Is this the U.S.??
Considering this is the Canadian forum.. I'd wager no.

[e] Does the deal work across platforms? And does it work with pre-orders (I'm assuming not, but hey, doesn't hurt to ask)?

BUY ONE GET ONE FREE GC!!! YEEESSSS FINALLY! I'm so goin there. I'm tempted to get a few PS2 games as well for when I get a ps2....

Anyone know ToysRUs' return policy? I might buy them, keep them sealed, and return them if I suddenly don't need them.

They have the internet in Canada now?
wow what a lame and dumb joke....
Acutally it was pretty funny to me. I'm American though. \\:D/

funny joke, should be appreciated by all. I'm serious counting on this deal being offered in the US also, i'll spend sh**load of money on this if it is

Sweet! Thanks for the info! :D

I've been waiting for a BOGO GameCube sale...it's too bad this one is only Player's Choice like the one TRU had a few months back.

Oh well, probably going to pick me up 2 or 4 games :)
Which 2 GC games should i pick up lol...and I need 2 PS2 games too xD
what games do you currently own?

Well I dont have ANY PS2 games, so basically the best 2 for that system, I was thinking FFX And KH1, and for GC I got lots, mario party, zelda, mario, luigis mansion, monkey ball, etc...I was thinking maybe Baten Kaitos and MP1 for gamecube...

Well in total all the games for PS2 I was thinking most is:
KH1, KH2, FFX, Shadow of the Colossus...and maybe others, I actually don't know PS2 games well cause they're all not like Mario or Zelda type. So I wouldn't mind suggestions in the PS2 department lol. I like RPGs, Platformers, Strategy, Adventure, and some Racing games. Don't like shooters really UNLESS they have a really fun online mode.

And for GC I was thinking:
Baten Kaitos, Metroid prime 1, Star fox adventures, Mario striker, Soul Calibur 2, MP2, Sonic Riders...

BK is Player's Choice now? I'm pretty sure Mario Strikers isn't, at least.

To help you out:

Baiten Kaitos, Mario Strikers, Metroid Prime 2, and Sonic Riders are NOT Player's Choice.

Metroid Prime, Star Fox Adventures, and Soul Calibur II ARE Player's Choice.

Personally, I want to get maybe 2 or 4 of these games:

(1) Luigi's Mansion - Definitely getting, it's there in my TRU.
(2) Soul Calibur II - Not in my TRU, but I really want it.
(3) Zelda: Four Swords - In my area, big maybe.
(4) Star Fox Assault - In my area, big maybe.
(5) NBA Street Vol. 2 - Not in my TRU, want it.
(6) Pikmin 1 - Not in my TRU, want it.

There are also some other great Player's Choice titles I recommend such as Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes and Metroid Prime.

If anyone lives in near the Vancouver area, I'd be more than happy to trade some Player's Choice games if you can't find them in your area.

(For example, I want SC II but my TRU doesn't have it, and you want Star Wars Rogue Squadron II and your TRU doesn't have it, but mine does)

Edit: I believe the broadway one also has NBA Street Vol. 2

Dang it I reeeeeally wanted Baten Kaitos and I thought it'd be PC by now. Crap well I'll probably go MP and Soul Calibur 2, or maybe I'll go Star Fox Assault or Adventures and Soul Calibur 2.

Still for PS2 though I dont know what to get lol...

well its only 19.99 so that isn't too bad, might as well get it off ebay though, you can get it with the soundtrack for a bit cheaper i believe

Hmm... Does TRU sell PC/GH/PH games for $20 or $25 or $30? I forgot. I might look into Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, and some other stuff...
20 bucks for Baten Kaitos? Thats even better...where? lol
Toys R Us has been selling Baten Kaitos at $20 for months now, at least since beginning of this year, which is when I bought my copy.
Any way to check if this works in the US also? Any TRU employees here?
This sale is for Canadian Toys R Us ONLY.

The US Toys R Us should be having a similar sale in the near future, but again, the one mentioned in this thread is for Canada ONLY.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up. :D

It's too bad the broad-way one is so damn far away... :bomb:

Dang I might have to pick up baten kaitos then too. I think I'll leave it for awhile though....Getting 4 games in one day is more than I ever got before =O
Dang I might have to pick up baten kaitos then too. eh? where in vancouver do you live?

