Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

Hmm... Will the extra 25% off show at a price check station, or only when the item is rung up at the register? There were a couple games with orange markdown stickers I checked out on Sunday, but they were showing full price when I checked them at the scanner. One had a 'buy one get one $10 off' message as well, but the associate I asked about it didn't seem to know what the deal was for, and no similar sale signs were up.

I saw the "PROMO" text when they scanned the game but the price didn't drop until the guy hit total (I bought 2 games).
 
Yeah, I noticed at the register it won't drop til after you hit total, but at the price scanners in the aisles it seems to give you the final price.
 
So the 25% thing is an automatic discount, and this 20% off coupon is something that can be stacked on top of it, right?

I saw in another thread someone said they got GH5 w/ guitar for $20, so I'm hoping one of my local stores will also have it and I'll be able to score a copy as well.

Nope. Per several employees/regulars, the 25% off and the 20% are considered by the register to be the same type of discount and only one can be applied. The only people who have reported success noted that the manager did an override. The person claiming GH5 for $20 is Miamistyle who is a straight up liar and spammer.

Yea, it is still $89.99 on the website. I called and game them the item # and they confirmed the price.

The ad for the 18th makes no mention of any further discounts, so this is probably it. Maybe if we're lucky they'll drop the clearance prices themselves further though.
 
They've done this sale (extra % off clearance) the past few summers haven't they. IIRC, two years ago it went up to 35% off and last year we were all disappointed when it ended after 25% off.
 
I just remembered the one thing that I saw that someone might have been interested in... They had a HORI fight stick at my local TRU. I have no use for one, as I am not a fighting game person, but if you are and wanted a Hori, check your local TRU...

Edit - and it was on clearance, therefore it gets the 25% off... It was in the 360 section.

Do you recall the price of the stick before the 25% off? I've been waiting ages to pick up a 360 stick.
 
Question guys. If i order stuff on tru.com and than add an expensive filler to get free shipping, could i just return in-store the expensive filler and it wouldn't effect the other items or me getting free shipping?

i'm asking because some figures i want buy are cheaper on the site than in-store and i don't think TRU price matches its online store. The filler would only be like a $30-40 item

TRU does match its online prices but it's not something they tell anyone.

That would be bad because returning an online order to a B&M TRU only gets you store credit no matter how you paid originally; But as Gertle said, they'll price match the TRU website.

Yeah, you may very have to speak to a manager because most employees at my store don't seem to know about this. I didn't know for the first 6 months or so of working there.

Not easy to find, at least in my area. Three stores never even carried it, according to the employees.
 
Went looking for some of the Transformers War for Cybertron figures today; no luck on that front, but did end up getting You're in the Movies w/Live Vision Cam Bundle for $7.49 (still saw at least 12+ left) and some generic looking FM Transmitter/charger for my MP3 player for $3.75. Can't complain too much I guess.
 
Found Bionic Commando for $7.50. $10 - 25% off, I also saw a ton of Street Fighter IV CE for the 360, but they wanted $80. I am surprised they weren't clearanced, since they had a good 10+ copies instock.

Yeah, I picked up the last DQV copy at my local store, then took it and the coupon off any one game to customer service and got them to apply it post-purchase.

Yea so I went to tru and cashiers were clueless found a manager I think but said he couldn't price match it cuz it was a clearance price but didoffer to hold the stuff until the store clearences it

Bah, you're lucky. Three copies of the game have been sitting at my TRU for over a year and I finally bought 1 during the 25% off sale. The very next day (went back make use of the PS3/PS2/PSP B1G1 40% off sale), the rest were gone... my buddy there told me it was "that one guy" who we both know as the hoarder around here. I should have just bought all three... no point in not hoarding when someone else is going to do it anyway.
 
I went and I picked up Prinny. My local TRU (South Philly) actually had bunch of copies left, at least 7 or 8 before I purchased it.
 
Jeeez, I was just near Toys R Us and forgot to stop by to see what they had...I hate it when I do things like that.

Alright I was able to score my second game today with the 25% off clearance games, which ended today. Had score MPT a few weeks ago for $26.90 after tax since the employee that rang me up allowed me to stack a coupon for an additional 20% off. Today I got Chronicles of Riddick :ps3: for $10.68 after tax one left. Apparently I got one that has some bonus toys r us map, at least thats what it says on the game cover. I got lucky cause I got a $3.00 off offer yesterday that was only good for today which was also the last day for the 25% off. :D Wish I could have found The conduit but maybe next time.

It was in an email for TRU Rewards members. A one time use coupon for $10 off any purchase on Saturday only.
