehow though I got so lucky laster year, I got phantom brave and SMT: Nocturne during the sale. :D

well, thats if they put handheld into the deal, it hasn't been for the last two years (at least at the southgate/dearborn michigan TRU's)

I got Castlevania, Disgaea, and (wait for it...) REZ at the sale one year. I figure that was pretty lucky, though I didn't like the last two too much.
 
Wasn't the B2G1F usually system specific so you couldn't mix and match systems? At least for the past couple of years. I think it was XBox and PS2 were B2G1F one week and then the next week it was GCube and GBA?
 
This year I might go all Marvel. Depending on reviews, I might get X-Men Legends 2, Ultimate Spiderman, and Marvel Nemesis Rise of the Imperfects.

And as a thank you, yes, it usually covers all their games (that arent already discounted) PSP should be included but we will have to wait and see since this is the first year PSP has been around to be included or not.

Last year I mixed and matched Xbox and PS2 no prob. Got Katamari, Psi Ops and Rachet and Clank 2. So it was done and probably will be done again this year.

Last year you could mix & match in store, but you couldn't online. Online was system specific
 
First year they had it I bought 6 games for $200 and realized right away I went overboard however back then new games cheaper the 49.99 was rare.

Last year I split the deal with someone else and split the costs evenly across the games. Worked out well since there wasn't much out at the time.

If I remember right anything ending with a 9 in the price is valid during the sale unless the change the rules. 8 is clearance, 7 is closeout, and 0 is individual store markdown. Games with prices ending in a 0, 7, or 8 could not be selected in the deal...

I wouldn't be surprised to see tons of large red tag items ending with 0 showing up in certain locations when the reset the aisles to add space to the DS, PSP, and make room for Xbox 360. Anyone seen there local TRU start the new planogram for the video game area...

No, that was just a rumor. Last year I bought GTA: SA, Fable and Paper Mario all on the same day.