I live in the Coquitlam area, but I'll be heading to the one in Vancouver sometime tomorrow afternoon.

I went to the TRU in Coquitlam this morning, and ended up getting Luigi's Mansion and StarFox: Assault.

Looking to buy another 2 games...hopefully Soul Calibur II, and NBA Street Vol. 2.

i picked up pikmin 2 and paper mario.

everything isn't getting picked through like that crazy gba advance sale.

Cool. Any idea when the US one starts? There's some games I want to buy now but I'd wait if I could get one free :)

Yup I plan on taking the skytrain to Commercial than the 099(?) bus to oakridge mall.

Is the oakridge mall big? It seems like it...

I just hope that it isn't like shitty metrotown..oh my god, I went there today around 2:00, and the only Player's Choice they had was Need For Speed Underground 2, Tony Hawk's Underground 2, Super Monkey Ball, Spiderman, and some other crap games I have no interest in.

Everything was also a mess, and there were WAY too many people crowding around the mall.

Never metrotown again. Never. :bomb:

Well I went to 2 ToysRUs' and neither had StarFox Adventures, Metroid Prime 1, FFX, Kingdom Hearts 1, or Soul Calibur 2...so I bought nothing. All I found for gamecube of the slightest interest was Star Fox assault. They said that the games they didn't have mentioned above are going to be discontinued...

i live in coquitlam too and i wouldn't mind the directions.
i live in coquitlam too and i wouldn't mind the directions.
alright guys so first of all, take the skytrain to main st station (where science world is) then take the main bus until broadway, then take broadway WEST (so going towards broadway you need to get off on broadway and head right) switch to the 99 b-line (which is on MAIN and BROADWAY) i believe, and it should take you along broadway keep going until (you see this HUGE vertical sign that says TOYS R' US that stands so high on your left as you ride the 99) you'll probably have to get off either a stop before or after TRU because the B-line skips stops because its for ubc students to get to school faster, hope that helps, let me know if you need me to clarify anything

If anyone still doesn't get it, go to translink.bc.ca and use the trip planner there.

It gives you the fastest route, along with a map and which buses to take.

Personally, I took the skytrain up to commercial, then took the 009 bus to Alma at Broadway Bay2, which stopped right in front of the Toys R Us.

Stop the bus after you see Spruce street, and you should be just outside Toys R Us, across the street.

Edit: I rarely take the bus, so using the site is the best solution, of course if you're lazy (which you probably are ;)) you can just take my advice at your own risk
i haven't seen ANY of the games you mentioned except for soul calibur II for the gc at my TRU
Ahhhh..another terrible experience going to Toys R Us after the metrotown crap I had to go through today.

After my shift ended at 3:30, I started heading directly to the Broadway TRU from SFU.

Everything was smooth until I got to the commercial station. Now, I don't visit Vancouver often, but damn, there is just so many people (and some looked strange).

The commercial station was horribly set up, since it had no "Bus Loop", and the bus stops are basically scattered around the block. I had to walk all the way around to finally find the boarding stop for 009 bus.

When the POS bus came, it was friggin small (was a "short bus", with the left rows having only 1 seat, and the right rows having two), with 2x its capacity in people rushing into it.

Inside the bus, it was jam packed, with massive amount of people getting in and out every stop. I was also surrounded by annoying ass kids that shout and cry and wouldn't stfu, and when I finally got a seat, the dude next to me smelled like crap.

Anyways, so there I was, looking anxiously at the passing intersections to be prepared to pull on the "stop string". When I finally got to TRU, the store was not as big as I was expecting.

Sure, I admit, it had the largest variety of games of the three I went to (Coquitlam, Vancouver, Burnaby), but unfortunately, there wasn't any I was interested in.

THE WORST PART WAS: THEY DIDN'T HAVE SOUL CALIBUR II! :bomb: ..I went up to the cashier to ask her to check stock, and she said none of the TRU in Canada has the game available (wtf?).

So, disappointed and wasting an hr and 15-min of my time getting there, holding my fucking breath almost the entire bus trip, I ended up buying Super Monkey Ball 1 and Super Monkey Ball 2 for $20 total to justify the trip.

The only other game that interested me (that I didn't have) was Need For Speed: Underground 2. Other than that, basically the same games as the other ones I went to, but with 5x the stock of the TRU in Metrotown (worst. TRU. ever).
